Chapter 26: The Monster’s Resolve
The silence in the glowing forest was absolute, broken only by the faint, panicked chirps of Noodle nudging against Adam’s jaw. The carnage, the chilling system ssage, the flood of power—it all crystallized into a single, cold certainty in Adam’s mind.
’I am not human. I am a monster. And I will beco the strongest monster there is. No one will ever threaten
or what is mine again.’
The last vestiges of his old life, the guilt, the nostalgia, were burned away in the crucible of that betrayal. A new, unshakeable will, as hard as dungeon granite, solidified within him. A notification flickered, a quiet acknowledgnt of his internal tamorphosis.

A grim sense of satisfaction washed over him. He was becoming impervious, inside and out.
With his resolve hardened, he turned his attention to his staggering hoard of 17 Skill Points. It was ti to invest in his future. He opened the System Shop, his newly enhanced Human Ingenuity allowing him to analyze the options with terrifying efficiency.
A grim smile touched his features. Even his own will was hardening, adapting to his new reality. It was a sign he was on the right path.
His priorities were clear, overwhelming offensive power and shoring up his weaknesses. He bypassed flashy, niche skills and focused on fundantals.
First, a new tool for his aerial dominance. He found it, Gale Slash.

The remaining points were gone. All 17 spent. A wave of transformative energy crashed through him as the stat increases took hold. His muscles grew denser, his scales tougher, his wings even more powerful.
He flexed his wings, feeling the potential for the Gale Slash humming within them. He was a flying arsenal.
He looked down at Noodle, who had been watching him patiently. The little Voidspalk Kitten had been through everything with him. It was his turn.
"Your turn, little friend," Adam said, his voice a low rumble. "You’re close to evolving again, I can feel it. Let’s go. Let’s find you the last bit of power you need."
Noodle let out an eager "Mrrow!
