"This..."
Frank Pierce just felt his hands trembling as he pointed to Henry, disbelief reflected in his eyes.
It’s hard to imagine.
Henry, who usually is honest, actually got him drunk near The Pantheon for such a deal.
Henry suddenly panicked; he stared blankly at the computer screen.
He had not been at The Pantheon long and always knew Holly Sawyer was impressive, with great computer skills. Holly seed harmless and rarely ca to The Pantheon, so he thought he would take a gamble.
Didn’t expect to be exposed so quickly.
"You think disabling the surveillance and getting people drunk ans no one would know?"
Holly coldly stared at Henry, her voice chilling to the bone.
Totally underestimated her capability.
"You guys handle this, I’m a bit tired."
Holly rubbed her temples and walked out.
A bit tired, didn’t want to deal with such matters.
Too ntally draining.
Of course, there would be severe punishnt. After Holly left, Walter Bennett dealt with it officially, not sparing Henry, gathering all the drugs and handing Henry over to the relevant authorities.
He simply dismantled everything.
When it doesn’t cross the line, they can choose to ignore; when it does cross the line, they will uproot everything.
Turns out Henry wanted to lace The Pantheon’s people’s als with drugs, getting them addicted, so he could reap the benefits.
With so many people at The Pantheon, he thought he could make a fortune and take the opportunity to claim the throne here.
Unfortunately, his plan was discovered before it was put into action.
——
By the ti Holly got ho, it was already afternoon. She went to a dumpling shop downstairs and had a bowl of dumplings.
"What a coincidence."
Stella Jacobs appeared suddenly; she sat across from Holly, looking at her with a smile.
"Hmm."
Holly glanced at Stella Jacobs, nodded, and continued looking at her phone.
Her first impression of Stella wasn’t particularly good or bad, but Holly was never a casual person. She was slow to warm up; making friends also took her a long ti.
"You like the dumplings here too?"
Stella ordered a bowl of dumplings, smiling at Holly.
She quite liked this place’s dumplings, her place wasn’t far from here; she liked coming over to eat.
"The taste is very authentic."
Holly nodded and said.
Stella Jacobs started chatting with Holly, realizing Holly was interested in food topics, so she kept bringing them up.
"Don’t you work?"
After chatting for a while, Stella suddenly asked.
She was quite curious.
Though usually idle, Stella had her own work, which was relatively quiet.
Every ti she saw Holly, Holly seed lazy, always very comfortable.
From what she knew, Holly mostly stayed at ho, enjoying being indoors.
"No."
Holly didn’t mind, responding directly.
She guessed she didn’t have a traditional job; managing The Pantheon was her duty, not exactly a job.
She earned monthly but didn’t need to work hands-on; she just sat and waited for the inco.
"Ah."
Stella was stunned, looking at Holly in disbelief.
Having interacted several tis, she could tell Holly was independent, how could she not have work?
"I don’t have work."
Holly repeated softly.
"Is Leo going to support you?"
Stella pursed her lips, looking intently at Holly.
"He can afford it."
ntioning Leo Grant brought a smile to Holly’s lips.
Indeed, Leo could support her.
"He really can."
Stella nodded, not comnting further.
Regarding matters between Leo and Holly, she wasn’t qualified to judge.
If Leo agreed, who was she to say anything? Of course, she couldn’t.
"But I don’t need him to."
Holly glanced at her phone and then at Stella.
The balance in her bank card was enough for her expenses.
Using her own money felt much more secure.
"Why?"
Stella was even more surprised.
"I have shares."
Holly replied.
Stella nodded, not pressing further.
After eating, Holly packed so to take ho.
Leo would be back soon to eat.
Holly had just arrived ho when Leo returned.
"How co you went out today?"
Seeing the steaming dumplings on the table, Leo was slightly surprised.
He had free ti today, wanted to spend ti with Holly, didn’t expect her to go out.
"Well, had so things to do, I packed this from downstairs, try it, brother."
Holly playfully blinked, smiling at Leo, her eyes filled with a deep smile.
"It’s so cold, did you catch a chill?"
Leo ruffled Holly’s hair, asking softly.
The little girl was afraid of the cold, today’s temperature was noticeably colder than yesterday’s.
"No."
Holly shook her head.
Indeed, she didn’t feel it; she was boiling with rage, leaving no ti to notice the cold. Of course, she didn’t have ti.
She stord out, and the anger hadn’t fully dissipated upon return, still holding onto her fury.
"How did you know I went out?"
Holly blinked, curious.
She returned earlier than Leo, now sitting on the sofa, the house was warm; she didn’t even turn off the heater when she left.
"Details."
Leo gently looked at Holly, slowly spoke two words.
Details.
It was indeed about details.
The dumplings on the table were steaming, evidently freshly packed; no takeaway boxes were seen, the dumpling packaging wasn’t typical takeaway packaging, clearly packed to go.
The TV in the living room wasn’t on, the place was quiet.
Leo deduced the dumplings were purchased outside, Holly had just returned.
"Eat the dumplings, brother, I’m going to take a shower."
Holly yawned, slowly said.
Bringing in the cold air from outside, she wanted a shower, then a nap.
Holly felt she needed hibernation in the winter, finding herself very sleepy.
"Okay."
Leo nodded.
Holly went upstairs, yawning, feeling a bit sleepy.
Indeed, winter wasn’t suited for handling matters, just for sleeping.
Puzzled why she felt especially drowsy co winter, sotis unable to fully awaken.
Doing just fine in sumr, waking early, sleeping little, but truly sleeping a lot in winter.
