(Boss, these monsters seem to have hearts even smaller than that dog’s. They’re extrely easy to kill with my song.) Ellie said confidently.
(Oh? Really?) Leonardo was imdiately interested.

But when Leonardo finally arrived at the largest gate—situated atop a massive stone hill—he found nothing but silence.
There was no one there.
And more importantly, no Monster Boss.
More precisely, it was located in another Layer of Floor 1.
(In which Layer is the Monster Boss of the 12th Gate?) Leonardo sent a query to his Statistic Chip, which connected directly to the mysterious network of Transmission World.

Layer 2 belonged to the Tokyo tropolitan region—a Layer populated by Awakeners from across Japan.
Leonardo was pulled by a mysterious force.
The transition lasted only an instant—like switching television channels.
"Eh."
Sothing startled him.
Standing directly in front of him was a woman wearing a black kimono. Her black hair was neatly tied up, and she held a katana in her left hand.
Suddenly, the woman turned around, as if sensing sothing appear behind her.
Her face was youthful and strikingly beautiful—distinctly Japanese, yet with a sharp nose and round eyes.
Her brows furrowed sharply when she saw nothing behind her.
On the other side, Leonardo froze. So did Ellie.
Both feared that even the slightest movent might alert her.
Fortunately, they weren’t rely invisible—they were, in a sense, nonexistent.
After a few tense seconds, the woman eventually walked away.
(Boss... she seed to sense our arrival.) Ellie whispered.
(Maybe...)
Leonardo considered that even in Invisible Mode—an SS Class Body ability—strong instincts might still detect his presence.
When his gaze shifted toward the gate before him, he imdiately dismissed the woman from his thoughts.
He saw the golem.
Its form was far more humanoid than the others—standing about 2.5 ters tall.
Unlike the regular golems, its body was gold.

Because of the Golden Golem’s presence, the entire stone hill was enclosed within a wall of light.
