Leonardo took a taxi ho. It was around 9 PM.
Margaret hadn’t contacted him, so she was probably still waiting calmly.
He entered through the mall and used the elevator there to go up to his apartnt.
The hallway outside his unit was as quiet as usual. Leonardo walked straight inside.
If Margaret didn’t call him, he naturally had no intention of seeing her.
However, the mont he stepped inside his apartnt, he froze in surprise.
His large TV was on, playing a Korean drama, while a blonde woman sat casually on his sofa with her legs crossed.
She was only wearing short cloth shorts and a tight white tank top.
Her gaze imdiately shifted toward him.
"What’s going on here? I don’t rember getting married, yet it seems soone wants to be the housewife in my ho," Leonardo said sarcastically.
Margaret showed no reaction.
Her face remained calm as her eyes slowly scanned him from head to toe.
"Do you actually have such expectations?" she asked.
"My desire definitely does."
"There is no desire that doesn’t want . Even a gay man’s desire would return to that of a man because of my beauty," she said calmly. "But what I asked about was your heart."
"My heart?" Leonardo showed a strange expression.
She was asking about his heart.
He thought for a mont before answering.
"Maybe my heart wants you too. You know, the heart also has its own desires, just in a different way. It doesn’t think—but it feels satisfied when it possesses sothing that increases its prestige and makes others jealous."
Leonardo grabbed a plastic chair beside the window, placed it across from Margaret’s sofa, and sat down while lighting a cigarette.
"Do you want to know what I’m thinking right now?" he asked.
"No. There’s no need. Your thoughts are probably just nonsense," Margaret replied, shaking her head.
"So... where’s the wine?" Leonardo changed the topic.
"I feel like it’s pointless now. Since you dared to agree, you must already have so trick to avoid the effects. In the end, I’ll probably just lose again."
"Oh..." Leonardo didn’t expect her to change her mind.
"So what’s your plan now?" he asked.
"Nothing."
"Then why are you here?"
"Why? Can’t I co here?"
"Do you often go to a man’s house?"
"Ridiculous. I might be a bad person, but I’m not cheap," Margaret finally showed a hint of anger when he implied she could casually associate with any man.
"You’re confusing ," Leonardo said while blowing out smoke.
"Of course. This might be part of a bigger sche of yours. I can’t deny the possibility that I might throw away my rationality for you. But if that’s your plan, I have to say I’m very honored—Margaret Harvey offering both her body and soul to ... No one would ever believe that." Leonardo chuckled.
Strangely, Margaret smiled when she heard that.
"That’s exactly what happened to my grandfather and grandmother," she said.
"Your grandparents?" Leonardo was slightly surprised.
"My beauty is inherited from my grandmother. Even though my grandfather was an intelligent man, he still chose to make her his wife despite the possibility that she had her own sches."
"Oh..." Leonardo had never heard about that.
Of course, he had never researched the Harvey family that far back.
"So what happened after that?" he asked.
"It wasn’t as bad as people imagined. The Harvey family actually rose to beco the super-wealthy family it is today. When two people marry, many things can change. My grandmother achieved her goals through my grandfather, but it stopped mattering. They continued their marriage."
"You’re not going to tell you actually want to marry , are you?" Leonardo froze slightly.
"Your words aren’t entirely wrong, but they’re not entirely right either," Margaret said calmly.
"This afternoon, I contacted my father. I wanted a few things from him to help get my belongings back from you. Do you know what he said after hearing what you did?"
She paused.
"He said he wanted to have you engaged to . Tomorrow, he’ll probably invite you to et him."
Margaret spoke as if it were nothing unusual.
"My father is like many rich n. He believes the man who will marry his daughter should be chosen by him. But his thinking is a bit different. He doesn’t look for n from elite families. He looks for n with strange talents, like you."
"The more surprising things he hears about you, the more he likes you."
Leonardo: "..."
"So what’s your decision? Will you rebel—or follow my father’s wishes?" she asked.
"That’s what I’m thinking about right now. Don’t think this will be an easy decision. Even if I had bad intentions toward you, I can’t casually decide sothing when it involves my marriage. Besides, the outco of marriage is never certain."
"Oh, so this ans you’re currently evaluating ." Leonardo chuckled again.
He found this extrely amusing.
"I don’t think my father’s idea is entirely wrong. Maybe this could actually be good for my future."
"Without considering my potential, what do you think of as an ordinary person?" Leonardo asked.
"You have many advantages as an ordinary man," she replied.
"For example?"
"For example, you were brave enough to reject my request. That was the first ti I’ve ever experienced sothing like that."
"So you think that’s impressive. But honestly, I was just too naïve back then."
"No. No matter how naïve you were, you should have been intimidated and too afraid to refuse. That was inborn courage, sothing embedded in your soul."
"I don’t think so."
"I have more insight than you."
"So do you actually like ?" Leonardo said. "For sothing like that, I wouldn’t believe it."
"Damn it, don’t joke when I’m being serious!"
Suddenly, Margaret threw a sofa pillow straight at Leonardo’s head.
It was so fast that he couldn’t dodge it.
Leonardo was left stunned.
"I’m normal. Of course I can like a man," the woman continued, her expression returning to calm.
"After thinking about it... you’re actually not bad as a partner."
