Chapter 42: Moonbust Is A Go
When the blue light of the teleportation had engulfed , I knew what to expect when appearing on the other side.
Lila had inford that all teleportation portal pads led to the sa location and it was the sa place where mbers would be leaving from and where they would return. So, by that logic, the mont I jumped through the portal there would be a gang of mbers waiting in line for their turn to go the now-activated portals.
“Hello world!” I yelled and proceeded to activate [Scorched Nova] to blast away the room.
Being stealthy was never going to be an option. The teleportation pad sent right into the heart of the teleportation hub. To be honest, I was surprised when I heard they kept them all in one area, it seed like a thing they would avoid doing if able to.
Espr, do you know if any Dominous Hood mbers successfully made it through the teleportation pads?
(“ I don’t. There is the chance one to five might have made it through, as that was the number of pads that existed before you blew them all up ”)
As the light dimd, a black armoured figure lunged towards .
Let’s try the fourth point.
I poured mana and Fire energy into my armour, the outer plates shined a bright red and heat emitted from my being.
I intercepted the attack and knocked them off balance with my right arm, but they were able to twist their hand towards , breaking a bone in the process and then fired a beam of crackling lightning which I decided to tank.
The lightning crashed into , and it did nothing, vanishing the mont it ca into contact with the bright red armour.
This is more effective than my [Fla Lord Armour].
I judged the attack to be weak enough for base to be able to endure, even if I would’ve taken so damage, so it was a good test of the armour's effectiveness in actual combat.
With that attack failing to do anything. Within less than a second my outstretched arm swung down and tore a hole through the Hood mber, accidentally burning their insides in the process.
Espr replied to my comnt.
(“ That’s not saying much when by Fire is an inferior energy for shielding, but I do concur, it is a much better ”)
With my first enemy properly killed, and a few more very injured–those that were caught unaware in my first [Scorched Nova].
I said aloud, which they couldn’t hear because of my suit, “Well ti to do the prep work.”
I blasted a hole in the ceiling breaking through the tal and rock. I then jumped and [Burst] into the sky.
I quickly created four [Solar Orbs] and used [Scorched Extinction] twice.
Fourteen dark orange orbs of [Scorched Extinction] appeared behind . The second set was smaller and I was letting it slowly grow for the mont.
Chunk of mana is gone, but that’s to be expected.
Na: Ceella Stella (Celestira Luxpoir) | Race: [Human?]
Level 301 | Awakened
Mana: 68%
I used a lot of extra mana to speed up the deploynt of multiple skills already, and speaking of which it was ti to use them.
Down below was the filthy moon rock that was Dominous Hood’s base. I could see a few tal buildings that connected underground with a large structure.
“Burn.”
Within a second of my ascent, Dominous Hood mbers were already after , so I gave them and their base a warm welco. By dropping one set of [Scorched Extinction] orbs below .
Sensing the danger, so tried to jump back or deploy shields.
BOOM
Dark orange fire cried, screaming alive, digging into the ground and flooding everything with glorious destruction. A large smile was hidden beneath my helt.
But I wasn’t going to risk standing still. I may be the intruder who was here to kill, but I wasn’t the one who needed to go after them.
I [Burst] away from the scene, though my bright red armour made myself pretty obvious to the few that weren’t struggling within the fire. One good thing about fighting humans instead of monsters was that they were a lot less durable. Their amour does help but does not guarantee safety when being subrged in that terrifying fire.
I ran across the ground to save mana while Dominous Hood slowly started their chase.
(“ So I need to ask, do you have a plan outside of flying around killing every lifeform on this pathetic rock? ”)
Well, actually I do.
Once I was a good distance away from the pursuing Hood goons, I focused on the [Scorched Extinction] orbs and brought them together.
The dark ball of energy radiated heat, “Now for the finishing touches, [Solar Force].”
An additional layer of bright orange layer of sun energy covered the ball.
An extra powerful bomb. Might tear out a good hole in this moon if used out here, but I’m going to need a little more than that.
I created a drill of starlight with the payload in the centre.
“Down you go!” I watched the drill tear apart the rock it touched as it travelled down over fifty tres in a matter of monts.
(“ …That’s digging slower than you probably expected ”)
“Yep…”
It was going at a decent pace before it started to heavily slow down. The internal layers of rock in the moon were a lot harder than I thought they would be.
(“ Is it at least going to blow up in a reasonable ti? ”)
Depends, is twenty ~ thirty minutes reasonable?
(“ You should’ve used more mana and made the process faster. The drilling and explosion ”)
Well, that sounds great and all–
I had kept moving around with [Burst] after I made the drill, I didn’t want them to see the hole I was digging.
Then out of the shadow underneath , an armoured hand erged stretching to snatch my leg.
“–But realistically–” I grabbed the hand and pumped a large amount of Sun energy into it.
[Solar Overload].
The arm lted and an explosion of heat destroyed one of the Hood mbers chasing .
“–Most of the strong mbers will still be alive even with the moon collapsing, and I’m for sure not going to let them stay around.”
I preferred to save my mana and starlight for the big fights. Whoever these team leaders were that Lila ntioned, they might even be strong enough for to use so of my more ergency options. Honestly, I was more worried about individuals Lilia didn’t ntion. She only knew the basic structure of the hierarchy of this base, and there could also be a couple of top dogs she didn’t know of.
As well, even if I could kind of fly with [Burst], it was easier to fight while on the ground. And so once the moon did go boom, if anyone had an actual flying ability that would put at a disadvantage.
(“ The more you speak, the more I believe you should have left the destruction of the moon until after you deal with Dominous Hood ”)
Maybe.
I kicked away a Hood soldier that slingshot themselves towards , I deactivated the fourth point on my suit by lowering my mana flow into it and left it to rest on the second point.
The bright flair of my armour faded, while my figure was still a beacon to my pursuers thanks to the [Solar Orbs] behind my back.
But I would rather destroy this base now, so they don’t have a platform to jump off from.
I turned around to face the Hood goons that were chasing . So were riding hoverboards, others sprinted across the ground, and a small few were flying with jetpacks or crystal tallic wings.
It did seem only the small fry were after currently, which I didn’t know if that ant upper managent thought light of or that they were currently busy.
I waved my hand forward, and the shape of my anger appeared behind .
One after another [Fire Arrow] after [Fire Arrow] spawned, totalling over five hundred within a mont. So Hood mbers braved on unfazed, but a few paused upon the creation of the wall behind .
Plus, it’s a contingency plan if things go awry.
(“ You think there is a chance for you to die? ”)
Espr asked, shocked at what they thought my thought process was leading to.
“No.” I declared, the arrows behind multiplied by five, “That will never be a possibility.”
