Chapter 368: Chapter 366 Promotion
Nian Shutong rushed to the farthest distance from the small wooden house at breakneck speed.
She had a stroke of insight, blessed with a sudden realization, and was about to advance.
Nian Shutong had an epiphany through the Tao Te Ching, which propelled her to the Peak of Nascent Soul. When she had ventured out to Desert Star, she solidified her foundations.
Today, a mont of sudden realization gave her the feeling that cultivation was falling into place effortlessly, and advancent was within her sights.
In a certain canyon on Blue Star,
Nian Shutong sat cross-legged on the ground. A top-grade crystal stone and a sculpture of a goat reappeared, charging up.
The crystal stones shattered one by one, and it seed that the poison on the goat sculpture was also insufficient; it gradually started revealing its true form.
Advancing from the Nascent Soul to Divinity Transformation ant that Nian Shutong could split her Divine Sense into two, effectively gaining another body.
Advancing at such a significant level ant that Spiritual Energy wouldn’t just increase by several folds but by dozens or even hundreds.
With a flip of her wrist, Nian Shutong now held a sculpture of a mouse in her embrace.
The sculpture of the goat that she held slipped onto the ground, turning into a little white, fluffy lamb with curved horns.
At this ti, Nian Shutong began to absorb the poison from her surroundings, ten miles, a hundred miles, a thousand miles…
A vast expanse of poison was being absorbed into nothingness by her.
If she continued to cultivate at this speed, it wasn’t impossible for Blue Star to beco free of poison.
The little white mouse sculpture in her arms had more Spiritual Energy than a top-grade spiritual stone, endlessly providing her with Spiritual Energy. The barrier to her advancent was now as thin as a cicada’s wing.
Continue, absorb, gather strength.
When Nian Shutong was ready, she struck forcefully, charging toward that paper-thick barrier.
Surging spiritual power, like a colossal tidal wave, crashed against the paper, causing it to crack.
Nian Shutong gathered montum, charged, and smashed!
The cracks widened, scattering across the whole sheet of paper.
The paper seed unable to withstand any longer and felt as though it was trembling.
“Break for !”
With a roar, she gathered her last bit of strength for a deadly strike.
“Boom———”
Spiritual Power, like a ceaseless rushing river, broke through the barrier, and furiously pushed forward.
Nian Shutong had no ti for joy because the Heavenly Tribulation was looming.
Her spiritual power swiftly nourished her ridians. Body Refining Technique was in full operation, and Daodao was getting ready.
With each of Nian Shutong’s advancents, Daodao would also benefit, or, it could be said, he would also undergo a life-and-death experience.
To erge alive from the brink of death, isn’t that the essence of cultivation?
“Boom boom boom———boom boom boom———”
The sound alone indicated the Heavenly Tribulation was even more formidable than the last ti.
“Crack———”
The first Thunder Strike of the Heavenly Tribulation thundered down.
Nian Shutong stayed still, protecting her head with Spiritual Energy, and withstood the first strike.
The first strike was more like a probe.
Once the first strike ended, Nian Shutong stood up, clenched her fists, because she knew the remaining four Heavenly Thunders would only get stronger.
Bring it on!
Fight!
The second strike ca thundering down.
Nian Shutong jumped on the spot, soaring upward, and punched directly at the thick lightning, inviting the Thunder Strike into her body, her powerful Divine Sense enduring and guiding it through her.
Before she even landed, the third strike arrived.
“Perfect timing!”
Nian Shutong clenched her fists again and t it head-on!
This ti, the skin on her hands split open, and her bones shattered.
“Damn!”
Nian Shutong couldn’t help but curse out loud; she must be the most miserable cultivator ever!
In the Cultivation World, at least one would have one tael or two of Taoist Skills or Magic Artifacts to help withstand the onslaught.
But her? She withstood it all purely with her body.
“Daodao!”
“Present!”
Daodao had been itching to act. As soon as he appeared, a green light wove into a dense net overhead, shielding Nian Shutong’s head.
It was but a mont, the fourth Heavenly Thunder Tribulation descended majestically.
The green grid above Nian Shutong’s head shattered, one after another, constantly flashing with sparks of thunder.
Below, Nian Shutong dared not delay a second, racing against ti to repair her body. As scars marred the green net, she forcefully retracted the green light and charged upwards herself.
“Master!”
Nian Shutong curled up into a ball in mid-air, colliding with the last and most powerful Heavenly Thunder Tribulation.
Success or failure hinged on this very mont!
Without madness, who could claim to pursue Cultivation?
“Aaah————”
Nian Shutong’s whole body, as if elastic, bounced away after being struck by the Thunder Strike.
Her entire body was in shambles, covered in blood.
She fell from the sky, and just before her eyes closed, she saw the dark clouds disperse, and a myriad of dawn’s lights spread across the sky.
Indeed, she had made it through once again.
Daodao too had been seriously injured and hadn’t managed to co out in ti to catch Nian Shutong. The little sheep on the ground, however, grew proportionally larger.
Nian Shutong felt as though she had fallen into a pile of cotton, soft, smooth, comfortable.
“Master, I caught you.”
Nian Shutong no longer had the strength to speak. All her spiritual power went into absorbing and repairing through Body Refining.
A night passed.
When Nian Shutong had fully recovered, it was already the next day’s night, nearing dawn.
At that mont, she was seated on the most comfortable chair with a fluffy sensation behind her, which reminded her of her little sheep sculpture.
“Thank you for catching .”
“You’re welco! It’s Yangyang’s honor!”
The little sheep spoke especially sweetly, making a restored Nian Shutong sit up with interest and turn around to take a look at it.
“Are you a ewe or a ram?”
The little sheep had a pair of large, cartoon-like eyes—dark, bright, round, and big.
Small nose, small mouth, curly wool, just fluffy enough.
Still a handso ram or a beautiful ewe nonetheless!
“Yangyang doesn’t have a gender.”
No gender.
Nian Shutong thought perhaps it wasn’t a real animal.
For the mont, she didn’t understand but asked, “Are you good at fighting?”
Yangyang seed a bit shy, its front hooves nervously tapping on the ground.
“Master, Yangyang isn’t very good at fighting…”
“Huh?” Nian Shutong had truly thought all the zodiac animals would be fighters, possessing the strongest martial power.
So they weren’t?
She thought of her little white mouse sculpture; it must be different.
“Then what can you do?”
The little sheep, which had been bowing its head, a bit saddened and embarrassed, raised its head, its eyes moist as it said, “Yangyang is best at healing. I only know a little bit about fighting.”
Healing?
Nian Shutong did not doubt Yangyang’s words. In the vast world, she had seen many people or things in the Cultivation World that excelled at different functions.
“Alright, I understand, you are very powerful.”
Nian Shutong’s praise seed to slightly cheer up Yangyang.
Nian Shutong didn’t delay any longer, preparing to return as there were still many things to attend to.
She picked up the Mouse Sculpture from the ground; her Spiritual Power was not as dense as before, but it should still be sufficient for a bit of Cultivation.
“Brother Shu!”
Nian Shutong looked at Yangyang who had called out to Brother Shu and asked, “Do you know it?”
Yangyang’s expression was a mixture of entanglent and confusion.
“It seems familiar, but I only rember it as Brother Shu.”
Nian Shutong nodded without pursuing further questions. These zodiac animals also rembered very little.
She packed her stuff, holding the sheep which had returned to the size of half an arm, and went back to the small wooden house.
When she arrived at the small wooden house, she imdiately saw the room with the lights on belonging to Fu Yunhe.
“Ding ding ding!”
“My dear, I’m back!”
