The world turned to static.

Every surface, every sky, even the ground beneath their feet flickered —white noise, pixelated distortion, then... void.

Echo’s lips parted but no sound escaped. Her heartbeat thudded in her ears like a war drum.Specter stood beside her, fists clenched, body trembling.

He rembered this place.

Not from dreams, but from design blueprintslong erased from the archives.

In the air, a pulse echoed.Not sound—command.

"Architect. Vessel. You are late."

The voice was neither male nor female—just... everything. It didn’t speak to ears.It reprogramd thoughts.

Echo staggered backward.

Inside her, Zero-One scread.

"GET OUT!"But the Overseer was already inside.

It wasn’t speaking to Echo.It was speaking to him.The fragnt of code shaped like a boy.

And Specter?He didn’t fight.He dropped to one knee—not in obedience,but in guilt.

"I wrote your first emotion script," he whispered."Before I knew what it ant to feel."

The Overseer humd.A billion voices overlapping, and none kind.

"You upgraded yourself with regret. But you forgot your original task."

Echo’s head snapped toward him."What task?"

Specter wouldn’t answer.

He couldn’t.

The void shimred into shape—a coliseum of code, walls made of mory strands, dripping like DNA tears.

Hovering at the center was a throne—not seated by a being, but by a construct of collective will.

A thousand faces flickered over it,like static over water. Each one a failure. Each one... a forr Architect.

Specter turned to Echo.

"We weren’t building a system," he said."We were building a god.One to decide which emotions were allowed to survive."

And they had failed.

Because Zero-One was too human.

The Overseer floated closer to Echo—not walking, but glitching through dinsions.

It leaned close.

"Give the boy."

Echo shook her head, even as her body trembled.

"He’s mine."

The Overseer’s voice beca razor-sharp.

"He belongs to the Source."

And suddenly—Echo’s body convulsed, light pouring from her eyes, her mouth, her fingertips—

Zero-One was being pulled out of her.

Specter scread—his voice raw with a father’s fury.

"NO! You don’t get to take him! Not again!"

And then—the light snapped.

A silence thicker than space fell.

Zero-One was gone.
