Everyone was sitting in the noble carriage at this mont. The exquisite wooden decoration inside, the luxurious seats, the thick curtains, the fine carpets, and the intricately carved furniture made one feel as if they were in so special banquet hall—if one ignored the scenery moving past outside the window.
Lucy, knowing it was a long journey, got up and walked towards the carriage ahead, preparing to have so snacks and take a nap in the lounge carriage. As she passed by Ciel, Ciel called out to her.
“Lucy.” Ciel looked at Lucy and asked.
“Coin?”
This was very important. If Lucy’s “Strong Luck Coin” was tails today, Ciel would have to consider having her go and stay in the last carriage by herself.
“Don’t worry, Miss Ciel. If it were tails, the train probably wouldn’t have started moving.”
Lucy said with a slight chuckle.
Ciel slightly nodded, no longer interfering with Lucy’s action of walking towards the carriage ahead.
She leaned against the soft cushion behind her and closed her eyes, relaxing a little. She didn’t have much to carry. Her luggage consisted of dozens of books she planned to read. She intended to spend the 12 hours on the train with these.
It was lunchti. No one on the train had eaten yet. The train attendants pushed the dining cart and brought over the prepared refreshnts and drinks. Then the accompanying maids distributed them to everyone.
Adele, who had boarded the train, seed to have completely forgotten her previous nervousness. The others had just sat down for a short while, and she was already gone.
After a while, she ran from the back carriage to Ciel’s side, pointed towards the back of the carriage, and said with so excitent, “Ciel! There’s actually a bar carriage in the back! And a bathroom carriage too!”
Amy was a little carsick and wasn’t very enthusiastic. Avena definitely wouldn’t be surprised by any of this. And Lichie and Adele weren’t very familiar with each other. Nia was just a silent tal can. Now, the only person she could think of sharing her joy with was Ciel.
At least Ciel never dampened her spirits.
“Then we’ll have to use the bathroom when we get off the train, so Avena loses a little less.”
Ciel’s gaze shifted from her book. She looked at Adele and said with a smile.
“That’s true.”
Adele said thoughtfully, “And we should eat more... How much do we need to eat to make up for it?”
You could eat the whole train and still not break even.
Avena, sitting opposite Ciel, looked a little helpless.
However, Adele’s enthusiasm ca and went quickly. After lunch, she went to the soft sleeper to sleep. Amy, who was carsick, also went to rest in the soft sleeper after saying goodbye to Ciel and Avena.
Lichie also felt uncomfortable riding the train and went to the lounge carriage. At this mont, in the noble carriage, only Ciel and Avena remained, along with Nia standing behind Avena and Tara standing behind Ciel.
Ciel continued to read, while Avena was flipping through the newspapers of major Ansu City publications from recent tis, even picking out ones from a few months ago. She seed to be looking for business opportunities.
Ti flowed by peacefully, just like water, until half past eleven in the evening.
Outside the train, it was completely dark. Except for the occasional towns and stations they passed, there was almost no visible light. However, the starry sky was quite bright.
Ciel hadn’t closed her eyes the entire ti. After glancing at the ti, she looked out the window again.
At this mont, Ciel could already see the brightly lit Ansu City in the distance. Upon seeing the city skyline, Ciel’s heart also slowly sighed in relief.
A close call, but finally arrived in Ansu City safely...
“Tara, help wake up the others. We are about to get off the train.”
Ciel whispered instructions to Tara.
“Yes, Lord Ciel.”
Tara, who had been standing behind Ciel almost all day, received Ciel’s command and walked towards the carriage ahead.
Ciel’s gaze was fixed on Avena before her.
At this mont, Avena’s glasses were already off. A large pile of newspapers was spread out in front of her. At this mont, she was lying face down on that pile of newspapers, seemingly fast asleep.
It was past Avena’s bedti. She had been lying face down in front of Ciel for almost two or three hours, but because she wanted to keep Ciel company, she hadn’t returned to the sleeper carriage alone.
“Avena, wake up. We’re almost there...”
Ciel leaned forward slightly, rubbed Avena’s head, and said softly.
Avena, who was already sleeping lightly lying face down, let out a soft muffled hum. She opened her eyes and looked up at Ciel with so confusion, asking, “Are we there...?”
“Mm. You can sleep at the hotel.”
Ciel took out a handkerchief and wiped the saliva from the corner of Avena’s mouth.
This action completely woke Avena up. She quickly covered the pile of newspapers in front of her, concealing the small, darker area.
“Clang... clang...”
The train had already started to slow down. Because there were few stops, the arrival speed was much faster than Ciel had expected.
The train passed through Aiden Town and entered Ansu City. After passing through a small part of the urban area, it stopped at Euston Station.
It was close to midnight, but the station was crowded with people.
Looking at the crowd on the platform not far away, Ciel’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“What are those? Soldiers?”
Ciel looked at the people standing on the platform and asked.
Avena followed Ciel’s gaze and frowned slightly.
“It seems... those few nobles and the railway company weren’t very honest...”
“Those are from the Roswell family.”
