’Eyes.’

That was what the two massive orbs, filled with lightning flashing through them, reminded Edward of. He was certain of his guess. But that increased the fear inside him.

The eyes were in the sky. He stood on the ground. Yet, they seed larger than the hill they were on. It was hard to fathom the actual size of a creature, no being, with such large eyes.

"WHY ARE YOU HERE!"

The being in the sky demanded, unperturbed by the devastation His re presence caused down below.

Edward groaned. He held his hands against his ears, trying to isolate the sound but the sound burned through his hands, prickling his auditory senses. He was forced to control his energy into his head, creating a film of protection. The pain remained but at last the film, thin as it may be, helped protect his ears from being destroyed.

Those who were a tad slow or inept in controlling their energies, laying on the ground, writhing and howling in pain as blood stread from their charred ears.

Only the Divine Lord and his Field Marshall stood at ease. Their reaction differed though. Lightning appeared around the woman as she unfurled her wings whereas the Divine Lord stood without reacting even a little.

Is this how you receive guests? I heard you acted like this but to think even I didn’t get a proper welco. You hurt , old friend.

"FRIEND?!"

The air cracked under the weight of the shout coming from the sky. The being in the sky reacted with outrage at the claim of the Divine Lord. Lightning rained, blackening the dust and soil around them.

’His attacks aren’t aid at us?’ Edward noticed the peculiarity in the action. Enraged as He seed, the being in the sky attacked everywhere except the hill they stood on. This let Edward realize sothing. ’He is angry but isn’t willing to burn the bridge between Him and the Divine Lord.’

Aren’t we friends?

"YOU USED ."

Well, yes. And you used .

"YOU USED AS A SHIELD."

And you used as bait.

"YOU LEFT TO DIE."

I died.

The being in the sky fell silent. Edward gasped for breath, resting on his knees. The exchange between the two convinced him that those two were indeed allies. Two backstabbing, selfish beings with the Divine Lord being the brains and the other the brawl.

"WHY ARE YOU HERE?"

Although the voice still caused pain to the listeners and blasted the air toward the ground, Edward could tell it lacked the initial fury. Now, He sounded just annoyed.

Although you don’t like to think, I am sure you know the reason behind my visit. The End of the Ages is upon us. This ti, history will be written in our nas. Do you wish to be on the front page of this new piece of history or be lost in the pages?

"YOU CLAID SOTHING SIMILAR THE LAST TI TOO. AS I REMBER, YOU BECA HISTORY."

Despite the thunderous noise being painful, Edward could swear the being in the sky sounded gleeful saying that.

Indeed. But you know better than most that I am the kind of history that keeps repeating itself until I don’t get what I want.

"INDEED. YOU ARE A PEST IN THAT WAY. DIFFICULT TO GET RID OF."

Perhaps. Isn’t that more reason to join again? The last ti we tead up, you breezed through the stages, starting from the Devil Stage and ending up as a Taboo.

’Taboo? The highest stage a nonhuman creature can reach?’ Sohow, learning that he was in the presence of soone capable of destroying and creating history itself, Edward grew numb to the pain.

A glance at a small number of others around him, who sat up with their mouths and eyes wide open, he knew he wasn’t the only one shocked.

"HMPF. I NEARLY DIED."

But you didn’t.

"SO? SHOULD I CONTINUE TILL I DIE?"

No. Till dying becos impossible.

Silence. Once again all the noise and sound disappeared. This ti for a longer period. They waited.

Edward felt his heart beat louder and louder with each passing second. The noise had hurt but the silence was killing them.

The Divine Lord, great and unfathomable as he was, wasn’t strong enough to triumph over a Taboo. That much Edward was certain of.

Even if He survived, Edward didn’t doubt he wouldn’t. That’s why his fear grew. Fear of dying. Fear of losing ti with her. Fear of losing her. Fear filled him.

’Hmmm?’ The fear overwheld his senses to the point he struggled to understand why everything seed bright.

’Wait. It doesn’t seem bright. It is.’ With a start he rubbed his eyes and looked around. The darkness had disappeared. Light shone everywhere once more. It was day again.

’What happened?’ Edward watched confused at the others. He hoped to get soone who could explain. Alas. A quick look around showed that the others hadn’t even woken up from their shock.

"I warn you. If you pull any trick this ti, I will join that old bastard in a snap. Or that starry-eyed bitch in her tower. Are we clear?"

The noise wasn’t thundering anymore. Still, Edward recognized it at once. The Taboo. Without considering the potential dangers, he looked in the direction of the Divine Lord.

He was still in his spot. As was the Marshall. But they weren’t alone. A girl hovered in the air before the Lord.

The girl’s appearance reminded Edward a little of Althea. They didn’t look like each other. It was just that they both looked like faeries from Heaven. Althea was. Perhaps this one was too.

She had bluish hair, fair skin, and multicolored wings. Not the feathery type. No, more like those of a butterfly.

All, et our first Ally doing the campaign. Her na isn’t required. Just know a real Taboo is now with us. She is like a butterfly whose wings cause storms all around the world. With her at our own side I am sure we will have these lands soon under one rule. My rule.
