Hearing the word “Subverter” from an ordinary person’s mouth was a bit jarring, but...

“How could a ‘Subverter’ from the Society of rrint expose their whereabouts... Miss Ciel, where did you get this information?”

Lucy shook her head, clearly not believing it.

Did you think “Subverters” are like cabbages? You can just find one or two on the street?

Many historical events, it was only long after they happened, when re-examined, that it was discovered there might have been “Subverters” behind them... If a “Subverter’s” whereabouts could be tracked, that “Subverter” might as well be dead.

“According to reliable intelligence from the organization... it is indeed true,”

Ciel said, “A ‘Subverter’ with the codena ‘Keyman’ has arrived in Berren City.”

“Or... organization?”

Lucy looked at Avena with so confusion and asked, “What organization?”

Avena glanced at Ciel. Seeing Ciel nod in agreent, Avena looked at Lucy and said:

“Miss Ciel’s organization has excellent intelligence capabilities. They even predicted the presence of the Divine Advent Church at Deton Manor... beforehand.”

“Huh?”

Lucy’s gaze shifted from Avena to Ciel. She gasped, “You knew beforehand? But why didn’t you tell the Group...”

“The Group has an insider, Your Excellency Lucy,”

Ciel just smiled and shook her head, explaining, “We have used the minimum possible casualties thod to help you deal with those cultists.”

You... dealt with them?

No wonder so many cultists died on the spot. Turns out there was a secret organization plotting behind the scenes.

Moreover, from the expression on that Miss Roswell’s face, she clearly trusted this mysterious person nad Ciel completely, and likely had even witnessed the other party’s organization’s capabilities...

Right...

Miss Ciel said she was also present when sothing happened at Deton Manor...

So Miss Roswell and Miss Ciel were involved in what happened there together... No wonder after searching for so long, she couldn’t find out what happened afterwards...

She is definitely not an ordinary person...

Instantly, Lucy realized.

She looked up at the red-haired young girl with a smile, suppressing the confusing fear that kept surging in her heart. She took a deep breath and said:

“I will not tell anyone about our conversation this afternoon, Miss Ciel.”

Setting the stage by inviting her, then displaying abilities she completely didn’t understand, and then telling her such confidential matters... Clearly, everything earlier was just a test.

She had already learned the secret of that hidden organization, and the other party seed completely unconcerned that she knew. Lucy was sure that the other party had backup plans.

Otherwise, it would be impossible that she had never heard any news about this organization until now.

But at this mont, the excitent surging in her heart had overwheld Lucy’s fear. She finally knew what the danger and gains hinted at by the initial Tarot card spread were.

The red-haired young girl before her, and the organization behind her...

The path of “Redemption” lay within it.

“What do you plan to do?”

Lucy had switched to using honorifics, asking in a low voice.

First, she wanted to confirm what the organization’s purpose was.

“We cannot allow the Society of rrint’s ‘Subverter’ to cause trouble in Berren City. Many people will die,”

Ciel looked at Lucy before her, slightly nodding and saying, “We will control the ‘Keyman’ and invite you to execute her, Miss Lucy.”

Invite to... execute her?

Lucy looked at the “olive branch” extended before her, her mind racing.

They could find the “Subverter’s” whereabouts and even control that “Subverter.” They could definitely kill and deal with her themselves. But why invite her to perform the final step and share the spoils?

The other party was a hidden organization and didn’t want to be exposed to the pleasure-seeking Society of rrint. They wanted her to take the lead—this was the only possibility Lucy could think of.

Also, she could clearly feel the friendliness the other party was showing—this was likely an opportunity for her to gain a deeper understanding of, or even join, that mysterious organization.

Agree?

Of course. Why even think about it? Only a fool would refuse when such a formidable organization extended an olive branch to her.

Although the Society of rrint was a bunch of lunatics, the least thing to worry about was retaliation from the Society of rrint—the word “retaliation” was not in those lunatics’ dictionary.

In that organization, only the living were mbers of the Society of rrint. The dead were just useless. This was the belief of the Society of rrint.

“You an, that ‘Subverter’ from the Society of rrint, after instigating the Divine Advent Church to cause destruction at Deton Manor, is going to cause trouble with a secret plan in Berren City again?”

The friendship of a hidden organization, a “Subverter” to take the bla, and the wealth on that “Subverter”...

This was a good situation.

I’ll bet on it!

Lucy’s expression beca indignant. She looked at Ciel and said righteously:

“Executing such a scoundrel should naturally be left to . After executing the Keyman, I will take her body back to the Group and expose her heinous acts! Let all mbers know what she has done!”

“Let also do my part, Your Excellency.”

Ciel looked at Lucy before her and gently nodded.

For such a long ti, Lucy was the most proactive transcendent she had ever t.

Ciel stood up. Across the table, she extended her right hand.

“Pleasure working with you.”
