Bam! Bam! Bam!

The sun had not even risen yet, and Leonardo—who had slept late—was still extrely drowsy when he heard the sound of his bedroom door being knocked loudly.

He woke up in shock.

After all, he lived alone. It would be one thing if the doorbell rang, but this was his bedroom door.

That ant soone had already entered.

He rembered that he hadn’t even changed the PIN of this apartnt yet, so it was still possible for soone to enter—either Laura, who had told him the PIN, or the person who had given him the apartnt.

The first was unlikely, and the second as well. Neither of them had any reason to co here.

The only possibility was Margaret.

Of course, she could easily obtain the PIN.

Leonardo reluctantly got out of bed and opened the door—only to be pushed imdiately by a pair of white hands.

Pa!

His back slamd against the wall as those hands pressed against his shoulders.

Margaret clearly hadn’t washed her face yet, although her hair looked neat.

Unlike her calm deanor at the restaurant, she was now glaring at Leonardo.

"Leonardo Anderson, return everything," she said coldly.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Leonardo tried to push back but realized that her physical strength was greater.

Margaret grabbed his hand and forcefully pulled off his ring.

Holding the ring allowed her to peek inside.

"An S-Class weapon!" the woman exclaid in shock when she saw the dagger.

But that was all she found, along with several Monster Cores.

There was nothing else, because Leonardo had already moved the Last Gate key, the S-Class Monster Core from the Golden Golem, and the two Holy Tree Hearts elsewhere. He knew it wasn’t safe to keep them in the ring.

Only the weapon remained so it wouldn’t look suspicious if the ring contained nothing but Monster Cores.

"What are you looking for?" Leonardo asked, taking the ring back.

Margaret didn’t release him imdiately. She pressed his shoulders again and stared sharply into his eyes.

"Don’t pretend. I know your ability," she said.

"And I don’t know what you’re talking about. Is your brain disturbed, and you dread that I stole from you because of your trauma?" Leonardo replied.

In his mind, he couldn’t help but praise his own acting.

He didn’t expect himself to sound so natural.

Perhaps it was because he had such a strong urge to teach this woman a lesson.

As he continued denying everything with such natural acting, Margaret’s brows furrowed.

Clearly, doubt had appeared.

But that doubt only lasted a mont.

"Do you know the price I paid to obtain all those things? Return them, and I’ll replace them with sothing else. Tell what you want!"

"You’re truly insane," Leonardo replied.

"You must have hidden them sowhere else. You should also have the Last Gate key."

"I stored that key sowhere before I got the Dinsional Ring, and I haven’t taken it yet," Leonardo said easily.

Now he didn’t need to keep hiding the key from her.

"Harvey, you must be so unwilling to accept your defeat to that you think anything you lose must be my doing. Can’t you consider that soone else might have taken them? You’ve probably never lost before, so you underestimate your enemies—but clearly you overestimate yourself."

After saying that, Leonardo pushed her stomach, forcing her to step back.

But she clearly had no intention of leaving easily.

She stood in front of the door and even closed it.

"I’m not stupid. I don’t need you to tell that. Precisely because I’m not stupid, you’re the only suspect I’m considering," she said.

"I see..." Leonardo nodded calmly.

"That’s just your thinking. You can keep believing that, and the result is predictable—you’ll never get your things back."

After saying that, he turned back toward the bed.

"You!" Margaret widened her eyes when she saw him lie down again.

"What? Is it wrong for to sleep in my own bedroom? I still want to sleep," Leonardo replied.

"But huh... I feel truly honored that you visited my room. Or..." he showed a strange, doubtful expression. "Are you actually lonely and made up this whole story just to have an excuse to co here?"

"Anderson, do you want to fight?" Margaret shouted angrily.

But she quickly realized that wasn’t her style.

Even in anger, she shouldn’t be shouting like an uncivilized woman.

She closed her lips quickly, leaving only her sharp gaze.

"You did everything well," she said after a mont.

"No need to praise . It has nothing to do with ," Leonardo replied.

"You deserve praise. You’re truly impressive. Yesterday you made so angry that I fainted, and now you make deeply impressed. No wonder my father says you have good fate."

She nodded, though her sharp gaze remained.

Unfortunately, her praise didn’t make Leonardo feel pleased.

Instead, it made him uncomfortable.

He suspected she had another plan in mind.

"Just so you know, Harvey. I’ve never been afraid of you," Leonardo said.

"I’m praising your victory, not your courage. There’s no need to discuss that."

She turned and opened the door.

"And I think I should congratulate you on your victory. Co to my apartnt this morning—I’ll cook for you."

Leonardo, "..."

He was no longer sleepy.

Curiosity filled him.

Of course, his mood was quite good since he had obtained great things and shaken that woman again.

DING!

(Ellie’s EXP has reached full, Ellie has risen to Level 11!)

(With one of your Monsters reaching Level 11, you have also risen to Level 11. You obtained 10 Evolution Points that can be distributed to your attribute statistics!)

A notification from Ellie suddenly appeared.

After almost an entire night, she had finally leveled up.

Leonardo smiled, feeling happier, and began distributing the Evolution Points.

(Beast Buff Power: 5.2) 1

(Strength: 4.3) 1

(Defense: 4.2) 1

(Agility: 5.4)

(Intelligence: 10.6) 2

(Vitality: 4.3)

(Stamina: 10.6) 2

(Mana: 13.5) 3

(Boss!)

Suddenly there was a call—but it wasn’t from Ellie.

It was from Liam.

(What is it?) Leonardo asked.

(I carried out your order to observe the tree from the Aethercore Fruit. I think I sensed sothing.) Liam replied.

(What did you sense?)

Leonardo expected the wolf’s sharp instincts to determine which attribute the Aethercore Fruit would enhance.

It might be a very traditional way of researching, but he knew it was reliable, because monsters could vaguely sense the effects sothing would have on them.

(Strength. I feel that is the effect.)

(I see...) Leonardo nodded while stroking his chin.

If that was the effect, then he could stop adding points to his Strength attribute.
