Capítulo 770: Chapter 772: School Life 2
Zhao Dii’s smug look made Nian Shutong, who was next in line, find it amusing, and quite satisfying.
However, that was just what two people were thinking; others definitely did not see it that way.
“Oh my God! Shanshan!”
A woman not far away first ran over but did not actually step into the paddy field, rely extending a hand to pull and drag Shanshan up.
“Shanshan, are you okay?” The woman checked Shanshan’s condition, but aside from mud all over her clothes and mouth, there actually wasn’t any injury.
“Zhao Dii, you’ve gone too far!”
Standing on the ridge, Zhao Dii, far from backing down, stood with her hands on her hips and neck craned upward.
“Are you sick in the head? What did I do? I didn’t even touch her, didn’t co into contact with her, and she falls down and blas soone else. Are your brains not working?”
“Always looking down on for being uneducated, but I see your education isn’t much to boast about either. Can’t you use your own eyes? Always blaming others for everything.”
Zhao Dii’s mouth was certainly slick, and she made her point perfectly clear. Most of the people here were relatives, and there were also one or two teachers, but, holding on to their dignity, they were even less likely to fight Zhao Dii in the fields.
And their main clash with Zhao Dii was also about farming.
They were all willing to eat rice, but they didn’t want to do the work.
But if they didn’t work, they wouldn’t have anything to eat. The school giving them a plot of land was already generous of them.
Otherwise, the school would take it back, grow their own crops, and the students would have more to eat in the future, so these people also couldn’t afford to leave the land fallow.
In the school, it wasn’t appropriate to hire others, and so would indeed use robots, but Zhao Dii’s family never used robots, which made many others subconsciously compare and thus also refrain from using them.
But when they actually went down to the fields, they couldn’t handle it, so over ti, every ti they saw Zhao Dii, the group would throw sour words at her.
Shanshan, who had fallen face down into the mud, along with the woman who helped her stand up, knew they didn’t have a leg to stand on, so in the end, they shouted indignantly at Zhao Dii: “Country bumpkin!”
Zhao Dii shouted back, completely unconcerned: “What’s wrong with a country bumpkin! We eat dumplings daily at my house, we even had at today, making you jealous.”
“Girl, let’s go. We don’t need to look at them. They’re just a bunch of people jealous that we eat rice and noodles every day.”
Deep down, Zhao Dii was still very strong, or rather, she didn’t care about other people’s opinions.
“Hey, sister-in-law.”
Nian Shutong left with Zhao Dii, casting a aningful glance backward before removing her gaze.
“What are you looking at, freak.”
The woman behind murmured softly, but could Nian Shutong not hear it?
A smile that others couldn’t fathom crept up the corners of her mouth as she followed Zhao Dii, gradually leaving the area.
After the two left, Nian Shutong directly entered her own courtyard, said goodbye to Zhao Dii, and went back to her room, first calling Lin Mu.
After two beeps, Lin Mu answered.
“What do you want?”
“What? I can’t just be missing you?”
“Save it. Calling Fu Yunhe with that line might work, but not with .”
Lin Mu, carrying Heavy Sword, stood behind a group of children. Through the cara, Nian Shutong could see another group of children opposite and Ha Ha standing behind them.
“What are you guys up to?”
“Fighting real battles.”
“Ha Ha insists on leading a group of students in a competition.”
Lin Mu, after saying this, leaned in closer to the cara and asked Nian Shutong in a low voice, “When did I ever not notice Ha Ha being so competitive?”
“He probably wants to beat you, since he never won over you in farming,” Nian Shutong observed the competition between the two groups of children for a while, noting they were pretty skilled.
“Not bad, keep it up.”
After speaking, Nian Shutong shared the purpose of her call today with Lin Mu.
“There’s a live stream tonight, right?”
“Yes.”
“Later, I’ll give you a Light Computer account, and then we’ll draw three winners in the giveaway, sending them a big gift pack of grain and vegetables. The account I give you must win; the other two, we don’t care about.”
After hearing Nian Shutong’s words, Lin Mu curiously popped his head up and asked, “Who is it so important that our Nian Shutong would go through the back door for?”
“The sister-in-law next door.”
“The sister-in-law next door,” these five words made Lin Mu take a while to react.
“That should sound normal, but for so reason, it cos across as very awkward when you say it.”
“Feels like nobody could have you calling them ‘sister-in-law,’ that title’s too prestigious.”
Lin Mu shook off the chills, they chatted a bit more about trivial matters, and then ended the call.
After hanging up, Nian Shutong muttered to herself, “Since they’re jealous, let’s make them even more jealous.”
That night, Nian Shutong spent transcribing ancient books as usual. The next morning, when she ca out to stretch her body, a crouched head suddenly appeared at the doorstep.
“You scared to death! What’s this for, just knock if you’re here.”
Nian Shutong opened her courtyard door to see the library elder with dark circles under his eyes, who looked sowhat accusing as he asked her, “Why didn’t you co back?”
“Co back where?”
Nian Shutong invited the elder to sit under the eaves outside her small wooden house, then understandingly said, “You an the ancient books.”
“I didn’t say I’d co back right away, just said I’d co back to copy them. I wrote all night and thought about bringing them to you after eating.”
“Again!”
The elder who was about to sit down got up at once, his eyes, black as jet, steadily fixed on Nian Shutong.
“Did you write or not?”
“That’s not important. Where’s the book?”
The elder was behaving rather like an addict, but Nian Shutong still took out the newly copied ancient book and held it.
“How about eating sothing and resting a bit before looking at it?”
“No need!”
The elder reached out for the book, but Nian Shutong took two steps back and said, “If you don’t rest, this will be the last book. I won’t copy anymore after this, which would be a sha considering all the ancient books in my house.”
“More? You have more?”
The elder looked at Nian Shutong, his eyes almost shining, seeming like that brightness could be seen from outside the planet.
“Of course, there are still ancient books. I have no other virtues; it’s just that I’ve been exposed to ancient books a bit more since childhood.”
“Can’t help it, just have a deeper cultural foundation.”
The elder already sat down, looking at Nian Shutong, who boasted, “Aren’t you an orphan? How could you have had ti to read and have such profound culture? Shouldn’t you have been just busy staying alive?”
“Oh dear, you even know I’m an orphan, you know quite a lot.”
