Daniel stood at the sa spot with not an inch of movent in his body, completely shocked to see whatever had happened to him in that small amount of ti comparable to a second or two.

His body —which remained stiff as though it was completely fine re monts ago —began to host tremors that pulsed through his body.

Deep cuts that had incurred on his body started to moisten up, letting the crimson slowly leak over the edges of his skin—slowly converging before tracing down his skin.

The pain slowly began to pierce through his mind, worsening his expressions with ti.

Frankly speaking, It was a completely normal reaction.

Even though it was true that his soul had been long since devoured by the spell and his mind had gone berserk for blood, it was also true that he was, but a mortal.

No matter how crazy he went, there were clear limitations of the human body that no one could surpass as of now.

A deep cut that ran through his arm and chest, a completely slit-off wrist, and a half-sliced neck—all of these were grave enough to have killed anyone at any ti.

But Daniel was still alive. Not because he was stronger than the rest but because his brain itself hadn’t realized the current situation of his body.

Slowly, numbness began to take over his body, blood seeped in through his wounds—entering his organs, causing them to subsequently fail.

His feet stumbled backward as his balance began to waver. The wounds, the blood loss, had finally begun to grow on his body.

Kai—standing right in front of him, didn’t even try to bat an eye to his condition. His eyes set on the next, even greater wall that he had to climb in a condition where even his life and death were uncertain.

Without paying any attention to Daniel, Kai took a step forward and used his spear as support.

Daniel’s eyes followed Kai like radar as he brushed past him; the pink glow that covered his eyes began to blink almost as if the effects of the spell itself were wavering in the face of the greatest law of all—death.

’He...’ a thought materialized itself in Daniel’s mind as he slowly widened his eyes. His weight shifted forward, causing his balance to fall apart completely.

His body began to fall, but his eyes were dead set on Kai. He wasn’t just looking at him, but he was looking at the path he had embarked on all alone.

The fate that Kai bore on his shoulders, the endless path of struggle that he had embarked on—Daniel could finally see it all.

In the reflection of his eyes, he could see the never-wavering back of soone who had endured the tornts of the world for countless years.

*Thud*

He fell to the ground with a soft thud. His already battered body began to bleed even more as his eyes started to dilate.

"He... looks... alone..." Words flowed out of his mouth as the embodint of his sheer emotions, his voice barely comparable to a whisper.

With that said, his eyes lost the luster of life, and his pupils dilated. His body had stopped moving, bleeding uncontrollably while his mind sunk into the depths of darkness.

One of the walls that Kai had to climb, had already been razed to the ground by him. All while his steps guided him towards the second and the hardest wall—Damon.

Damon stood at quite a distance from Kai—still trying to pull his sword out of the ground.

Kai kept on moving towards him; his steps were erratic and irrational, but what else could be expected from a guy who was constantly losing his strength due to the loss of blood?

He rolled his eyes slightly over to his right. There, stood Xavier, still trembling under the possession attempt of the spell. Unlike others, he hadn’t fallen yet.

"I hope he doesn’t get involved... Or I truly won’t be able to survive." He muttered under his breath as his smile seed to have shortened itself.

His body wasn’t doing any great either. If the rules of mortality applied to Daniel, the sa rules applied to Kai as well.

Normally, a normal human wouldn’t have survived more than 2 minutes with the kind of extensive movents that Kai was performing.

However, he had sohow survived way more than that and was still going at it. No doubt, his wounds were continuously bleeding all the ti, but it had been reduced significantly.

Many uncertain things had happened with Kai all of a sudden.

Let it be the ti when a mysterious voice saved his soul from getting devoured, or when his attitude suddenly changed towards the ones he ran away from in fear.

It was strange. Too strange.

On the other hand, Damon wasn’t just standing there to watch so show either. As he realized that one of his kind—Daniel—had fallen, he decided to drop the idea of slicing Kai into small pieces.

Rather, he now wanted to squash him like an ant.

He let go of his grip on the sword and with a single long jump, he landed right before Kai.

Tilting his head downwards, his gaze fell onto Kai who was looking straight into his eyes with a wide grin tugged to his face.

Feeling insulted, the sound of beastly growls of Damon deepened. He gritted his teeth as he raised his right shoulder backward and retreated his arm.

It was only for an instance, but Kai suddenly widened his eyes. Whether it was his instincts or so kind of premonition, but sothing was trying to alert him about Damon’s strength.

Because in that split second, he felt as though his whole head had exploded by the sheer strength of his single punch.

His smile wavered for a second, but then straightened itself wider than before.

"Now," he tightened his grip on the spear.

"It’s ti to face the biggest wall."
