The slums whispered of a killer no blade could touch. Nobles vanished in their guarded manors, generals collapsed in their camps, priests died at their altars — all with throats cut, no trace of entry. They spoke of a shadow that moved without sound, a ghost in the dark.

Her na was Nyssara Voidfang.

A drow — one of the dark elves cast from their subterranean kingdoms, cursed to walk the surface world. Among her people, exile was worse than death. And so Nyssara lived as death itself.

The Guide System whispered as Sonar tracked her trail of killings to the ruined bell tower on the edge of Varcrest:

[Potential Executioner Detected: Nyssara Voidfang – Title: “The Silent Shadow.”]

[Evaluation: Loyalty Achieved Through Dominance.]

Sonar stepped into the moonlit ruins, the cold stone echoing beneath his boots. Veyra walked behind him, her hand on her blade.

“She’s watching,” Veyra murmured, scanning the shadows. “I can feel her.”

“Good,” Sonar said. “Let her watch.”

A whisper of movent — and a dagger sliced through the air toward his throat. Sonar didn’t flinch. Black fire flared, devouring the blade mid-flight, reducing it to molten ash.

A soft chuckle echoed from the rafters. “Impressive.”

From the shadows, Nyssara dropped down, her form slender and lethal, cloaked in black silks that clung like a second skin. Her skin was obsidian, her white hair gleaming like moonlight, her crimson eyes sharp as razors.

“You’re the one they whisper about,” she said, her voice like silk over steel. “The boy who made the Black Fangs kneel. Who freed the Stonefist. Who stole a chained angel from the priests.”

Sonar’s eyes locked with hers. “And you already know why I’m here.”

Her smile was sly. “To ta ? Many have tried. None succeeded.”

With a flick of her wrist, daggers filled the air, each thrown faster than most n could blink. Sonar’s flas twisted around him, swallowing the steel. In the sa heartbeat, he vanished — reappearing behind her, black fire at her throat.

But her body shimred, dissolving into smoke. The real Nyssara appeared in the rafters again, perched like a spider, smiling.

“A shadow cannot be caught,” she whispered.

Sonar’s voice was calm, unyielding. “A shadow cannot be caught… but it can be eclipsed.”

He raised both hands, and the chamber went dark. Not the darkness of night, but absolute void. Nyssara’s eyes widened — her darkvision, perfect in the underworld, was blinded. The silence crushed around her as Sonar’s power devoured every trace of sound.

She moved silently, vanishing into the dark, but Sonar’s voice echoed everywhere at once:

“You live in the silence between breaths. I am that silence.”

A hand closed around her throat. Flas licked against her skin. And for the first ti in years, Nyssara felt sothing she had not known since her exile.

Fear.

Sonar’s eyes glowed in the void. “Kneel, Nyssara Voidfang. Not because I am stronger — but because I am inevitable. You are a shadow. I am the abyss that swallows it.”

For a heartbeat, she considered striking, fighting until her last breath. But then her smile returned, sharp and hungry. Slowly, she dropped to one knee in the darkness, bowing her head.

“I am Nyssara Voidfang,” she whispered. “The blade no lock can stop, the shadow no light can reveal. From this night, I am your dagger, Sovereign. Point … and I will bleed your enemies.”

The void lifted, and the ruined tower glowed faintly in the moonlight once more.

The Guide System chid.

[Recruitnt Complete: Nyssara Voidfang – The Silent Shadow.]

[Fourth Executioner Acquired.]

Sonar released her throat, a cold smile touching his lips.

Four shadows stood now behind him: the fang, the fist, the fallen star, and the silent shadow.

The world had not yet seen them.

But soon, the world would tremble.
