Chapter 1957: Chapter 1902–1903: The Mastermind Behind the Scenes, Taoist Monarchs Block the Gate (Part 2)

Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva instantly understood that this great battle was inevitable, and he imdiately sent a ssage to another Bodhisattva in the Buddhism School, preparing to set out to et this war.

However, just as he was about to set out, two voices ca from outside the Buddhist station, stopping him in his tracks.

“I, Quanyangzi, have long heard of Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva’s mastery of Buddhist Law, and I have admired it greatly. Today, I have specially co to seek instruction; I request Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva not to withhold his teachings.”

“I, Chong Ying, …”

The mont these two voices rang out, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva’s expression changed drastically, instantly turning grim.

Those who co with goodwill do not arrive, and those who co are not benevolent.

Especially at this critical mont, the sudden arrival of the other party, under the guise of seeking instruction in Buddhist Law, was rely an excuse; their purpose was to block his actions.

Knowing well that the other party harbored such intentions, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva still felt a bit troubled, because the visitors were no ordinary rivals.

Among the newly ascended Dao Lords in this world, there were many; however, there were also significant differences in strength among them. So newly ascended Dao Lords were nearly as powerful as veteran Daoist Monarchs, while others were rely newly ascended Dao Lords.

At this mont, the two visiting Dao Lords were not easy to deal with. Although they might not necessarily rival veteran Daoist Monarchs, they were strong among the newly ascended Dao Lords, and not soone Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva could easily handle.

The one referring to himself as Daoist Chong Ying was skilled in the Alchemy Dao, his proficiency acclaid as that of a Great Grandmaster, with wide connections across the world and formidable strength.

However, even though this individual was formidable, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva felt confident he could handle him, and believed he had at least a sixty percent chance of victory if they were to fight.

It was the one referring to himself as Taoist Quanyangzi who was more troubleso, also known as Lord Chong’en and Lord Sa, skilled in the Way of Thunder thod, wielding a strand of Innate Thunderbolt. In the Taoist School, he was also an Ancestor Master level figure.

Legend has it that the path he opened up in the Way of Thunder thod is preserved in the Shenxiao Sect, and although not regarded as an Ancestral Master in the Shenxiao Sect’s lineage, his thunder thod legacy exists among the sect’s various branches, and he is respected even by the long-living Taoist Monarchs.

The visit of these two Dao Lords today, if it were rely their intention, wouldn’t be much of an issue. However, if it involved so thoughts from the Longevity Taoist Monarch of the Shenxiao Sect, it wouldn’t be so straightforward.

Even though Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva is part of the Buddhist School’s hawkish faction, always hard-edged in external dealings, he doesn’t wish to make too many enemies and is wary of so powerful existences.

Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva had no choice but to be concerned; the two Dao Lords before him, along with the Divine Skill Miaoji True Monarch, plus the Ancestor Celestial Master of Dragon Tiger Mountain, were all Ancestor Master level figures within the Taoist School. The four of them had a close relationship and were vaguely known as the Four Great Celestial Masters.

Additionally, the Chong’en True Monarch, who is allied with the Longevity Taoist Monarch from the Shenxiao Sect, and the fact that these three are all from the Taoist School, forced him to consider if these events were being stirred up and linked behind the scenes by the Taoist School.

Adding the final touch would be the sixth-generation warships of the Shenxiao Sect bought by the Heterodox Alliance, and the recent news that the finished sixth-generation warships from the three immortal sects were also likely sold by the Shenxiao Sect.

All these seemingly unrelated individuals have been invisibly connected by the Shenxiao Sect. Is it possible that the Shenxiao Sect, or even the Taoist School, intends to take on the Buddhism School?

“Imdiately send soone to the Lingshan Buddha Realm, tell all the matters here to the other Bodhisattvas!” Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva instructed an Arhat Venerate by his side.

The current situation was changing too rapidly, everything unfolded unexpectedly, but upon careful reflection, it seed all the matters were intertwined as if forming a gigantic net covering the Buddhism School.

Unnoticed, the Buddhist School seed to have been targeted by many Dao Lords and immortal sects who began joining forces.

It must be known that the Buddhist School’s dominance naturally led to disputes with various immortal sects and Dao Lords, an unavoidable aspect for any powerful force.

However, in the past, the Buddhist School did not worry about these matters, because greatness inherently attracted so challengers, but as long as the challengers weren’t united, there was no need for concern.

Yet the current evolution of circumstances was unexpected; those adversaries began to show signs of uniting, which was not a good developnt for the Buddhist School. Even to a hawk-like figure such as Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, he would not want to see such a situation.

Indeed, the Buddhist School stands as the overlord in this realm. Even now, with three Dao Lords joining forces with so immortal sects, even if over a dozen Dao Lords ca forward, it would still be impossible to truly destroy the Buddhist School.

But so things aren’t about the surface level, but rather the series of impacts and chain reactions beneath.

Why did Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva resort to suppressing with thunderous force when the three immortal sects of Smoke and Mist Sacred Land made their move? It was to prevent various forces from mistaking the Buddhist School’s amicability as weakness and stepping in one after another.

Now, while the actions of these three Dao Lords aren’t significant, if handled poorly, would it lead other Dao Lords to see an opportunity and choose to attack as well, hoping to claim a piece off the Buddhist School?

He must therefore inform the other Bodhisattvas to be prepared, to guard against unexpected developnts.

As for his own incarnation’s ssage calling for assistance to save that fleet, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva finds it hard to attend to that right now.

Because if indeed the Longevity Taoist Monarch from the Shenxiao Sect is behind this, directing the Taoist School’s collective will, what might be faced next is a real crisis for the Buddhist School.

“The two Dao Lords have co from afar, I, a humble monk, am not at all pleased.” Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva’s voice rose, stepping out of the Buddhist camp.

Regardless, now that two Dao Lords have co to block the gate, he must face this personally, or else the prestige of the Buddhist School wouldn’t be maintained.

Surprisingly, as he actually stepped out, those two Dao Lords were not standing in their previous positions, having vanished without a trace.

“Hmm?” Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva furrowed his brows, his expression suddenly changing: “Damn, I’ve fallen into a trap!”

He instantly realized that everything was a delaying tactic, the other party’s intention was to stall his steps, to create confusion and prevent imdiate aid.

These two Dao Lords likely had so cooperation with the Divine Skill Miaoji True Monarch, but there was probably no other Dao Lord’s support behind them. Their purpose here was not to block him, as the strength of two Dao Lords was insufficient, with nurous Dao Lords within the Buddhist School.

All their actions were rely to induce a series of speculations and fears within him.

By the ti he grew wary and started making other preparations, the battle at that location had already begun, his incarnation blocked by the Divine Skill Miaoji True Monarch; the battle signified no opportunity to intervene elsewhere.

Originally, the alliance of the three immortal sects and the Heterodox Alliance held the advantage, without external interference, the Buddhist School was sure to lose.

“Damn you all! This ti, I’ll rember!” Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva’s expression turned grim, deep killing intent flashing in his eyes, yet he felt helpless.

Even knowing he was tricked, it was too late to do anything. Regardless of whether he rushed to aid or pursued those two Dao Lords, it was no longer aningful.

All could be blad on his skills being inferior, falling for the opponent’s sche; even if he were to fight now, it would be a matter of pride, with this loss, he beca a laughingstock.

Now, he only hoped his incarnation was wise enough to disengage upon realizing he hadn’t arrived, and not fight stubbornly, to lead Contemplating Arhat and others to retreat, minimizing losses.

Ultimately, talent preservation mattered most. Though those warships were priceless and significant assets for any force, compared to a powerhouse like Contemplating Arhat, those warships seed worthless.

Given the Buddhist School’s foundational strength, even if all the warships were destroyed this ti, as long as they gritted their teeth and paid a certain price, they could be rebuilt. But if Contemplating Arhat and others were utterly wiped out, even if the warships were reconstructed, where would the talents co to operate them?
