New Year’s Eve dinner passed amid a burst of laughter, and a few people tidied up and planned to go to an open place to set off fireworks.
Even though they didn’t spend New Year’s Eve with family, they all felt quite happy, and for so, being with family really wasn’t necessary.
"New Year’s Eve is still livelier back ho; abroad, it’s quite lonely."
The wind outside was chilly, and Cecilia wrapped her coat tighter around herself as she sighed.
Chinatown is a bit more lively, but the atmosphere just doesn’t match that of back ho. Looking at the brightly lit streets, Cecilia felt nostalgic.
Ho is still better, with friends around, and everyone speaking familiar languages instead of those awkward English words.
Though she could speak English fluently, it ultimately didn’t feel intimate.
In a foreign land, it’s easy for sights to stir emotions.
Returning ho now, everything felt familiar to Cecilia.
"Of course, no place is as good as one’s own ho."
Holly clung to Cecilia’s arm and spoke slowly.
Yes, nowhere else can be as good as one’s hotown.
No matter how bustling a city one may be in, no matter how remote and backward one’s hotown might be, people with deep feelings will always yearn for their hotown.
"Such a strong feeling of the New Year’s spirit."
Cecilia sniffed the air, sensing the festive atmosphere outside.
The streets were lit with decorations, vendors were calling out, and English voices enhancing the atmosphere could be heard everywhere.
Perhaps this is the essence of New Year’s, sothing Cecilia genuinely enjoyed.
All these years abroad were mostly spent alone; although sotis Chinatown had its bustling monts, it never reached the liveliness found back ho.
Noah quickly ca over with the car, and everyone got in.
"Are you cold?"
Leo held Holly’s hand and asked softly.
Holly’s small hand was icy cold, chilling Leo’s heart.
"Not cold."
Holly shook her head; the car had its heat on, so she really wasn’t feeling cold.
"Your hand is very cold."
Leo furrowed his brow and said, thinking her hand was so cold, how could she not feel chilly?
"My hands have always been cold, never ward up in winter."
Holly gently bit her lip and spoke softly.
She recalled ntioning this before.
"I’ll take you to get so treatnts soti."
Leo’s brows remained furrowed tightly as he firmly held Holly’s hand.
He was careless; he had ntioned before about taking Holly for treatnts, but had been slightly busy lately and forgotten, which was really not right.
Leo felt particularly guilty about this.
Cold hands and feet are also a symptom, needing slow treatnt.
"Okay."
Holly obediently nodded.
She initially wanted to refuse, but facing Leo’s gaze, she couldn’t say no.
Alright then, if Leo hoped for it, she would obediently go along.
She had tried treatnts for a while before, but found it troubleso and gave up.
She was always afraid of troubleso matters.
She knew her dical skills weren’t bad; she was certainly aware of her own physical condition.
Seeing Holly being so obedient, the corners of Cecilia’s mouth twitched unconsciously.
She had tried advising Holly so many tis before; Holly just let it go in one ear and out the other, showing no signs of reflection. Now she was behaving so obediently.
Putting love before friendship, indeed!!!
The place to set off fireworks was decided on at Leo’s villa to the west, where the population was sparse, surrounded by villa districts, usually very quiet.
Most importantly, it was away from the city center, where setting off large fireworks is not allowed, but small fireworks were okay.
That’s why they chose this place to set off fireworks.
"Big shots are different; everywhere is villas and houses, really enviable."
Cecilia got out of the car and comnted, feeling a mix of emotions.
So people, born high above, started off much earlier compared to others, with great abilities too.
Like Leo, truly enviable.
But such an outstanding person was won over by her best friend, making it a source of pride.
"Want Holly to send you a set sotis?"
Leo embraced Holly and spoke slowly, his voice full of delight.
He definitely had to treat Holly’s best friend well, or Holly wouldn’t be happy.
Giving Cecilia a house was within his capabilities, Leo didn’t find anything wrong with that.
As long as Holly agreed, that was all that mattered.
"Sure, then thanks to the young master of the Grant Family."
Cecilia’s grin was almost reaching the back of her head, feeling so delighted.
Working hard all one’s life for sothing that she casually got with just a comnt, a matter of moving her lips.
"Damn, Leo, why not send a set to ?"
"Yes, yes, we’ve been buddies for so many years; when will you send a set?"
"You’re stingy with us but so generous with others?"
"I get it, holding onto Holly’s thighs is what matters most, nothing else is important."
"Exactly, there’s no point in being brothers, being Holly’s little follower is most useful."
Noah and Nathaniel each voiced their thoughts, both eyes filled with a hint of sadness.
So sad, all these years of brotherhood were for nothing, yet they couldn’t compare to Holly’s best friend.
Noah expressed he was particularly sad, sad beyond words.
It was truly heartbreaking.
"If you want, I can send one to each of you."
Holly’s lips curled into a gentle smile, speaking softly, her voice tender and sweet.
It’s just a house, right?
She can give them, not a big issue.
"Wow, Holly’s so great."
"Indeed, Holly’s the best."
Noah and Nathaniel exchanged glances, both filled with laughter.
"Let’s go set off fireworks."
Cecilia glared at Noah and Nathaniel and spoke slowly.
Honestly, it was originally only her benefiting, but now it amounted to three people taking advantage.
The three n took out all the fireworks from the trunk and placed them in the open space.
"This New Year is really joyful, with you and Leo."
Holly stood by Cecilia, watching Leo busying about, and spoke slowly.
Yes, this year was really joyful.
eting Leo, spending New Year’s with the man she loved the most. Cecilia returned, able to spend New Year’s with her best friend.
Both were important people to her, and Holly felt her luck was really great this year.
Holly hoped, for all ti that follows, it could be like this.
