Leo doesn’t pay attention to his own biological mother, but instead showers his girlfriend with ticulous care. No matter how you look at it, this is quite peculiar.

"Holly, don’t mind her."

Leo gently ruffled Holly Sawyer’s hair and spoke softly.

"If you have nothing else, you can leave. I rember saying my ho doesn’t welco you."

Leo’s attitude towards Annie Allen has always been cold. He’s even issued an eviction order, with no feelings for Annie whatsoever.

"We share the sa blood."

Annie lightly bit her lip as she looked at her son, who had grown into an adult, a myriad of emotions stirring inside her.

Leo is her biological son. When Leo was very little, she used to cradle him carefully and nurture him with attention.

But now, Leo is not close to her at all, and even harbors feelings of disdain towards her.

"Those people from the Grant Family share the sa blood with too."

Leo slightly curved his lips into a smile and spoke slowly, the smile at the corners of his mouth particularly chilly.

Those people from the Grant Family all share an inseparable blood relation with him and belong to the sa family. They’re still thinking of ways to get rid of him.

So what if we share the sa blood?

Not everyone who shares a blood relation will genuinely care for you or truly be there for you.

Sotis, blood relations an nothing.

"I’m different from them."

Annie shook her head, speaking slowly.

She knows all too well what kind of people the Grant Family are.

Leo said nothing, just silently watched Annie.

Annie indeed is different from them; at least Annie wouldn’t harm him.

"Can we talk?"

Annie took a deep breath and earnestly asked Leo.

She never provided Leo with any parenting love, always ignored him, even... but those were actions she couldn’t help. She wanted to talk to Leo.

"It’s unnecessary."

Leo outright refused.

Holly Sawyer raised her eyes to look at Annie and saw a sincere light in her eyes, a sign that Annie probably had sothing genuine to say.

"Big brother."

Holly called out to Leo gently and softly.

"Hmm?"

Leo turned his head to look at Holly.

"I want to listen."

Holly blinked at Leo and clung to his arm playfully, her tone tender and soft.

Annie probably really had sothing to say.

"Go ahead."

Leo conceded.

Annie gave Holly a grateful look.

Her son had grown up, becoming more handso and now he even has a girlfriend, treating her very well.

Thankfully, he didn’t inherit his father’s bad habits.

"Back then..."

Annie slowly began to speak.

She and Leo’s father were once seen as a glamorous couple, envied by many. People thought they were inseparably close, but only Annie herself knew how lowly she was in that relationship.

Leo’s father didn’t love her, instead just pretended in public, often using cold violence against her. Eventually, she couldn’t take it anymore and left.

At that ti, Leo was still just a little kid. She was reluctant to leave him, but she couldn’t take him with her.

Later, when she wanted to go back to see Leo, his father wouldn’t allow it, cutting off any contact between them, making even a glance at her own child a luxury.

When Leo was ten, she appeared in his sight for the first ti, rembering how the chubby-faced child asked why she left.

She wanted to say she was reluctant too, but under Leo’s father’s gaze, she’d said many heartless things.

She and Leo weren’t actually that much of a problem; it was those heartless words and years of neglect.

She had promised Leo’s father not to see him again, but in the end, she couldn’t resist. The Grant Family was full of crises, and she wanted to stay by Leo’s side now, to accompany him.

After hearing what Annie had to say, Leo’s emotions remained largely unchanged.

Truth or lies really didn’t matter to Leo. He doesn’t have feelings for Annie, and even if it’s true, it wouldn’t create much of an emotional connection.

Feelings are developed from a young age.

"Adults don’t get easily moved."

Leo fed Holly a piece of fruit, speaking softly and gently.

There were no feelings before, and probably won’t be any in the future either.

"At least, she cares about you."

Holly gently held Leo’s hand, slightly curving her lips into a smile.

The existence of feelings isn’t important; what matters is that Leo doesn’t need to be so cold towards Annie.

"I know."

Annie lowered her head, a self-mocking smile tugging at her lips.

She did not beg for Leo’s affection; she just hoped Leo wouldn’t dislike her and that his attitude towards her wouldn’t be so cold.

"Your girlfriend is very pretty."

Annie directed her gaze at Holly and said a heartfelt complint.

Holly is indeed very pretty, like a doll, particularly adorable.

Such a girl with big, expressive eyes, very fair skin, and petite in a cute way.

A very pretty and cute girl, she looks like soone with a kind heart. Leo eting Holly might be a stroke of luck.

"Indeed, very pretty."

Speaking of Holly, a particularly bright smile appeared on Leo’s face.

His girlfriend is the most beautiful, no refutation accepted, as in his heart, Holly is the most beautiful and incomparable.

Holly bit her lip tightly, a bit shy from all the complints.

Mmm, being praised to her face is indeed quite embarrassing.

"Young Master, the milk is ward."

Mrs. Hayes brought out the ward milk and placed it on the table.

Leo: "Thank you, Mrs. Hayes."

"Your mother has her reasons too, I know, but I didn’t know how to tell you."

Mrs. Hayes wiped her hands and spoke calmly.

Leo’s parents’ relationship was sothing she was clear about, but she couldn’t comnt on it, so she pretended not to know.

There were things she was aware of but had never ntioned to Leo because it wasn’t her place to bring them up.

After Leo’s father passed away, Annie hadn’t co to see Leo, and it naturally wasn’t her place to ntion it otherwise it would seem ddleso.

Leo nodded: "Mm."

Once Mrs. Hayes finished speaking, she left, not wanting to interfere with their conversation.

Mrs. Hayes had brought out three cups of warm milk, obviously one was for Annie.

"Auntie, have so milk."

Leo remained still while Holly brought a cup of milk to Annie, speaking sweetly.

Annie smiled: "Thank you."

"Brother, drink so too."

Holly lifted the milk to Leo’s lips, playfully blinking at him.

"Alright."

Leo smiled lightly and took a sip of the warm milk with Holly’s gesture.

When fed by the little girl, it just tastes different, quite delicious.
