Wu Yi turned to Hua Yuan, saying, “With the principal here, I won’t say anything indiscreet. It’s better to resolve misunderstandings early; we’re neighbors, after all.”
Hua Yuan listened to this and understood it as wanting him as a witness. What a joke!
“You’re too kind, Teacher Wu Yi; our school fully supports and respects any decision Professor Nian makes, and we can’t force friendships between people.”
