Kiii!
The Scorpion screeched once again. Rather than frustration, this ti, the shrieking was more due to the pain that it was experiencing.
As the thick cloud of dust finally began dissipating, the figure of the scorpion was revealed. Unlike the previous tis that the scorpion was completely unhard, this ti, the carapace was done apart in one of its pincers.
Although the injury that the scorpion had suffered was not that big, but, it was so deep that Olivia and Adam could see the flesh that was beneath the carapace.
Just as the scorpion was about to continue shrieking, another arrow shot towards it. Diana who had just appeared did not seem to have the intention of giving the Scorpion a chance to escape.
As she released the elental arrow, several arrows dived towards the scorpion. And when the scorpion saw this, it waved its pincers to block the attacks.
But, it realized that the strength that was possessed by the arrows was imnse. Although they could not compare to the attack that had landed on It previously, still, they were weakening the defenses of the carapace.
The Scorpion was not good when it ca to close combat. Instead, it was good at sneak attacks. If it was a human, it would have been nad an assassin.
Although it possessed incredible defenses, still, they were not capable of preventing the attacks that were landing on it from causing it pain.
Completely ignoring the attacks, the scorpion again managed to burrow itself into the ground. This ti, it did not leave behind a shadow. It was clear that the humans that it was facing this ti had already realized its skill.
Diana who was standing so distance away was composed despite the fact that the scorpion had escaped. Of course, she knew that there was no way that this scorpion was going to get out of here.
Anyway, they were the ones that had co over to attack. So, unless the leader of the monsters decided that they were going to retreat, there was no way that the scorpion was going to do so.
"Just target behind Olivia. This scorpion seems to be targeting her. So, we have to be prepared to attack the mont that the Scorpion appears." Adam stated as he prepared himself to charge forward.
Currently, the distance between him and Olivia was not that big. Anyway, if they fought together, they were going to increase the chances of preventing the scorpion from continuously sneaking around.
Just as Adam finished speaking, he suddenly realized that Diana was aiming towards him. He could not help but frown a little. He could understand if this was Sarah or Olivia. But, why was it that even Diana was intending to attack him?
Although Olivia had attacked him previously without any ill intent, still, he never liked it. How was he supposed to trust another person with his life in the apocalypse that easily?
"What’s wrong? Is there sothing that I..." Adam had not finished what he was intending to say when Diana released the arrow.
Adam’s pupils contracted. Knowing that if he faced that arrow, he might actually get a little injured, Adam imdiately crouched onto the ground.
Anyway, it was not as if he had to face the arrow head-on. Since Diana was a distance away, then, he utilized that chance to avoid the arrow. But still, there was fury in his heart.
He could not understand the reason why Diana had decided to attack him. Anyway, he knew that Diana was Henry’s summoned creature. So, if she was going to attack him, didn’t that an that she was rebelling against Henry?
Not even for a single mont did Adam think that Henry was the one that had ordered Diana to attack him. Anyway, the two of them were brothers and had grown up together. There was not a ti that they had a grudge against each other.
Just after Adam crouched onto the ground, he suddenly felt the ground tremoring. And at that exact mont, he realized why Diana had attacked.
Boom!
The ground behind him was crushed as a long tail whipped out of the ground. It was heading towards Adam. And, had he not crouched down, then, according to the trajectory of the tail, that tail was going to pierce him.
Bang!
No sooner had the tail appeared, did the arrow that had been shot by Diana arrived. The two collided and a shockwave was created. Although Adam was good physically, he was still forced to retreat a few steps backwards.
At the sa ti, the entire body of the scorpion finally appeared from the ground. The arrow had managed to prevent the scorpion from hitting the target.
Adam on the other hand seed a little furious. He looked at the scorpion that was looking at him with its dark eyes angrily. Then, he shouted, "What the F*ck is up with you? Why are you targeting this ti? Were you not targeting Olivia not long ago? How co you have already changed the target?!"
When Adam shouted those words, Diana and Olivia both looked at him with weird gazes. They could not help but wonder if this guy was a retard or sothing. Had it not been that they had known that this guy had so brains, they would have surely thought that this guy had already beco an idiot.
"What the hell are you yapping about? The monster is just closer to you, are you going to give it a chance to escape?" Olivia shouted with a displeased voice. At the sa ti, she conjured several ice spears as she threw them forward.
At the sa ti, she tried using the ice prison to contain the scorpion. The reason why she had not been able to deal with this scorpion until now was simply because it was escaping after failing an attack.
It was only after Olivia had shouted at him that Adam finally reacted. Though, he did not find fault in what he had just said not long ago. After all, he had been expecting that just like always, the monster was going to appear behind Olivia, trying to attack her.
That was the reason why he had been paying keen attention to the movents around Olivia. But by doing so, he had almost completely neglected the movents around him.
Bang! Bang!
The Scorpion utilized its tail and the two pincers to block the attacks. But, just like how it had happened to the bear, the cold energy began penetrating its body through the wound that was on the pincers.
At this mont, the scorpion was not only supposed to pay attention to Olivia who was attacking relentlessly while at the sa ti, trying to figure out how she was going to materialize the ice prison, but, it had to pay attention to Diana who was launching several arrows towards it continuously.
Kiii!
The Scorpion shrieked once again. But this ti, unlike the previous shrieks, the shriek that was produced from the scorpion made Olivia and the rest to close their eyes. At the sa ti, they felt a little dizzy.
It was obvious that this shriek had actually so kind of ntal attack. Although they were currently putting on armors, that was only capable of protecting them from physical attacks. But from ntal attacks, they had to depend on their own ntal strength.
Due to the ntal attack that had been launched by the scorpion, the ice prison that was just about to condense around the scorpion suddenly broke as there was no longer any energy that was supplied by Olivia.
Olivia was the first one to recover just after about 2 seconds. And when she looked in the direction where the scorpion was in previously, she realized that the scorpion had sohow disappeared.
And, there was a huge hole, although it was filled with rock and sand, she knew that the scorpion had already entered the ground.
Diana and Adam both ca back to their senses a second or so later after Olivia. Just like Olivia, they realized that the scorpion had escaped once again. Although they could not understand why the scorpion had decided to escape rather than attacking them when they were stunned, they did not complain.
Just after she ca back to her senses, Diana suddenly felt that the ground beneath her was trembling. Without hesitation, she retreated. At the sa ti, she launched several arrows towards the ground.
The arrows that she had launched collided with the scorpion that was just climbing out of the ground. It seed that it had realized that Diana was a nuisance. After all, her attacks ca from a distance and they possessed a lot of power. So, that was going to be a threat to the scorpion.
Bang! Bang! Screee!
The Scorpion once again shrieked. It was just that, this ti, the shriek did not contain any form of ntal attack. Instead, Olivia and the rest could feel that there was so kind of frustration within the shriek.
At this ti, as Olivia and Diana both made a move to attack, the dark eyes of the scorpion suddenly begun turning red. And, the mont that they did so, a red aura surrounded the scorpion’s body.
As if the scorpion had lost its mind, completely forgetting about sneak attacks, it charged towards Diana with the intention of attacking her head on.
Diana simply snorted. She pulled the strings of the bow that she was holding, and a collapsing arrow condensed. Then, without hesitation, she released the arrow after she had aid, and pulled the strings of the bow to the maximum that she could.
Everything happened fast. The collapsing arrow charged towards the scorpion and in no ti, the two of them collided with one another. And, this ti, the Scorpion did not use its tail or pincers to block the attack. Instead, it took the attack head on.
