Hearing Chen Zhengnian’s words, his two comrades exchanged a glance.

"Su Tang, I t two really weird guys today."
Hearing this, Su Tang paused her foot on the sewing machine’s pedal and turned to look at her.
"Weird? How so?"
"I don’t even know them, but they ca right up and asked if I was seeing soone. They’re from Chen Zhengnian’s battalion."
Wang Xinxin fidgeted with a colorful scrap of fabric in her hand. Su Tang raised an eyebrow at her words.
"You don’t know him? Could he be the one who ca to propose a blind date last ti?"
Evidently, Su Tang had connected the dots. Wang Xinxin nodded and said it was possible.
But in reality, it was the first ti she had ever t those two. Who knew why they were asking such a question?
"It seems our Xinxin is attracting admirers left and right lately. Romance is following you everywhere."
Su Tang’s teasing made Wang Xinxin’s face flush red. She pouted and flopped onto her side.
"Oh, Su Tang, stop it! I’m so stressed out about this."
"I ca here to work, not to find a boyfriend. Why do they keep bothering ?"
Wang Xinxin’s words gave Su Tang a perfect demonstration of what it ans to be completely oblivious when it cos to romance.
’It was like casting pearls before swine. The guy had sent people all the way here to inquire about her, and she was just annoyed by it.’
Still, it was a good thing. At least it ant the things Wang Xinxin’s mother worried about wouldn’t happen.
Su Tang had learned from a chat with Mrs. Lu that Wang Xinxin’s mother thought she would never find a partner here, since the place was so remote and sowhat barren.
Even if she did find soone, Wang Xinxin’s mother would still worry.
But now it seed the n pursuing Wang Xinxin were all quite eligible. The problem was that Wang Xinxin herself wasn’t interested.
"So there’s not a single one you’ve taken a liking to?"
"Not a single one. Right now, all I want to do is contribute to building up our country."
Wang Xinxin sat up and declared this, making Su Tang smile without a word.
"Alright then. It looks like your romantic prospects will have to wait. Since you’re not interested, the next ti they ask, just tell them you’re already seeing soone."
"Once they know you’re spoken for, they won’t bother you again. But if you say that, no one will approach you for a while, so you should think it through."
After saying this, Su Tang turned back around and continued with her work.
Just now, seeing the scrap of fabric in Wang Xinxin’s hand, she was suddenly reminded of the trendy scarf scrunchies from her modern life. She could make a few for Wang Xinxin.

"Mr. Lu, you’re acting like you’re three years old, tops. Getting jealous of a child, especially one who isn’t even born yet."
