The night before Leo Grant’s birthday, Holly Sawyer prepared a birthday cake for him in advance, calling it an early celebration.
It was just her.
"Isn’t it cute?"
The cake wasn’t big, sowhat small. Holly opened the box and winked at Leo.
"It’s cute."
Leo nodded.
There was a cartoon character on the cake, which indeed looked quite adorable.
"I made it myself."
Holly’s smile was particularly bright as she looked at Leo, a look of seeking praise on her face.
Well, she did make it herself, but it had been a long ti since she last did it, so she was a bit rusty.
It wasn’t exactly ugly, but it definitely wasn’t pretty.
"It’s beautiful, it’s the most beautiful cake I’ve ever seen."
Leo gently lifted the corners of his mouth, slowly speaking with a tone full of joy.
It was truly beautiful, the girl’s intentions were naturally the best.
"If you praise like this, I might get conceited."
Holly playfully winked, her eyes filled with laughter.
She knew Leo was just flattering her, whatever she gave, Leo would always think it was the best, without exception.
"I don’t mind you being conceited."
Leo slightly lifted the corners of his mouth, looking at Holly tenderly, his voice soft.
Why be afraid of the girl’s conceit? He certainly wasn’t afraid.
Holly inserted three candles into the cake, then lit them with a lighter.
"Brother, make a wish."
Holly urged, looking at Leo.
Leo closed his eyes and made a wish, a faint smile on his lips.
After making the wish, it was ti to blow out the candles.
"My wish is that you’ll always be by my side in the days to co."
Leo looked intently at Holly, an extrely gentle smile on his lips.
Yes, his wish was actually simple, but sohow not simple; he just hoped for Holly’s long-term companionship.
"I can definitely fulfill that birthday wish for you."
Holly playfully winked and slowly said.
Leo’s birthday wish was so simple, she had to help him achieve it.
"Alright, it’s a deal."
Leo nodded.
He wasn’t envious of couples making out on the streets, only of the elderly supporting each other in quiet alleys; the best love doesn’t need to be passionate, but to hold one hand from the heart to old age.
Leo hoped that the love between him and Holly would be the best kind, not the type that turns cold after the passion fades.
"Our love can definitely last from beginning to end, from heartbeats to old age."
Holly looked at Leo, her eyes full of sincere light.
That’s the kind of love she hoped for.
"Alright."
Leo nodded.
"Brother, happy birthday."
Like performing a magic trick, Holly pulled out a large bouquet from behind her, her face filled with an endless smile.
The edges of the flowers were blue, the pistils were yellow, the two colors intertwined to create a truly beautiful sight.
"Thank you."
Leo was amazed, his eyes full of delight as he looked at the bouquet in front of him.
Boys also feel happy to receive flowers; the first ti was a surprise, the second ti was just pure joy.
"What kind of flower is this?"
Leo asked as he looked at the bouquet before him.
He wasn’t familiar with these things, never having seen flowers like this, very beautiful, just like flowers from a fairy tale.
"Miss Gene Shattered Ice Blue Rose."
Holly playfully winked and said slowly.
The flower’s aning is: Because I love you every day.
She loved Leo, so she wanted to give him a bouquet of such flowers.
The color of the Miss Gene Shattered Ice Blue Rose is blue, and in English, blue equals "Because love you every day," which is the origin of the flower’s aning.
Miss Gene Shattered Ice Blue Rose also has another aning: to give you the hope of stars and the sea.
It signifies that eting you is a particularly fortunate event.
"They look great, I really like them."
Leo’s eyes held a gentle light as he looked at the flowers with much tenderness.
He learned that boys could also receive flowers after eting Holly.
"I think you’ll like the flower’s aning even more."
Holly winked and said slowly, her voice gentle.
More than the appearance of the flowers, she loved the aning behind them, and she was sure Leo would too.
Leo asked, "What does it an?"
"It has two anings, one is ’because I love you every day.’
"The other is ’To give you the hope of stars and the sea,’ signifying that eting you is a particularly fortunate event."
Holly said, a smile tugging at her lips, gentle and doting.
She liked the aning of the flower and the fairy-tale-like beauty, so she chose to give the bouquet to Leo.
"eting you, I feel incredibly lucky too."
Leo smiled, his gaze at the flowers softening.
He loved the aning, he loved the flowers not just because Holly gave them, but because of their beautiful aning, he liked them a lot.
Leo suddenly felt he should learn about flower anings, so that buying flowers in the future wouldn’t be random but aningful.
"Brother, let’s cut the cake."
Holly wanted to quickly move past the topic, as further conversation might beco syrupy sweet, leading to the cake being forgotten.
Yesterday’s cake doesn’t taste as good as the freshly made one.
There’s a loss of flavor over ti.
"Alright."
Leo nodded and handed the first piece of cake to Holly.
"Brother, the first piece of cake is ant for the birthday person to eat."
Holly winked at Leo, smiling as she put the piece back in front of him.
It’s always been like this, though she wasn’t quite sure why, the first piece of cake was usually eaten by the birthday person.
"I see, okay then."
Leo nodded, then cut a larger piece for Holly.
He never cared much about such details, but since Holly did, it was fine by him.
"Is it delicious?"
Holly didn’t touch her fork, waiting expectantly for Leo’s response.
She had hoped for his praise, having made it herself.
"It’s delicious."
Leo nodded, it was indeed very tasty, with a nice flavor.
The girl’s culinary skills were truly impressive.
"For your birthday every year, I’ll make your cake, alright?"
"No matter how we celebrate, I’ll have a separate celebration for you, okay?"
Holly looked at Leo, her eyes filled with hope.
She wanted to always have a special celebration for Leo, aning he could celebrate twice each year, once with friends, the other with her.
The cake she made with her own hands, she wanted to share just between the two of them, not with anyone else.
