After math class, it was already noon, ti for lunch.

"Miss Miller, what are you having for lunch?"

Nancy Miller was packing her textbooks when Holly, propping her chin, sweetly asked Nancy.

"I’ll eat at the cafeteria."

Nancy smiled slightly and slowly replied.

Nancy was very pretty, and as a dance student, she had excellent poise, though she was rather aloof and preferred solitude.

When she started college in her freshman year, she was already nad the school beauty. She was quite interested in math, so she sotis attended sophomore math classes.

Holly had found this out and knew Nancy’s favorite spot, so she intentionally chose a seat next to it.

"Can I go with you?"

Holly blinked and looked at Nancy expectantly.

With a naturally sweet and cute appearance, when Nancy t Holly’s gaze, she found it hard to refuse.

"Senior, I’m a freshman."

Nancy bit her lip gently, and it took her a while to say this.

She liked being quiet and was not fond of making friends, yet for so reason, she felt a sense of closeness to Holly.

"A freshman, huh? Well, let treat you to lunch then,"

Holly pretended to ponder for a mont before decisively offering, patting her chest in a senior-like manner.

Diana Curtis: "..."

It was the second sester, and Nancy had been at Veridian for a year, while Holly had been there for less than two days.

Yet Holly still acted like a senior, and though technically she was, she was a senior with little experience.

Veridian’s sumr vacation starts at the end of July, and it was only mid-July now, with nearly two weeks to go before vacation started.

"Then, thank you, senior."

Nancy didn’t stand on ceremony with Holly, gently bit her lip, and agreed.

Perhaps it was due to a blood relationship, she felt quite drawn to Holly and wanted to spend ti with her.

For many years, Holly was truly one of the few people she wanted to be close to.

Holly tilted her head slightly, her face bright with a smile.

Miles Miller, such a garbage person, yet the daughter he raised was still decent. Holly had investigated Nancy before, and the evaluations were all good, although she trusted her eyes more.

So people were not what they seed, and Holly counted herself among that type: seemingly gentle on the outside, but actually decisive and determined.

"Would you like to join us?"

Holly turned to look at Diana.

"No, no, I’ll just order takeout."

Diana waved her phone, saying she had intended to accompany Holly for lunch but changed her mind.

She feared Holly’s deanor might turn her stomach.

She still preferred the slightly aloof Holly over this softer, more endearing version.

She took Holly’s textbooks with her, "Holly, the afternoon is for the specialized course, and we’ll be sketching in the park near the school."

Nancy wasn’t one for much conversation, so on the way to the cafeteria, if Holly didn’t speak, it basically stayed silent.

Holly, a lover of at, got two at dishes and one vegetable dish, whereas Nancy only chose two vegetable dishes.

"You’re quite slim; you could eat more."

Maybe because she was an older sister, Holly offered casually.

Though Nancy wasn’t aware of their connection, Holly knew it in her heart.

She didn’t intend to harm this younger sister, only to get close to Miles and retrieve her mother’s belongings.

Asking outright, Miles would definitely say no.

"We dancers have to maintain our figures."

Nancy shook her head, as dancers must keep their figures, and there’s no room for error.

"Maintaining a figure doesn’t necessarily an going vegetarian, a mix of at and veg can also keep a good figure."

Holly’s lips curled into a small smile; her expression was sweetly animated as she spoke earnestly.

Yes, with the right intake, you could have an abundant al and still maintain your figure.

Dieting doesn’t an starvation nor eating solely vegetarian; those are temporary solutions, and once you deviate, weight can bounce back easily.

"Why not let create a al plan for you? I’ve done so research on this."

Lightly biting her lip, Holly seed a little conflicted as she spoke, her voice holding a trace of hesitation.

Looking into Nancy’s eyes, she felt a certain expectation, making it hard to refuse her.

"Sure, thank you, senior."

Nancy smiled, her expression softening.

She genuinely found Holly adorable, and quite liked this cute senior, feeling a unique affinity with her.

"You’re so pretty, you must have a boyfriend, right?"

Holly asked, seemingly unintentionally, considering that with Nancy’s looks, admirers would be plenty.

"No, I don’t date or marry."

Nancy shook her head, speaking with notable seriousness, her eyes revealing a firm resolve.

Many had confessed to her, yet she declined them all, having no interest in romance or marriage.

Being single was quite pleasant, providing freedom with no ties.

Holly was slightly taken aback, "Why?"

"Without dating, you won’t love soone to the point of heartbreak, and without marriage, there are no constraints."

Nancy articulated her reasoning clearly, speaking with rational clarity.

Romance relies on emotion; in "The Book of Songs," there’s a line: "It’s possible for n to escape infatuations, but not for won."

If a man falls for you, he can leave just like that. But for a woman, once in love, it’s truly hard to get away.

Her mother was a living example.

"Makes sense."

Holly gave a faint smile, making no further comnt.

Nancy’s mother was Miles’s first love; after five years together, for money and status, Miles abandoned her for her mother.

A lodramatic and cliché storyline.

At that ti, The Miller Group was still the Sawyer Group, her mother was a Heiress of the Sawyer Family, and Miles with his impressive capabilities, presented himself as single within the company.

When her grandfather was gravely ill, thinking Miles trustworthy, he married her mother to him. Though reluctant, she eventually agreed.

Yet, her mother was unaware of Nancy’s mother’s existence. Post-marriage and her birth, she discovered Nancy’s mother.

Then Nancy’s mother willingly beca Miles’s secret lover, likely completely besotted.

When she was five, her mother learned of the affair and divorced Miles. The principle was that Miles would leave the Sawyer Family, but through manipulation, her mother was the one who left.

The Sawyer na was then changed.

She sided with her mother out of choice because she disliked her father, who never provided love or care.
