Chapter 779: Chapter 125 Fleet_2
Xu Mo’s return was known only among the base’s personnel, and Steel Do City went about its business as usual.
The Nanming Family welcod a special guest today, Tan Taiming.
Since the incident with Nan Mingyuan years ago, Dean Nanming had felt too ashad to face his old friend, and the two had cut off contact. Now, after so many years, Tan Taiming arrived at the Nanming residence.
Dean Nanming was exceptionally excited; he personally brought over a chair for Tan Taiming and said, “Old friend, you seem to be getting younger.”
“You’ve aged.” Tan Taiming looked at Dean Nanming and noted that the latter now bore the full signs of age, having lost the dignity and grace of his younger years, resembling a man in the twilight of his life.
“Indeed, I’ve aged,” Dean Nanming reflected aloud. “What made you think of coming to see today?”
“I’ve let go,” said Tan Taiming. “I don’t bla you for what happened back then.”
“‘A father’s fault if his son is not taught.’ It’s my mistake for not noticing what Nan Mingyuan was doing, always being kept in the dark,” Dean Nanming replied.
Tan Taiming had always known Dean Nanming was very self-critical, and he had not contacted him precisely because he didn’t want to stir up those mories.
“It’s all in the past now,” Tan Taiming said with feeling. “There’s no need to dwell on it anymore. Because of what happened back then, Steel Do City moved towards unification. Perhaps from a historical perspective, all that occurred then laid the groundwork for Steel Do City’s future.”
Without those events from the past, many subsequent occurrences might never have happened, and Xu Mo’s growth trajectory would have been different too.
Several years had passed; it was ti to let go.
“Are you here to comfort ?” Dean Nanming asked with a wry smile.
“No,” Tan Taiming shook his head. “I just haven’t visited in a long ti, and who knows what the future holds, so I thought I’d co to see you.”
“Are you in danger?” Dean Nanming’s expression changed as he asked.
“No, don’t overthink it,” Tan Taiming said.
“That’s good.” Dean Nanming nodded. “Old friend, seeing you healthier and stronger reassures ; you don’t need to worry about this old man anymore.”
Tan Taiming stood up, patted Dean Nanming on the shoulder, and said, “Old friend, we must both face the future. Tomorrow will be a brand new day.”
With those words, Tan Taiming turned and left without lingering.
Dean Nanming watched Tan Taiming leave. A brand new day, huh?
To him, every day seed the sa.
Just as Dean Nanming was reflecting, a behemoth appeared in the distant sky. The citizens of Steel Do City looked up in awe, as a fleet of massive warships ascended, accompanied by the roaring of nurous surrounding fighter jets.
Steel Do City exploded into excitent as countless people stepped out of buildings to gaze upward, their hearts surging with amazent.
Dean Nanming was about to sit down, but at that mont he too saw the scene in the sky, and his heart trembled violently.
This was…
The Nanming residence was also shaken as everyone ca out to look up at the terrifying fleet appearing in the sky.
Nanming Huowu stepped out of her room, looking at the distant sky, her heart filled with indescribable emotions.
“A brand new day,” Dean Nanming murmured, grasping the aning behind Tan Taiming’s words from before.
Change was coming indeed.
The fleet of Steel Do City was setting out to attack Byron Star.
Dean Nanming slumped back into his chair, watching the dense fleet with tear-filled, reddened eyes, unsure if his emotions were those of sadness, joy, or both.
“Buzz…” The warships emitted a fierce hum, the fighter jets ford up and entered the warships, and terrifying beams of light appeared as the warships began to launch, departing from the space above.
Dean Nanming stood and walked back into his room with aged steps. Monts later, he erged with a bottle of wine and a glass, sat down in the chair, popped the cork, poured himself a drink, and raised a toast to the future of Byron Star.
At that ti, the city echoed with thunderous cheers and shouts; the citizens of Steel Do City poured into the streets, and even those who were busy dropped their work. The entire city fell into a frenzy.
They saw a super fleet, a fleet with several gigantic interstellar battleships, so formidable that not even Steel Do City or Byron Star before it possessed such power.
With this force, after quelling the rebellion on Byron Star, they would be capable of sweeping through the monsters of Byron Star, ushering the star into a true era of great unification once again, wouldn’t they?
Steel Do City would beco the starting point for the new era of Byron Star.
They, all of them, were witnesses.
“I am Sun Youcai, the mayor of Steel Do City.” Just then, all the screens throughout Steel Do City lit up, showing a plump figure who spoke amidst the chaos and cheers, “Our dia has already arrived in Chuanxing City in advance, and we have dia accompanying the fleet as well to live stream this operation. A few years ago, led by Conrad, the Federation Pseudo Governnt rebelled, turning the Byron Star Federation Governnt into puppets of aliens. Today, Xu Mo will lead the fleet to destroy the pseudo governnt and expel the alien guests.”
Hearing Sun Youcai’s voice, the shouting grew even louder, and the whole city boiled with excitent; the image of that chubby figure seed so endearing to them at this mont.
This operation would be live-stread, and they in Steel Do City would witness this historic mont with their own eyes.
Countless people stayed glued to their screens, hearts filled with zeal and excitent, the fleet’s speed suggesting they would soon arrive, right?
……
Chuanxing City, Xiang Family.
The Xiang Family was no longer what it used to be; if their influence had not spread throughout the Federation, they would likely have been eradicated a long ti ago. The alien race, along with Conrad, in order to consolidate their rule, had not destabilized the foundations of the major families, but for years, they had been slowly consuming them.
The Xiang Family felt the ti when they would be targeted was not far off. Currently, the Xiang Family was under house arrest, key mbers were not allowed to leave at will, and information was being increasingly restricted against them; they were slowly becoming blind.
Under these circumstances, their demise was not far away.
Inside the Xiang Family courtyard, a group was dining together, the atmosphere notably oppressive.
“Father, I’ve just received news that the Federation Governnt is preparing to take over the industries of the major families,” Xiang Ye spoke up.
Elder Xiang did not respond, quietly continuing his al.
When the Federation Governnt started to completely take over, it would an the beginning of the end for them. Over the years, their power, whatever could be removed, was removed, and the rest was mostly under the control of the other party. In reality, after that battle, with the Federation and top military officials gone, they were like fish on the chopping block.
Before long, Elder Xiang finished his al and looked into the distance, murmuring, “The foundations laid by our ancestors have ultimately been squandered.”
Everyone fell silent, no one picking up the conversation.
“Yuner,” Elder Xiang turned to Xiang Yuner.
“Grandfather,” Xiang Yuner looked up at Elder Xiang.
“If the day cos for the Xiang Family, I will send you few young ones away. You must find a way to leave Byron Star,” Elder Xiang said.
The mbers of the Xiang Family looked up at Elder Xiang. Had things beco this hopeless?
“Buzz…”
At that mont, a rumbling sound ca from the sky outside the Xiang Family ho, causing Elder Xiang and the others to look up. When they saw the flying device, they furrowed their brows.
Elder Xiang stood up and walked outside. The flying device landed, and a tall figure approached them, a young Federation Army officer.
“Elder,” the officer bowed respectfully upon seeing Elder Xiang.
“Who allowed you to reveal yourself?” Elder Xiang barked angrily. They only had a few cards left, embedded within the Federation.
“Elder, the Federation Governnt is in chaos now,” the young officer began. Elder Xiang frowned and asked, “What do you an?”
“Not long ago, a large fleet appeared above Steel Do City. They have set sail toward Byron Star. Unless sothing unexpected happens, it should be the fleet led by Xu Mo and the Divine Sword Bureau, preparing to attack Byron Star,” the officer explained.
Elder Xiang’s heart quivered; Xiang Yuner’s eyes, too, froze on the spot, and all Xiang Family mbers were at a loss for words.
Xu Mo and the Divine Sword Bureau were leading the fleet here.
“Buzz…”
Just then, a piercing siren sounded throughout Chuanxing City.
