The Shadow of a Luna Chapter 52

TYLER POV

Cade floored it the whole way to the closest pack territory and I needed permission from the Alpha to enter his land. But once I told him who I was and the situation that we had here, he let us straight in.

I took Tessa to the hospital and the doctor was already waiting for us. I carried her in and placed her on a bed in a waiting examination room and as many tis as they tried to get to leave, I wouldn’t leave the room.

The checked all her vitals, drew blood, and did a lot more examinations on her. And a lot of it was hard to watch. They hooked her up to all kinds of machines and none of the doctors or nurses were making any sense to .

They checked for the baby as well. To make sure that the baby was alright. And they finally forced out of the room so that they could work.

I seed to be sitting outside that room for hours with Cade and I couldn’t sit still. I was receiving mind links from the other warriors while they were handling the clean up. It needed to be done before the humans hot up that morning. They weren’t allowed to know that anything happened in their town. And we knew that the werewolf council would be breathing down my neck because of it.

I didn’t really care about any of that right now and Cade offered to take over and went outside of the hospital to contact the warriors. To tell them to leave alone. Becuase Tessa’s condition wasn’t looking good.

As I was pacing the hallway the doctor finally ca out to see .

"What the fuck is going on?" I snapped at him.

"She is in really bad shape. As you know, a werewolf baby takes a lot of energy from the mother so when she involved herself in that fight tonight, it was more than her body could handle. We have hooked her up to an IV bag because she still has silver in her system and we’re also giving her a blood transfusion. We’re moving her to a room now." The doctor says.

"What about the baby?" I asked.

"The baby’s heartbeat was weak at first but since we started the blood transfusion it has picked up. I believe that the baby will be fine." He says.

"When will Tessa wake up?" I asked.

"That’s up to her. I can’t give you an answer on that one." He says.

They moved Tessa to a room and I went with her and I stayed with her the whole ti. I wasn’t leaving her with any strangers anymore. I sat on the chair next to her bed and held her hand.

"Co on Tessa. You know that I can’t do this alone. I need you. Co back to . I need you to co back to . You and our baby." I whisper near her ear. But the only noise coming from the room was the sound of her heart machine beeping.

Soone knocked on the door and Cade popped his head in so I invited him in.

"How is she?" He asked.

"I don’t know. We just have to wait and see if she wakes up." I say.

"She will. If anyone can get through this then it’s Tessa." Cade says.

"I hope so." I say.

"If she could survive living alone with Daniel for 10 years, then she can survive living with Katherine for two weeks. No question..." Cade says very confidently. " I’ve called everyone back at the pack and they are on their way. I’ve been in touch with the warriors and they are almost done with the clean up." Cade explained.

"What about that vampire that claid his friends were locked in the basent?" I asked.

"Yeah, Sawyer. He was telling the truth. And he says that he was taking care of Tessa while she was locked up in the mansion. That he was good to her. But that’s just what he is saying. We’ll see if Tessa can confirm that. We let them go anyway, that’s what you told us to do." Cade says.

"Yeah. He was telling the truth. I just hope that we didn’t make a mistake by letting him go." I say.

"Well, we may have let him go but we also might have planted a tracking device on him. Actually, in his phone. So, we’ll be able to find him if we need to." Cade says and I smirk at him.

"I didn’t authorize that. But I’m glad you did it. I wasn’t even in the right mind to think of doing that." I say.

"I know. Don’t worry man. I have your back." Cade says.

"I know you do. Thank you. I don’t want a lot of people around here." I say wiping my hand over my face.

"I know you don’t. But just realize how much pain everyone else has been in while she’s been missing. They all need to see her too. Angelo and them will be here tomorrow night. Bella and Aria will be here in a couple of hours." Cade explained.

He looked down at Tessa one last ti before he turned and left the room to go handle more pack business. Everyone knew that I couldn’t think straight. I put my hand on Tessa’s stomach and started rubbing it.

I could feel the sparks between mates but then sothing else joined it. I felt it kick . The baby actually kicked . It knew that I was here. It was responding to my touch. I don’t know how I knew that, I just knew that it was.

TESSA POV

Opening my eyes, all I saw was white. There was white everywhere. I didn’t recognize where I was. There was nothing around . I was lying on a white ground and I stood up wearing a long white flowing dress and when I looked down I noticed that I didn’t have a baby bump anymore. And I imdiately started to panic.

"Relax Tessa. Your child is fine." A won’s voice said to .

"Who’s there?" I asked. And then a won materialized out of nowhere right in front of . " Who are you?" I asked.

"I’m Seline." She says.

"The Moon Goddess." I whispered and she chuckled.

"That’s right." She says.

"Am I dead?" I asked.

"No. You’re not dead. And neither is your baby. You are both fine. You just need ti to let your body recharge. You will wake up when you are ready to." She says.

"I’m ready to wake up now. Tyler must be scared to death." I say.

"You can’t rush these things. Tyler will understand if you need a couple of days...I knew that I created sothing special when you were born." She says.

"But I’m half vampire. They don’t believe in you." I responded.

"It doesn’t an that I don’t exist." She says.

"I guess not. Why am I here?" I asked.

"Because we needed to talk. I thought it was ti we t." She says.

"You don’t et every werewolf that you’ve created." I say.

"That’s right. Only the special ones. And you are about as special as they co." She says.

"I don’t think so." I say.

"You were willing to risk your own life to save you’re mate. And you’re pregnant. Not every she-wolf would do that. Not against a witch and a very old and strong vampire." She says.

"I did what I had to. I would like to think that most she wolves would do that for their mates." I say.

"Exactly. Which is what makes you so special. Because you think like that. You think that everyone is basically good. Until you are faced with evil and you see how horrible ther world really is." She says.

"I was raised by Daniel. I already know how horrible the world is." I say.

"Yes. I know that. But things changed when you t Tyler. You have endured trial after trial. And you have still managed to co out on top. You don’t let anything stop you." She says.

"I’m not weak. That’s one thing I was always certain of." I say.

"That’s right. You’re not weak. And you are my my proudest achievent. That’s why I wanted to et you. Because you think that you’re nothing special. But to be honest, you are more special than anyone else realizes. Except for . I knew that there would be a ti when we t. I didn’t think it would be this soon. I didn’t think you would do sothing this magnificent until a lot later on. But you’ve thrived. You’ve accomplished. I am so proud of you." She tells .

"That’s why you bought here? To tell that you were proud of ?" I asked.

"Of course. You needed it. Because of everyone telling you how worthless you are you’re entire life. I needed to make sure that you didn’t believe them. And to make sure that you never believed anyone in the future. You are not worthless. You are the most precious thing on earth. Tyler knows how special you are. And you will carry that legacy with you for the rest of ti. It will be passed on to your children." She explained.

"They will be special too?" I asked.

"Absolutely. And you will be a fantastic mother. So stop doubting yourself on that." She says.

"How do you know that I’ve been doubting myself?" I asked.

"Because I’m the moon goddess. I believe in you, so you should believe in you." She says.

"Thank you." I say.

"Tessa. Can you hear ? Please wake up? You have to wake up. You can’t leave ." I hear Tyler’s pained voice say.

"I think it is ti that you wake up." Seline says.

"I miss him." I say.

"We will et again one day child. You can count on it." She says. And she leaned forward and touched the side of my face.

I then woke up to a really dull room and I imdiately felt sparks rushing through my hand where Tyler was holding it.

I moved my head to look at him and he had his head down. So I moved my fingers and he jolted his head up and then looked at . He saw looking back at him and he got to his feet imdiately and cupped my face.

"Are you really awake? Are you really here?" He asked. And I nodded my head.

Suddenly his lips were crashing down on mine. It was so passionate, so intense, so indescribable that I could feel his emotions and how scared he was that he was going to lose . His family.

"The baby." I say when he finally pulls back.

"It’s gonna be just fine." He smiled down looking at while resting his arm on my pillow.

"I’m sorry baby. I should have co ho when you asked to." He says.

"Don’t do that. Don’t bla yourself for this shit. You were doing what you needed to do. I don’t bla you." I say.

"I bla myself. And I will spend the rest of my life making up for it." He says with a single tear leaving his eye.

I wiped his tear away and I pulled him closer to hug him. I didn’t realize just how much he was beating himself up that he didn’t co ho when I asked him to. He hated himself for it. For him to actually cry. He was more cut up about this then I could have ever realized. Not matter how strongly I felt his feelings. They seed to be more than what I actually could have imagined.
