Holly went to find Jasper Hayes, along with Bella Coleman. Although she let Diana Curtis hit the wall, she couldn’t just ignore it.
Finding soone was actually a simple matter.
They arranged to et at a café near Veridian. When Holly arrived, Jasper Hayes wasn’t there. She had tid her arrival perfectly, which ant Jasper was late.
"Damn, really? We ca all the way just to be here on ti, and he’s late."
Bella Coleman said indignantly as she saw Jasper hadn’t arrived.
When you don’t like soone, everything they do seems wrong. Bella Coleman didn’t like Jasper Hayes, so she definitely saw his tardiness as a cri.
"Sorry I’m late. I just finished dealing with sothing and hurried over."
Jasper Hayes was twenty minutes late. As soon as he arrived, he apologized with a gentle deanor.
Jasper Hayes gave off a gentle impression, a kind of warmth that seed to co from deep within.
Perhaps it was this gentleness that kept Diana Curtis attached for so long.
He said he hurried over, but there was no trace of haste on him.
Holly’s voice was cold, "It’s okay."
"What do you need from ?"
Jasper Hayes sat down and asked slowly, his voice calm and unhurried.
"You should know ."
Bella Coleman interrupted, stating confidently.
Yes, Jasper Hayes knew her; he had known her for a long ti because of Diana Curtis.
"It’s about Diana, right?"
eting Bella Coleman’s gaze, Jasper instantly understood.
Because of Diana Curtis, Bella had confronted him, almost resorting to violence, but Diana stopped her.
Because of Jasper, Diana had nearly paid the ultimate price. Jasper had a car accident and needed a lot of blood, and Diana almost drained herself giving it.
Although Diana did it voluntarily, and Jasper couldn’t be blad, seeing his indifferent attitude made Bella furious.
She stord over to reason with Jasper.
"Yes."
Bella Coleman stared directly at Jasper.
"Say whatever you want, I’m listening."
Jasper Hayes ordered an Aricano, still wearing a faint smile on his lips.
"If you don’t like her, you should know how to refuse."
Holly took a sip of her coffee, speaking coldly, her tone particularly chilly.
Jasper said nothing.
"Diana sees you as a treasure, but to , Holly, you’re nothing more than a weed."
Holly held her cup, slightly curling her lips with a cold smile.
Or perhaps, even less than a weed.
"Miss Sawyer, there’s no need to be so harsh."
Jasper was still pondering Holly’s previous words when she said the next.
He furrowed his brows slightly, sowhat displeased.
Holly seed so easygoing; he didn’t expect her words to be so biting.
Jasper had t Holly, though not many tis, and she didn’t leave a deep impression—just that she was Diana’s friend.
"I think I speak quite nicely."
Holly curled her lips, speaking slowly, her tone icy.
She never felt the need to speak nicely to Jasper; not punching him straight away was already a kindness.
"My matters with Diana are not for you to judge."
Jasper’s voice was particularly gentle, like a breeze, his tone pleasant but his words infuriated Holly.
"I heard the company you’re interning at is Grant Group."
Holly looked down, playing with her nails, and spoke slowly.
Given that Jasper could get into Grant, it proved his capability, though Holly wasn’t interested in that.
Whether Jasper would lose this opportunity was another matter entirely.
"Yes."
The ntion of Grant filled Jasper’s eyes with pride.
The opportunity to intern at Grant wasn’t sothing everyone had; he was one of the few, and he always felt proud to ntion it.
"Your future is bright, but have you thought about Diana?"
Holly’s smile was particularly cold.
Yes, Jasper’s future was bright; even if he didn’t stay at Grant after the internship, the experience would make it easy to go to other companies.
But Diana was different. No matter how talented she was, not finishing college was all in vain.
"Her matters are beyond ."
Jasper lowered his eyes, his voice still warm, indifferent.
Bella Coleman: "..."
Beyond him?
Bella wanted to laugh. If Jasper hadn’t led Diana on, would she even have such thoughts?
"Indeed, it’s beyond you."
Holly chuckled softly.
"However, your matters are within my reach."
She paused, speaking again, her gaze at Jasper filled with mocking laughter.
Ha, beyond, is it?
Talk about saying sothing skillfully.
Since Jasper claid Diana’s matters were beyond him, she figured she could ddle in Jasper’s affairs.
Leo Grant still had so influence in Grant Group, and at worst, The Pantheon collaborated with Leo. Making a small intern lose an internship opportunity was easy.
"How will you ddle?"
Jasper laughed, looking at Holly with amusent in his eyes.
Could a young girl like Holly really interfere?
"Do you know Leo Grant?"
Holly spoke slowly.
Jasper nodded. In Bexley, everyone knew Leo Grant. Of course, he also knew Leo was from Arkenfall and had ties with the Grant Group in Arkenfall.
"My friend Holly has a great relationship with Leo. With just one word, your internship opportunity is gone."
Bella Coleman crossed her arms and spoke to Jasper, her tone full of pride.
Holly’s status wasn’t sothing to flaunt, but Leo’s status was perfect to use. When you have connections, why not use them?
"You don’t have to believe it, but we’ll see."
Jasper clearly looked skeptical, prompting Bella to add.
"Why did you co to see ?"
Jasper was silent for a long ti, then spoke slowly.
An easily debunked claim, Holly and Bella shouldn’t have any reason to deceive him, right?
"Don’t hurt Diana, make things clear."
Holly’s voice was cold.
If you like her, then you like her. If you don’t, then you don’t.
"What do you an?"
Jasper clearly looked puzzled, typing a question slowly.
Diana called him, saying she had packed her things and was going with him to Arkenfall tomorrow.
