«I-If you don’t intend to leave here with my Soulmate, then I’ll make you do it by force! Get ready, Raelor — I have no intention of holding back just because it’s you! I’ll use every last bit of my strength!» Eliss bursts out with a rage she has never felt before. Her imposing demonic wings spread wide to their fullest span as the purple light radiating from her body intensifies, growing brighter and more blinding. She bends her knees... SWISH!
Eliss swoops toward Raelor at a speed almost imperceptible to the eyes of a normal human being, like a cot trailing a long purple streak behind her. And...
BAM!
Her clenched fist slams into Raelor’s jaw with incredible force. That punch alone could shatter a thick reinforced concrete wall. But...
«Not bad, Princess Eliss. Really not bad,» Raelor says with a satisfied smile. Her fist is still pressed firmly against his face, and yet he hasn’t moved even a milliter. He didn’t bother to defend himself, and still he shows no trace of pain — nor even the slightest mark on his skin.
«Shut that mouth, you damn bastard!» Eliss shouts. She instantly retracts her right fist and a mont later hits him again with the left — right in the face, with the sa grit and strength as before. But once again, the impact is practically nonexistent. Raelor remains completely unmoving and unscathed, while Eliss looks like a child punching a marble statue, hoping to crack it with her bare hands.
Eliss throws another punch. Then another. Right and left, alternating faster and faster, crashing down with growing force, driven by pure anger and despair. But Raelor is far stronger than she is, and Eliss is practically powerless — unable to break down the insurmountable wall standing in front of her.
You’re right, Princess Eliss. You’re damn right... Raelor thinks to himself, masking the sorrow behind his impassive grin as he watches the girl he considers his little sister falling apart inside. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain you’re feeling right now... the helpless frustration of being so close to the person you love more than anyone else in this world, yet unable to reach him. I’ve never seen you so determined, so desperate to get what you want at any cost — and the strength you’re drawing out right now is living proof of that. Go on... vent your anger, princess. Bring out all the pain you’re holding inside and pour it on !
«It’s not fair! It’s not fair! It’s not fair!» Eliss yells between punches, unleashing a desperate, uncontrollable cry. And with every blow she throws, not only does her anger grow — the purple light radiating from her body also intensifies, shining brighter and brighter. «It’s not fair that you and my father trample on my feelings like this! I-It’s been years since that old bastard has tried to push into giving in to the advances of the countless suitors who have kept showing up at the castle. And now, instead of being happy that I’ve finally found the man of my life, he tries to hinder ! Why?! Tell , why, Raelor?! Why does nobody care about my feelings?! I... I JUST WANT TO BE HAPPY!»
For a mont, just as she’s about to deliver a punch faster and stronger than all the previous ones, the light pouring out of her becos so intense — so charged with energy — that the ground beneath her feet cracks and...
WHOOM!
Raelor intercepts that particularly violent punch, stopping it with the palm of his hand. A violent shockwave bursts from the collision, splitting open the asphalt and scarring the nearby buildings. A concentrated earthquake — contained in that tiny space and lasting barely a fraction of a second — with its epicenter being Eliss’s fist pressed against Raelor’s palm.
The shockwave sends Eliss flying backward, making her bounce hard across the asphalt until she crashes nearly twenty ters away. Her face is now drenched in blood. The violent blow and the brutal crash have opened a gash on her forehead and another on her lip, while more blood drips from her nose, painting her face red. A savage impact on her right shoulder and leg leaves deep bruises and internal fractures. Sharp stabs of excruciating pain shoot through her body every ti she tries to stand again — all under Raelor’s sorrowful gaze.
I have never been so proud of you as I am now, Princess Eliss. In all these years, you have always been so uninterested, so unmotivated. I have never seen you truly fight for sothing or soone, and honestly, I feared that day would never co. And yet...
«I... I will not allow anyone to separate from Aoshi... not even you!» Eliss hisses, her voice broken by tears and pain. She flaps her wings just enough to keep herself in the air despite the unbearable agony shooting through her shoulder and leg. A couple of ters above the ground, she extends her left arm toward Raelor, her index finger pointed at him, its nail beginning to glow with that sa purple light that now flickers ever more faintly around her.
You are a truly strong woman — determined, the most determined I have ever known. Even before challenging , you fully understood how abysmal the difference in power between us is, yet that never stopped you from putting your whole heart into fighting for the man you love. That truly honors you, Eliss. At last, this is what I and your father wanted to see: the pride and dignity of a true princess. And I can’t help but wonder whether that boy will show the sa determination.
Around the nail of her index finger, a small sphere of pulsating purple energy begins to form.
«I-I’d rather die right here, fighting you, than spend the rest of my life suffering and regretting not giving my all to obtain what I truly desire!» Eliss screams, exhausted, her right arm and leg hanging lifelessly while blood keeps blurring her vision. «To give up now would an trampling over my own feelings — denying them the worth they deserve!» The sphere grows larger and larger until it reaches almost ten centiters in diater — a tiny sphere containing enough power to wipe an entire building off the map. «No one can stand in my way and expect to get away with it — not even you or my father! NO ONE!»
An intense beam of energy erupts from the sphere — shooting forward at supersonic speed straight toward Raelor. But the mont Eliss unleashes that magic, the purple glow surrounding her body vanishes. Her wings retract on their own and, with nothing left to keep her airborne, she plumts toward the ground — her strength completely depleted.
Just before the powerful beam strikes him, Raelor dispels it with a swift flick of his hand, as if brushing away an annoying fly. He then darts forward and catches Eliss in midair before she can hit the ground. Now she lies motionless, unconscious in his arms, blood and tears streaking her face.
«You did well, princess. But now, it’s ti to go ho.»
