Chapter 747: Chapter 749: Hua Rong
Nian Shutong looked at the mountainous pile of nutrient, and he had to admit, it was a matter of timing and destiny.
“You are lucky.”
“Yes, you’re right, I feel the sa way.”
Hua Rong exuded optimism, none of the pessimism and distress that often accompanied solitary confinent.
“Don’t be fooled by my optimism now, I actually went mad a few tis in the beginning. What you see now is the calm after knowing that nothing would help, and slowly accepting the situation.”
“I still fantasize that, if one day I can get out, I want to et Xiao Bai again, just to tell him that I’m not angry and don’t want him to bla himself.”
“No matter if he is married or has children, I just want to tell him that I’ve never been angry with him.”
As Hua Rong spoke, it seed as if she rembered sothing, “You don’t know, he is so stubborn, once he’s set his mind on sothing, no one can change it.”
“Mingming is younger than , but insists on being my big brother, yet he’s as naive as a nine-year-old child.”
Throughout all this, Hua Rong was smiling.
“I don’t know whether the Xiao Bai you ntioned has married or had children, but I can take you out.”
Nian Shutong’s words filled the woman with joy beyond words; she stood up and bowed deeply to Nian Shutong.
“Thank you, but if we really encounter danger, please don’t worry about my safety. Just take care of yourself.”
“I will.”
Nian Shutong’s straightforward answer left no room for doubt in Hua Rong’s mind, but made her feel that this was how it should be.
She was truly a magnanimous person.
“Do you have anything you want to pack?”
Nian Shutong was already standing, ready to leave at any mont. Hua Rong looked around her small wooden house and at so remaining nutrient liquid, “No, I won’t take anything. Leave it for soone with destiny.”
“However, please wait for a mont.”
Hua Rong walked over to a wall, holding a red rhizo, and began writing on the wall.
“Freshwater can be collected from the cliffs.”
“Do not go beyond the yellow grassland in front of the small wooden house, it’s dangerous.”
“Do not…”
Hua Rong listed everything related to the place on the wall.
“Okay, let’s go.”
Nian Shutong didn’t say anything, but when the two of them walked out, she headed towards the wall behind them.
“At first, I also found it strange, it was clearly a forest, but there was a wall.”
“But then I thought, what seems like a wall to might just be a high mountain, and I’m too small to see the whole picture.”
Hua Rong’s words made sense.
Even so, Nian Shutong was still interested. She said to Hua Rong, “I’m going to take a look at the other side, do you want to wait here for , or co along?”
Without hesitation, Hua Rong answered, “With you.”
“Good.”
Nian Shutong shot out a green vine and wrapped it around Hua Rong.
“We’re leaving.”
Imdiately afterward, Hua Rong felt herself rising on the spot, it felt like taking an elevator, except she was tied up, more like a piece of cargo being hoisted up.
However, she didn’t mind at all and still had ti to look around at the surroundings, at the place that had trapped her for twelve years.
Nian Shutong had been ascending and soon reached the summit, just as Hua Rong had said, it was a mountain.
Yet, this mountain was not large, but very long, like a boundary line’s fence separating two worlds, and this fence was circular, approximately thirty ters thick with rocky formations, enclosing a circle.
And within this circle was also vegetation, but surprisingly devoid of any toxins.
Outside the enclosure lay the perilous world Nian Shutong had co from, filled with danger.
“So this is what it’s like here.”
Hua Rong spoke with so emotion, “No one can enter, and here, Flying Devices cannot take flight.”
“Also, no one can safely make it here all the way.”
Nian Shutong rely turned her head to glance at Hua Rong, who imdiately understood and said, “I didn’t break in on my own; I encountered a big tree and, in the midst of the struggle, was sent flying by it, tumbling and crashing my way in.”
“But once inside, I couldn’t get out again.”
Nian Shutong turned her head back, looking downward.
“I need to go down, there are things I require below.”
“Okay, I’ll just wait here.”
Nian Shutong nodded, descending with Hua Rong, who wisely stood close to the rocks, not disturbing even a blade of grass, her actions making it clear that, no matter how precious the things were, they were all for you.
Nian Shutong untied Hua Rong, and then began to collect what she needed.
Most of the plants here were dicinal herbs, and Nian Shutong collected any that had reached the usable age, saving them for more convenient future elixir preparation.
However, she left untouched the small ones and those still growing, thinking that ordinary people couldn’t enter here anyway, so might as well leave them for now.
Since these herbs can grow here, it indicates that the environnt is suitable, so let them grow slowly.
After Nian Shutong finished harvesting the herbs, Hua Rong had already fallen asleep against the rock wall.
Throughout the process, she had not moved at all, a person with great restraint.
“Hua Rong.”
Nian Shutong woke her up, and when Hua Rong opened her eyes, she saw a brown crust, but inside was soft and white.
But what attracted Hua Rong the most was the aroma, she pointed to the thing before her and asked, “What’s this? It slls so good!”
“Bread, a type of food, have so.”
“For ?”
Hua Rong pointed at herself, swallowing several tis, but her mouth and throat were so dry from the lack of water, it hurt rawly.
“This is milk, eat them together.”
Nian Shutong took out a bag of milk and, placing it alongside the bread in Hua Rong’s arms, she herself sat down beside her to eat so things as well.
“I’m eating at, but since you haven’t eaten in a long ti, it’s better not to have these.”
Holding the bread and milk in her hands, Hua Rong said cheerfully, “This is enough for .”
The two of them ate quietly, and even though Hua Rong hadn’t eaten real food for a long ti, she still ate very slowly, as if savoring every inch of the food’s flavor.
When Hua Rong finished her milk, she sucked hard on the corner of the bag, reluctant to let a drop go, even tearing open the corner to squeeze and lick out every last bit.
She drank without any hint of embarrassnt, but rather with relish.
She was equally careful with the bread, not sparing a single crumb and holding it gently between her hands.
Nian Shutong said nothing throughout.
Had she been consuming nutrient liquid for over a decade, she might not have acted this way the first ti eating food, because Hua Rong truly understood the value of food.
After the two had finished eating, Nian Shutong tied Hua Rong up again, and as they landed on the other side of the mountain, Nian Shutong released the vines around Hua Rong and said to her, “Follow .”
“I will.”
