Mazendas hands swayed back and forth.

Eltrinde had no idea what she was about to do, but her intuition told her it was sothing bad.

Mazenda was currently well within range of Eltrindes sword.

But that didnt put her at any ease whatsoever.

Instead, Eltrinde began going through her option in her head.

She had two ans of attack. Either her beloved sword, or her Lattice Wand.

Eltrinde chose her beloved sword without hesitation.

While it was true that her sword wouldnt ensure a killing blow any more than her Lattice Wand would, she didnt like the feeling of knowing that she wasnt able to finish the job with the one strike she laid with her sword earlier.

O, Light!

Light magic began concentrating into Eltrindes sword and activated as a Magic Sword of the light elent.

Confident that shed be able to cut through Mazenda even if she happened to use Attack Guard, she began to swing her sword to end this once and for all only to stop herself right before she swung.

A crack could be heard.

In the middle of the air right between Eltrinde and Mazenda, a crack began forming.

The silver hand creeping out of the gap ford instilled fear into Eltrinde.

Wha?!

Yo, Im back. Hows it been going?

Following the silver hand coming out from the warped space was a figure clad in armor of the sa silver.

It then struck with its sword with amazing speed however Shironos had picked up Eltrinde and pulled her back the mont before the blade could reach her.

An uncomfortable sound let out as the blade hit the stone floor as the silver armored figure fully appeared in front of Mazenda.

Phew So tactician you are, nothing went right at all!

Quiet. My plan was perfect. If it werent for this pain in the arse that showed up, everything would have proceeded as planned.

Mazenda was speaking casually with the silver armored man.

It was clear to anyone in the room that the Alva-like way the silver armored man appeared ant that he wasnt in any way a human, causing the Imperial Guard to grow unsettled and panic.

L-Lady Mazenda Who is that?!

Oh, him? An old friend of mine, you could say. Dont mind him.

Nice ta et you!

The silver armored man casually waved his hand in greeting.

It was then that Eltrinde spoke in a quiet voice filled with anger.

What do you think youre doing, Mazenda? Do you really think youll be able to talk yourself out of this anymore now that youve brought that guy out?

Talk myself out?

The questioned Mazenda had a blank look on her face for a few monts and then burst out into laughter.

Oh, right. You see, the Chamber of Prayer Lady Narika is currently occupying can completely cut off any sound from the outside once its doors are closed, making it the perfect place for prayer.

As Mazenda spoke, she rummaged her hand through her robes as if looking for sothing.

Essentially aning that it would be extrely difficult for anything that happens here to reach her ears

Mazenda pulled out a white mask-looking object out from her robes.

Well, to put it simply Lady Eltrinde. I will be having everyone in this room, including yourself, die here. It wont be the most elegant way of handling this, but itll do in correcting my plans.

How dare you!

Lady Mazenda?!

As Eltrindes enraged shout and the Imperial Guards cries of fear rang out, Mazenda put on the white mask and the very next mont, magical energy began to twist and warp around her.

Her blood that had pooled around her and splattered here and there from the battle earlier all began to get sucked towards Mazendas direction.

After it had all gathered at her feet, it dyed whatever white remaining on her robe red.

Wha?!

T-Thats!

While everyone was at a loss for words, what appeared to be black clouds began forming around Mazendas arms.

The black clouds engulfed her head as well, and then a red hood appeared that went over her white mask.

Red eyes shined from deep within that white mask.

It was hard to say whether there was even a proper face behind that mask anymore.

Now, then. Allow to introduce myself again. I call myself the Staff Demon while in this form.

And Im the Sword Demon. Anyway, hope to get along with you guys!

The Staff Demon made an elegant bow as the Sword Demon once again casually waved his hand.

Huh? Wha? Y-You! What have you done with the real Mazenda?!

The Staff Demon let out a snicker in hearing one of the Imperial Guards outcry.

No no no, I am the real Mazenda. I didnt switch places or anything, this is who I was from the very beginning.

Can we move on from this already, Staff Demon? Its not like any of this stuff matters.

The Staff Demon shrugged her shoulders at the Sword Demons impatient voice.

Very well, Sword Demon. Kill everyone however, leave Lady Eltrinde and the Imperial Guard with heavy wounds. As for the three left over

The Staff Demon turned her eyes to Shironos, Kain, and Ein.

Kill them just in case. Itd be best to thoroughly remove any possible chance of another miracle occurring.

Got it, leave it to . I wont let a single one of them get away.

At the sa ti he said that, the Sword Demons figure vanished.

At the very next mont, he appeared in front of an Imperial Guard and cut him down, filling the room with cries and screams of horror.

Wha?! Mazenda! Are you planning on getting rid of all the evidence here?!

I dont plan on explaining every little detail to you, Lady Eltrinde. Seeing as you arent heading for the Sword Demon, could it be that youd prefer if Id be the one to kill you? Im afraid Im not the best at performing clean deaths, so I hope youll understand.

Hmph, well arent you confident?

Eltrinde glanced at the battle occurring behind her.

While the Imperial Guard was managing to engage against the Sword Demon, they were having difficulty operating as normal due to the unsettlent they felt from the situation.

On the other hand, the Sword Demon was acting as if he was just playing around.

Kuh Ein, we have to stop that Sword Demon guy!

Right. I suppose we can leave that masked freak alone for now.

Ein and Shironos nodded at each other, and then Ein pushed at Kains shoulder.

Possibly taking that as the signal to engage in combat, Kain shouted towards the Sword Demon.

Stop, Ill be your opponent!

Huh?! Who the hell are you?!

The Sword Demon turned around and charged at Kain.

Attack Light!

You call that an attack?! O, Water!

Kains Attack Light was cut apart by the Sword Demons water elent Magic Sword, proceeding into a sword fight between the two of them.
