Chapter 1808: Chapters 1754–1755: Taoist Monarch Authority – What is a Taoist Monarch

Heavenly Court, Five Old Lords Mansion.

As one of the Five Old Lords of the Heavenly Court, even though the Qingling Primordial Lord might not hold much authority, it is only in comparison to those deities of the sa level.

Even as a noble Divine Position, the authority he holds is still beyond the reach of so deities and cultivators, an existence to be looked up to.

Moreover, in the Cultivation World, strength is the true essence, might equals right. Having sufficient power allows you to gain respect and enjoy other things unattainable by others, even without so corresponding duties.

Even if this Qingling Primordial Lord does not possess much authority within the Heavenly Court, as a True Immortal of the Sixth Heaven, he remains one of the few formidable forces under the sky.

Other deities in the Heavenly Court may ignore him, but those True Immortals from the Taoist School, as long as they are not from a top immortal sect, dare not overlook these Five Old Lords. Even so from the top immortal sects would at least retain a minimum degree of respect for them.

Being able to occupy this position, recognized by several Taoist Monarchs from the Taoist School, believing they could oversee the Heavenly Court’s changing structure in the Future and succeed the Six Imperials to preside over the Heavenly Court’s affairs, shows the extraordinary ans of these Five Old Lords.

Rather bluntly speaking, even if they are to be puppets just like the Jade Emperor under the combined recognition of various Taoist Monarchs in the Future, being a puppet isn’t sothing just anyone can do. It requires sufficient ability and strength to handle so minor issues.

The path for the Five Old Lords is quite clear. They themselves cultivate the Path of the Five Elents, and now hold the Divine Position of the Five Old Lords. To verify their position as Taoist Monarchs, there are only two routes before them.

First, that is to directly overthrow the existence of the Six Imperials and then transform the entire Heavenly Court. As the Heavenly Court Master, with the blessing of Qi Luck and authority in their hands, they are fully able to verify their position as Taoist Monarchs, and even beco powerful existences among them.

Second, that is to continue gathering the relevant authority in their hands, and through the power of these rights, accomplish becoming Taoist Monarchs.

However, this first path is too difficult. Not to ntion the invulnerability of the Southern Emperor of Longevity, even if the Emperor of Longevity tacitly allows it, the remaining several Imperials aren’t sothing they can contend with, even with the support of the Taoist Monarchs behind them.

If there was ever doubt over the past ten thousand years about whether all six Imperials have beco Taoist Monarchs, it is now common knowledge that apart from the Imperial Honors Houtu, who early on beca a Taoist Monarch, the Jade Emperor and Great Emperor Ziwei have also displayed formidable Taoist Monarch combat power.

Could anyone still think that the Emperor Green Jade of the East Pole and the Western Emperor Gouchen, these two Imperials, haven’t beco Taoist Monarchs?

Among the Six Imperials, except for the Southern Emperor of Longevity, the other five Imperials all have similar strength realms, which is also why the Imperial Honors competition in the entire Heavenly Court is controlled within a certain limit and doesn’t escalate into chaos.

With similar aptitude and understanding, and almost identical resources obtained, it would be strange for the Emperor Qinghua and Emperor Gouchen not to beco Taoist Monarchs since the Jade Emperor and Great Emperor Ziwei could.

So, if the Five Old Lords truly want to achieve their objective of verifying their position as Taoist Monarchs, this first road is basically impossible to succeed in. Opposing the five Imperial class Taoist Monarchs apart from the Southern Emperor of Longevity, is sothing not even the Taoist Monarchs behind them can accomplish.

Thus, for these five, the only choice they can make is the second one: seize more relative authority and thereby use it to verify their position as Taoist Monarchs while plotting other matters.

The Five Old Lords are reputed as the Five Elents Origin, Ancestor of Five Qi. Although the Dao they cultivate may not necessarily focus on the Five Elents and Five Qi, it inevitably revolves around this part.

For these Five Old Lords, the Path of the Five Elents and the Path of the Five Qi are either to be chosen from, or both cultivated. This is the foundation of their Divine Position, otherwise, this Divine Position offers no help to them, and is instead a burden.

However, for the Five Old Lords, even opting for the second choice is not that simple.

Certainly, the second choice doesn’t directly lead them to confront several Taoist Monarch powerhouses, but it doesn’t an that the authority of the Five Elents and Five Qi is easy to acquire, nor are their opponents simple.

Leaving aside the authority of the Five Qi, as the Five Old Lords are the Ancestor of Five Qi themselves, a significant portion of the authority of the Five Qi is already in their hands. The authority of the Five Qi not in their possession is sothing they don’t even dare to touch.

What do cultivators practice? They cultivate Essence, Qi, Spirit. And this Qi is not only the Heaven and Earth Essence Qi, but also their own Qi. Qi is one of the three treasures of the human body, the foundation for Cultivators.

The Taoist School emphasizes the three treasures of Essence, Qi, and Spirit, and the Qi is divided into Yin-Yang and Five Elents. Thus, the Five Old Lords are hailed as the Ancestor of Five Qi, earning them a revered status in the Taoist School because the Yin-Yang evolves into the Five Elents, making them the origin of Taoist Qi.

It can be said that rely with this point, if they can genuinely master the authority of Taoist Qi, and greatly promote the Refining Qi Skill, then just by this alone, they can verify their position as Taoist Monarchs.

However, such a possibility is really just wishful thinking, sothing not to be taken seriously, as truly attempting to do so would easily risk losing one’s life.

In the Taoist School’s philosophy, Qi is the foundation of Myriad Laws, the source of cultivation. Every Taoist Monarch powerhouse in the Taoist School, especially those who have pioneered their Great Tao, despite having no similar titles to those of the Five Old Lords, are similarly Ancestor of the Qi Dao, holding the authority of Qi.
