When an ergency arises, you activate the ergency protocol. And with the ergency protocol, unnecessary procedures can be skipped.

Russell, who had been a corporate drone in his past life, knew this all too well.

As he expected, once Rozelite collapsed, the receptionist didn’t bother asking further questions. She had people rush her to a doctor, with the Adventurer’s Guild covering the dical costs.

The word “doctor” made Russell instinctively think of hospitals.

But when they arrived, he realized it wasn’t a hospital—it was a church.

Which made sense. In this kind of dieval-fantasy world, there was no real dical system. No matter the injury, a healing spell could fix it instantly, so there had never been a need to develop dicine. And healing magic was almost always tied to the church.

While Russell’s mind wandered, Rozelite was already being carried into the church.

The one treating her was a nun in a crisp black-and-white habit.

Russell felt a pang of disappointnt. Apparently, nuns here didn’t wear those high-slit “habits” that only existed in certain books. Sha. But on second thought… yeah, real nuns would never wear sothing that shaless.

“This is… serious.”

After a quick examination, the nun’s expression twisted into disbelief.

“This child… is she really still alive?”

“What kind of thing is that to say?”

Winnie snapped.

“I an it literally. Her injuries are severe. From my preliminary judgnt… if she sustained them outside the city, she wouldn’t have made it back in ti. Honestly, she shouldn’t have survived at all.”

The nun chose her words carefully—yet still couldn’t hide her shock.

“Anyway, wait here. I’ll fetch dicine.”

The nun stood and left.

On the bed, Rozelite’s eyes were half-shut. She hadn’t lost consciousness—the pain simply left her unable to move.

“Mister Sli, thank you…” she whispered in her heart.

The next mont, Russell’s voice filled her mind.

“What’s there to thank for? I already told you, this is our deal. I’ll help you survive and return ho. You’ll help find a way to beco human.”

“Eh?”

Rozelite blinked.

“Mister Sli… you can hear my thoughts?”

“When [Symbiosis] reached Lv4, I figured out a trick—if I use it alongside [ntal Integration] and focus, I can do this… I only just figured it out, really.”

Currently, Russell was coiled inside her abdon, once again using [Symbiosis Lv4] to stabilize her wounds. Earlier at the guild, he had released it just to force attention on her condition.

If he left it undone for long, she really would die.

That aside… amnesia?

When he’d asked before, Rozelite said she didn’t rember anything after being kidnapped—only a blur, like she’d been unconscious until she awoke inside the labyrinth.

Was she telling the truth? Or had she really lost her mory?

As he pondered, the nun returned carrying a round glass vial.

Inside sloshed a dark red liquid. In gar terms, it looked exactly like a “healing potion.”

“This will help repair your body, at least a little.”

She uncorked the vial and held it to Rozelite’s lips.

“Honestly, I don’t expect much. Your injuries are far beyond what dicine can treat. But then again, you shouldn’t even be alive right now. So, may as well try.”

Rozelite stuck out her tiny tongue and licked the liquid. Her face imdiately scrunched up.

“So bitter…”

“If you can’t handle it, let .”

Russell offered.

“…Mister Sli, don’t underestimate . It’s bitter, sure, but I won’t whine over sothing this small.”

She took a deep breath, shut her eyes, and gulped down the whole bottle.

The mont she finished, she stuck out her tongue again, frowning.

“Still awful.”

Childish taste buds, even with all that resolve.

anwhile, inside her, Russell closely observed how the “healing potion” worked.

Unlike his modern expectation of digestion and absorption, the potion evaporated—no, it was “absorbed”—almost instantly upon reaching her stomach. Within seconds, the vial was gone.

At the sa ti, her body began repairing itself—slowly, painstakingly.

“Huh. It does work… but way too slowly.”

Not the dramatic “instant HP recovery” he’d imagined. After ten minutes, she’d regained only 1 HP.

And her status still showed [Severe Injury].

Clearly, recovery would take ti.

Russell found himself wondering what ingredients it was made from. If he knew the recipe… could he mass-produce it?

The nun spoke again.

“I don’t know how she’s alive at all, but if her wounds don’t worsen, she’ll recover with sustained rest. I recomnd she stay in the church during this ti.”

“Big Sister Nun, how long will it take?”

Rozelite asked with wide eyes.

“About a month. One potion per day should suffice.”

“A whole month?”

Rozelite blinked.

“Then can I not live here, and just co drink a potion each day?”

“Uh… with wounds this severe, you really shouldn’t be moving around…”

“Who says? It’s just a mortal wound.”

“Rozelite” threw off the covers, leapt from the bed, and—right in front of the horrified nun and Winnie—executed a perfect backflip.

“See? I’m fine. Not a problem at all.”

Nun: “…”

For the first ti in her life, the nun doubted her dical skill.

Winnie was already numb.

“This girl… she didn’t co here for healing. She’s here to scam health insurance.”
