【Future Days: 107 Days (Holy Year 741, October 25th, 12:00) (Cost: 200 Fate Points)】

Still seven days...

Ciel looked at the silver-white panel before her. The unease in her heart dissipated slightly.

At least, the system’s simulation ti hadn’t changed. She could still simulate until October 25th. This at least proved that she could live well until October 25th.

But this only proved that she could live until then. She couldn’t infer anything else from this.

After Ashford left, Lucy looked at Ciel and said, “Miss Ciel, I heard you are going to Ansu City?”

This was Lucy’s purpose for coming here. It was just slightly disrupted by Ashford’s visit just now.

“Yes.” Ciel slightly nodded.

Ashford had just coincidentally t Ciel, but Lucy definitely had investigated her itinerary. She just didn’t know how she did it.

Most likely, Avena chartering a whole train was a bit too conspicuous.

However, she had also promised Lucy earlier that she would call her when she went to Ansu City, so Ciel didn’t mind her investigative actions too much.

“Coincidentally, I am also planning to go to Ansu City tomorrow. Could you please inform Miss Avena and allow to hitch a ride?”

Lucy was very bold and shalessly asked for a ride. “I will pay for the fare.”

“Co early tomorrow.” Ciel nodded.

“Thank you for your generosity, Miss Ciel.”

Lucy smiled and stood up. Suddenly, she thought of sothing and looked at Ciel, saying, “Oh, right, Miss Ciel, when the new ‘Death Ga’ project is completed and the unveiling ceremony begins, would you be willing to co to the site?”

Lucy knew Ciel would most likely not go. If Ciel didn’t go, Lucy could claim most of the credit and rewards. However, she still had to pretend to ask.

Miss Ciel could choose not to go, but she couldn’t not extend the invitation. This was a matter of courtesy.

“I’ll pass.”

Ciel shook her head, not interested in these matters.

“Alright. If there are any rewards, I will send them to you.”

Lucy slightly bowed to Ciel, then walked out of the reception room with a smile.

Promoted and raising salary! It’s secured!

As for the bonus, it didn’t matter if she gave it all to Ciel. What Lucy valued most were position and authority.

If the results were truly good, she might be successively promoted several ranks, directly from Senior Commissioner to Executive Director... She would then truly be part of the senior managent of Deton Group.

The reason she refused the position of Regional Manager and remained an Executive Commissioner at headquarters was for such direct promotion opportunities...

If she were sent out to be a Regional Manager, she could indeed make a lot of money, but it would be difficult to return to the center.

This was also a gamble, betting on her own luck. Now it seed, Lucy had gambled correctly.

Indeed, she was a favored child of destiny. She had never lost a gamble since entering the transcendent world.

Of course, being a Senior Commissioner on external assignnt wasn’t bad either, but for her, the board of directors offered a wider scope, you see.

While thinking, Lucy smiled and got into the carriage. Only after closing the carriage door did she completely fail to suppress her smile. She leaned back and burst into laughter.

...

Around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, Avena returned to the manor with Nia.

The first thing Avena did upon returning was to find Ciel in the study and exchange information.

Avena gave up so of her interests, allowing the railway company to transfer 20,000 pounds to her account. In the short term, Avena likely wouldn’t have to worry about money problems, but she hadn’t thought of an investnt direction for this money as startup capital.

Ciel also inford Avena about Ashford’s visit, and that the Redemption Society’s assistant lecturer, Fred Hopkins, was still missing. It was estimated that he had already left Berren City.

This was dangerous information.

After having dinner with the others in the manor, Avena had the servants prepare guest rooms on the third floor for the others, and had Nia stand guard throughout the night.

The butler, along with a few personal maids Avena trusted, and Tara, packed up so of Avena’s belongings from the manor overnight. They packed over thirty suitcases, mostly large and small.

What could be quickly taken were mostly transcendent creations, precious jewelry, valuable books, and manuscripts. These were the items Avena deed necessary to take even after trying to simplify as much as possible.

As for art pieces like paintings and sculptures, and antique furniture and gold and silver ware, Avena left them in the manor to be managed by the butler.

No wonder Avena needed to charter an entire train. The things that needed to be transported were probably worth several full sets of trains, even luxury ones.

Fortunately, nothing unusual happened until the morning of the 11th. The luggage was basically loaded onto the freight carriages, forming a low-key convoy.

At seven in the morning, Lucy had already arrived at the manor entrance on horseback and greeted Avena.

Ciel, who had already washed up and had breakfast, slightly counted the number of people.

Nia, Lichie, Avena, Adele, Amy, Tara, Lucy, plus herself, the main group consisted of 8 people.

3 luxury carriages, 3 freight carriages, plus 3 accompanying maids and 6 coachn. This was the entire configuration of the convoy.

They needed to travel by carriage to a station in another city—Berren City did not yet have a direct train to Ansu City—then board a train there and head to Ansu City.

The entire journey would take almost 14 hours. They should be able to arrive in Ansu City before nightfall.

This was already the most efficient thod, even with the cooperation of the steam train’s departure speed.
