Doctor ng listened to Su Tang and looked up at her.

Indeed, the pre-op diagnosis report in Su Tang’s hand showed faint traces of pencil erasure.

Su Tang walked in, reached out to close the door, and placed the diagnosis report on the desk.

Only she and Doctor ng were in the quiet office.

"Doctor ng, I believe I’ve said this before. I’m not here to fight over power or profit."

"We’re both doctors. As doctors, our primary responsibility is to our patients, right?"

Su Tang pulled out a nearby chair and sat down, crossing her arms and leaning back.

She crossed her legs, looking completely at ease.

Anyone who didn’t know better would have thought Su Tang was on a leisurely vacation.

"If you have sothing to say, just say it. There’s no need to beat around the bush."

Doctor ng snorted coldly, leaning against the desk opposite her.

She didn’t believe for a second that Su Tang would be kind enough not to report her now that she had the evidence.

A faint smile touched Su Tang’s lips as she said lightly, "Doctor ng, I’ve already said what I ca to say."

Hearing this, Doctor ng’s eyes widened. ’She’s done?’

"You..."

’No, Su Tang is holding such crucial evidence. There’s no way she’s just here to say a sentence or two.’

’This woman is incredibly calculating. I can’t fall for her tricks.’

"Doctor Su, you ca to see just to say those few words?"

Su Tang looked at the forced composure on Doctor ng’s face and shook her head gently.

She curled her fingers and tapped on the desk.

"Doctor ng, have you ever noticed the moss that grows in the corner of a wall?"

She suddenly changed the subject, her gaze sweeping over a wilted cactus on the windowsill.

"It looks insignificant, but if it disappears, the base of the wall loses a protective layer. After enough wind and rain, it’s bound to collapse."

"Doctor ng, you’re a very skilled doctor. To have fought your way to this position at your age already makes you more capable than most. So, as your junior, let offer a piece of advice: don’t waste your energy on crooked paths."

Doctor ng, of course, understood the hidden aning. But having been proud for most of her life, she couldn’t bear being lectured by a junior like this.

’Isn’t Su Tang just saying that I’m targeting her on purpose?’

’But if I don’t target her and I get forced out of the hospital, where else can I go at my age?’

She had endured so much pressure to get into this hospital, fighting her way to her current position with ruthless determination and a scalpel in hand.

And now she was supposed to show weakness in front of this young woman? The indignation was a lump in her throat she couldn’t swallow.

"Spare the act. If you’re going to report , go to the director’s office. Don’t stand here shedding crocodile tears!"

Doctor ng remained stubborn, her words a desperate attempt to save face.

Su Tang felt helpless. In the end, she said nothing more and left.

’I’ll let it go this ti,’ she decided. ’But if there’s a next ti, I won’t be so lenient.’

Doctor ng watched Su Tang’s figure disappear through the doorway. Seeing the diagnosis report left behind, she walked over and tore it to shreds.

’I will stay here forever.’

「Ever since Su Tang’s talk with Doctor ng that day, the older doctor seed to have genuinely settled down.」

She stopped causing trouble for Su Tang and kept a respectable distance between them.

Su Tang enjoyed the peace. As long as Doctor ng truly stopped bothering her, she had no reason to say anything more.

One day, Su Tang received a call from Vice Director Jiang, who said he needed her to co back for sothing.

"It doesn’t have much to do with you, actually, but we need you to be present. Xiao Su, co back when you have a mont."

Vice Director Jiang Kang had helped Su Tang a great deal, so she didn’t refuse his request.

When she got ho that evening, she ntioned it to Lu Xiao. He simply said it was probably about Su Xinyao.

"No wonder Vice Director Jiang Kang said he needed to be present."

As they talked, Lu Xiao placed a piece of at in Su Tang’s bowl.

"I’ll go with you. I’m worried Su Xinyao might be at the end of her rope and do sothing drastic."

Hearing him say that, Su Tang nodded.

After all, this was the protagonist of the original book. Su Tang was also worried about unexpected complications.

「When the weekend arrived, Su Tang and Lu Xiao went to her forr hospital.」

Su Tang navigated the familiar halls to Vice Director Jiang Kang’s office, where she found him waiting.

And... sitting to the side was Su Xinyao.

"Xiao Su, co in, co in. Have a seat."

Vice Director Jiang Kang enthusiastically ushered Su Tang and Lu Xiao to their seats, then turned and closed the door.

"Here’s the situation, Xiao Su. The reason I called you back today is that our hospital received an anonymous tip."

As he spoke, he placed the letter and so docunts on the desk.

"We’ve verified the contents of the tip. Half of it is unfounded."

Hearing Vice Director Jiang Kang’s words, Su Tang’s brow furrowed slightly.

’Unfounded?’

’How could that be? Lu Xiao and Geng spent so much ti digging this up.’

’Geng’s sources are never wrong.’

After Vice Director Jiang Kang finished speaking, Su Xinyao’s face turned deathly pale.

"Vice Director, I know Su Tang has always had a problem with , but to use sothing like this to ruin my reputation... that’s just low."

With that, Su Xinyao covered her face and began to sob.

’Her pitiful act is truly nauseating.’

A cold glint flashed in Su Xinyao’s eyes.

’I can’t believe Lu Xiao actually managed to find out what I did abroad.’

’Good thing I had Su Rui’an help erase those traces ahead of ti.’

’And for anything that couldn’t be erased, I just bought my way out of it. I have to stay here, no matter what.’

’I absolutely cannot repeat the suffering of my past life.’

Seeing Su Xinyao act this way, Su Tang knew she had co prepared.

’The original female lead of the book is as difficult to deal with as I expected.’

"Since you say the claims are unfounded, Vice Director, I have nothing more to say. You know the kind of person I am."

"I don’t lie, nor would I forge evidence for my own selfish reasons."

After saying this, Su Tang stood up, her gaze falling on Su Xinyao.

"Cousin, I believe you know better than I do what the facts are and what the truth is."

’Since Su Xinyao loves to act, I’ll let her,’ she thought. ’Let’s see just how long she can keep up the performance.’

With that, Su Tang turned and left with Lu Xiao.

The sound of hurried footsteps, CLICK-CLACK-CLICK, ca from behind them. It was Su Xinyao.

She rushed forward to block Su Tang’s path.

"Su Tang, are you trying to ruin ?"

The mont Su Xinyao finished speaking, Su Tang’s gaze turned ice-cold.

"Ruin you? Su Xinyao, that’s a funny thing to say. Who exactly is ruining whom?"

"Did you think that by having soone clean up your sses, you’d be perfectly safe?"

Su Tang let go of Lu Xiao’s hand and advanced on Su Xinyao, step by step.

"Weren’t you the one who drugged with sleeping pills to steal that spot to study abroad? Weren’t you the one who, in your greed for a life of leisure, gave up your status as a legitimate university student overseas and enrolled in a short-term training course instead?"

"If you’re going to steal a spot soone else worked so hard to earn, you should at least cherish it, not treat it as sothing you’re entitled to."
