Chapter 9: It Really Ca......

However, before Lina could breathe a sigh of relief, an icy, bone-piercing chill instantly shot up her spine! The passive ability of divination shrieked once more!

What?! The crisis still wasn’t over?

“Big Sister Lina, be careful!”

A cry of alarm ca from behind her!

“Whoosh!”

A tiny icicle carrying a trace of cold pierced through the air, and in the blink of an eye flew right in front of Lina!

“Annie, what are you doing?!”

Lina darted sideways in annoyance. Even if Annie’s move hit, it would not really cause any injury, but joking around at a ti like this was far too nasty!

Yet sothing she had never expected happened. At the very instant she easily and perfectly dodged the icicle, triggering her invincibility fras, a destructive black beam thundered through her afterimage and plowed a scorching trench of bottomless depth into the ground!

Imdiately afterward, with a crisp “crack,” the space at Lina’s side shattered as if it were a mirror.

Another Norsen stumbled out from the shattered void, black flas burning wildly over his body, giving off an ominous aura like twisted, writhing tentacles.

And behind him, three bedraggled figures followed close after, charging out of that spatial rift!

They were precisely the three B-rank witch examiners responsible for proctoring the test!

Their robes were tattered, and their magic power was sowhat disordered. Clearly, they had already been locked in fierce battle with this Norsen for a long ti in another space.

“Stop him!”

The brown-haired examiner in front shouted sharply. The light of the staff in her hand flared brilliantly, and a flaming dragon roared as it charged at the newly landed Norsen.

What was going on?! Two of them?

Looking at the chaotic battlefield before her, Lina instantly understood: so the reason the examiners had never appeared was that this duplicate had dragged them into an independent spatial barrier! That strike just now was precisely this Norsen launching a sneak attack on her while breaking the barrier and escaping.

If not for Annie’s inspired “backstab” just then... she probably would have already gone to line up in the Underworld.

This little girl... her reaction was that fast?

Lina gritted her teeth and shouted at Annie, who was still trembling all over from lingering fear not far away, “Don’t just stand there! Run!”

“You pitiful sleepers, do you still not dare to face the true reality even now?!” Norsen suddenly let out a shriek mixed with so kind of chaotic noise. Everyone in the entire plaza felt dizzy and disoriented, and the three examiners nearest to him directly coughed up blood, lost their balance, and fell to the ground!

“Damn it... it’s the language of the Ancient Gods!” Lina endured the violent headache and barely forced her eyes open, staring fixedly at the second Norsen.

That attack just now... really was sowhat weaker than his main body. Could these all be duplicates? He didn’t know this move last ti...

No, not necessarily. Last ti, the mont we t I instantly killed him, so I really don’t know what moves he had!

The classes she skipped in her last life had to be made up for in this life...

But even this duplicate definitely had the level of an A-rank wizard. Under normal circumstances, three B-rank witches really might not be enough to take him down!

Lina quickly swept the three examiners with the corner of her eye and made a rough judgnt from the attributes of the magic power they released:

The one with short brown hair mainly practiced the fire attribute, the one with long light-green hair mainly practiced the wind attribute, and the other witch with the golden single ponytail was the rarer light attribute.

“Hey! The blonde one, yes, you! Hurry and open the Holy Domain!” Lina shouted at the three examiners while enduring the headache.

That blonde examiner, still in a dazed haze, heard Lina’s shout and subconsciously raised her right hand. Golden ripples rapidly spread outward from her as the center, covering most of the plaza.

Everyone enveloped within it instantly felt a wave of relief, and that complicated noise vanished without a trace.

As expected, this was also a kind of curse!

Lina did not lower her guard and continued shouting, “The brown-haired big-breasted one! Stop standing there like an idiot! Pillar of Fla! Burn him!”

The examiner who mainly practiced the fire attribute froze for a mont and was just about to say sothing when she saw that the cultist seed to be gathering magic power again, preparing to cast so kind of spell.!

The brown-haired examiner did not think further. She drew her staff from her waist and pointed it behind Norsen!

“Whoosh!”

Streams of red fla surged together, spiraled, and rapidly ford a blazing pillar of fire about five ters high, forcing Norsen to dodge at once!

“The green-haired one, help too! Aim at the position of the fla pillar and cast Razor Whirlwind!” Seeing that her two companions had both done as they were told, the green-haired examiner also did not think much about it. She raised her hand and summoned a thick, ancient magic book, its pages rustling loudly in the wind.

“Wind spirits, bless —”

“Fwoosh!”

Sothing happened that the three examiners had never expected: two completely unrelated spells actually fused together!

The streams of fla, swept up by the whirlwind, ford a gigantic fire tornado dozens of ters high, pulling in Norsen, who had been trying to evade it!

The wind blades, which had already been enough to cut through steel, beca even deadlier after being coated in flas, shrieking as they continuously sliced at the magic shield Norsen had hastily erected, leaving him no ti to counterattack.

However, just as the three examiners felt victory was already in their grasp, Lina’s voice rang out once again!

“Stop attacking! Spread out your positions!”

This was clearly a good chance to counterattack! All three examiners were sowhat puzzled.

“Why...” The brown-haired examiner had just started to object when a sinister chill suddenly descended from above!

Space was torn open without warning, and a dense rain of black arrows poured down from it, shooting toward the positions of the three examiners!

Even though the three had already dodged in advance thanks to Lina’s warning, the wind-attribute examiner was still struck in the shoulder by one arrow!

Black smoke imdiately began rising from the wound where she had been hit. The green-haired examiner let out a muffled groan, her face instantly turning deathly pale. She bit her lip tightly, her expression full of pain.

The light-attribute examiner instinctively gathered magic power and pressed a healing spell onto her body, but the black mist continuously pouring from the wound showed no sign of subsiding at all.

“Hurry and use a dispelling spell! Ordinary healing magic won’t work! This is a curse!” Lina hurriedly warned. The blonde light-attribute examiner quickly switched spells, and golden streams of light wrapped around the green-haired examiner’s shoulder like ribbons.

The curse began to recede, but it was still affecting her.

Norsen appeared from the rift, and the black magic tentacles behind him launched an unceasing assault on the three examiners. Because the wind-attribute examiner had been wounded, even with Lina giving warnings from the side, the battle gradually began to reverse in an unfavorable direction.

This won’t work... sooner or later they’ll lose!

Lina shouted at the witch apprentices hiding behind the ruins, “Help now! If you don’t want to die here, then throw every bit of magic you have at him!”

However, the little apprentices hiding in the ruins were almost all scared senseless, and not a single one of them was willing to co out and help on their own.

“I-Ice Crystal Spell!”

Lina suddenly turned her head and saw Annie bent forward, both hands gripping a staff tightly as she fired a tiny ice crystal at Norsen. Her knees were pressed together, and her calves trembled nonstop.

“Wind Blade!”

At the sa ti, a clear and lodious voice rang out behind Lina. It was Sibyl.

She lifted her beautifully contoured chin high, and the gem at the tip of the staff in her hand glittered brightly under the sunlight.

As Sibyl released one wind blade after another at Norsen, she loudly called out, “Everyone, don’t be afraid! That guy has already been suppressed by the teachers!”

Norsen, however, did not care about these attacks in the slightest. He casually swatted away Sibyl’s wind blades, while Lina’s fireballs and Annie’s ice crystals were also instantly neutralized by the outer layer of his shield.

Sibyl’s three little lackeys also crawled out from the collapsed rubble they had been using as cover and desperately hurled their own magic at Norsen.

So of the apprentices, seeing this young lady Sibyl step forward, also gathered their courage, left their hiding places, and began attacking Norsen with their own magic.

Gradually, more and more apprentices joined the assault. The large number of basic spells that had seed insignificant before now poured down onto Norsen’s shield like a dazzling galaxy!

Every ti Norsen tried to attack those annoying apprentices, the three examiners would launch a fierce joint assault with perfect coordination, leaving him unable to divide his attention.

Norsen’s resistance grew weaker and weaker. His black shield was now already riddled with holes, and magic was continuously seeping through the cracks in the shield and striking his main body.

However, just as Lina let out a slight sigh of relief, Norsen’s aura suddenly changed!

He withdrew his shield and let all the magic bombard his body, then charged at Lina with a desperate howl, his voice mixed with that bizarre screech of chaotic noise!

His skin rapidly mutated. Pitch-black liquid spread from beneath his skin to his entire body, fusing together with the black flas on the surface of his skin and forming black, semi-intangible tentacles one after another.

These tentacles continuously broke down the incoming attacks and gathered an extrely dangerous magic power!

Holy shit! He’s panicking, and now he’s planning to blow up with ?

Startled, Lina hurriedly turned to dodge.

Yet the scene that appeared before her filled her with despair:

“Number One Norsen,” who had earlier been charred black by lightning, was now also swaying back to his feet. Semi-transparent black tentacles writhed and twisted, and his red eyes locked tightly onto Lina!

Now she was really screwed... she might as well start thinking about how to apologize to the Queen of the Underworld after she died...

At worst, she would just wear a maid outfit and serve as her maid for half a century...

Lina closed her eyes and calmly welcod the death that was destined to co.

Fifty years later, she’d still be a good hero!

“Crack——”

“【Super-Tier Disintegration】!”

“Still trying to fool with this move?! Go die!” Number One Norsen’s furious voice rang throughout the entire plaza.

Why the hell are you yelling?! That wasn’t , damn it?!

Wait... that voice?

Lina suddenly opened her eyes.

A gigantic opening had split open in the sky. Countless transparent barrier crystals, like shards of glass, ca rustling down, and before they touched the ground, they dissolved into motes of light.

Brilliant moonlight gushed forth from within, enveloping both Norsens at the sa ti.
