Chapter 66: Chapter 61 Monster
“Fire!”
The people surrounding the tavern and intent on killing saw their own being wiped out and their expressions changed.
That person was very strong.
He broke through the siege alone and slaughtered them, and even the squad leader had been killed.
“Boom…” Intense gunfire blasted towards Xu Mo.
Xu Mo’s body sensed the trajectory of the gunfire, he dodged, and explosions sounded behind him.
Glancing ahead, he bent his knees and then sprinted forward, Ye Qingdie and the others ran in the opposite direction, each clearing a different area.
The division of labor was clear.
They were all wearing Set Armor, except for Xu Mo, the other three had stolen theirs, and the worst were at Secretary Jin’s level.
There was also a set of Councilman Tyrone’s Battle Armor which could withstand very strong firepower.
Xu Mo’s speed had long since transford.
Not just his speed, over the past year of cultivation his brain domain had evolved to another level, his perception, as well as his use of the Source Power Field had beco much stronger.
He had been in hiding for a year, building up his strength.
Also, this past year of cultivation had been “piled up” with money, no one knows how many Source Power Blocks were consud, Xiao Qi often complained about him being a gold-guzzler.
The money he spent in a day might equate to soone else’s yearly inco, and coupled with his unique cultivation route, he had transford within a year.
At least in the Underworld, so far he had encountered no one who could match him.
Therefore, he wanted to see what the level of competitors at Star Level in the Arena was like.
His body weaved through the gunfire, never getting hit, perfectly dodging all firepower.
Seeing Xu Mo close in, those from the City State Guard felt sowhat desperate.
They were also considered elite, but no one had ever pressured them this strongly.
The dark War Saber grew larger in their pupils as it swept across.
The Battle Armor seed incapable of withstanding a single strike, and heads flew into the air.
In the distance, so bold individuals hadn’t left, and their hearts pounded violently as they watched this scene.
No wonder the City State Guard had dispatched such a strong force for the mission.
But it still wasn’t enough.
The person in the dark Battle Armor was killing them as easily as flipping his hand.
The hunters were counter-slaughtered, and it was a massacre.
No opponents.
Before long, this side of the battlefield had been cleared.
All mbers of the coming City State Guard, including two squad leaders, were killed on the spot.
The mission failed.
“Are these the few people from that small tavern?” The distant crowd felt a bit dreamy, it seed unreal.
So had been drinking there not long ago.
The tavern keeper was very pretty.
The bartender was young and handso.
They, were the thugs who killed Councilman Tyrone and annihilated the Law Enforcent Team?
Xu Mo and his team didn’t care about what the crowd thought, exposure was inevitable, and he was ntally prepared.
The group didn’t even rush to leave but went back into the ruins to gather valuable things, including many Federation coins.
After gathering, they vanished into the darkness and left, seemingly unbothered by the encirclent.
Only feeling a bit frustrated, the Cultivation Room and many good items had been destroyed, needing to be reestablished again.
…
In another place within the Main City.
In the dark night, two tragic screams echoed.
Two mbers of the City State Guard lay on the ground, with claw marks on their bodies.
They were the two tasked with escorting Elsa, trying to take her away, but an accident happened en route.
Elsa’s body continued to undergo transformations.
The two were killed.
“What’s going on?”
“Who’s there?” mbers of the patrolling Law Enforcent Team rushed over, and they looked towards the figure crouching on the ground in front of them.
Under the dim light, they saw a person with wings, and their expressions instantly changed.
The ones from the Underworld had never seen anyone with wings before.
“Monster!”
They imdiately opened fire, the sound of gunfire cutting through the darkness, bullets flying towards the monster.
“Bang, bang…”
The bullets hit the being’s body, but the monster still stood there.
Their bodies trembled with fear, stepping back.
Only to see the monster raise its head, causing their hearts to skip a beat, as the monster had a face as beautiful as a fallen Angel.
Moreover, her eyes were shedding tears, as if she was in extre pain.
“Why…”
The monster murmured, tears falling from her eyes.
The Law Enforcent officers continued to shoot as the monster’s body moved, rushing towards them at an incredibly fast speed.
“Pfft!”
The monster’s hand transford into a blade, slicing across their faces as screams rang out, several patroln fell in a pool of blood.
This monster was the mutated Elsa.
She looked at her hands, tears streaming down.
Her nails had grown very long, and were tough and sharp, like blades.
Monster.
Was she a monster?
Why did this happen, why did they force her into this?
“Ah…”
Elsa uttered a voice of reluctance, the sound cutting through the darkness, filled with endless pain and sorrow.
As if realizing sothing, Elsa ran in a direction.
That was towards the small tavern.
When the two City State Guard mbers were taking her away, she heard them discussing that they were also on a mission there, they were going to capture Xu Mo.
Elsa’s speed was very fast, sothing she hadn’t dared to imagine before.
Upon reaching the small tavern, there were many bodies.
The tavern had turned into ruins.
Elsa’s heart was filled with fear as she moved towards the ruins of the tavern.
Hands turned into claws frantically dug through the rubble, as tears fell upon it.
“Don’t…” Elsa’s voice ca out heartbreakingly.
She didn’t want Xu Mo to die…
She saw nothing.
Elsa continued to dig furiously, without stopping.
People afar caught sight of the commotion and were terribly frightened; a monster had appeared in the City State Main City.
What was happening tonight?
One significant event after another.
Elsa dug for a long ti and never left as the City State Guard and Law Enforcent Team mbers arrived.
The attempt to capture and surround the pub had failed, but how had that woman also turned into a monster?
They raised their guns and aid at Elsa, firing directly.
Energy Beams hit Elsa’s body, tearing her skin, and she was knocked back, rolling through the rubble.
Her skin burned with searing pain, but it was as if she felt nothing.
She got up and continued to dig through the rubble.
It was as if she had gone mad.
That was her obsession.
The pain seed unfelt; she had already suffered excruciatingly before.
Even life itself held no lingering appeal for her anymore.
The Energy Beams continued to hit her, her body bleeding, but healing quickly.
Suddenly, Elsa stopped her movents and looked at those people.
These were the people who had killed Xu Mo and her mother.
Her body rushed towards the City State Guard mbers at great speed.
“Bang.” Her body was knocked flying, the firepower striking her body and face, causing wounds.
But quickly, the injuries healed again.
This made the City State Guard mbers reveal a look of astonishnt.
What kind of monster was this?
The wound-healing ability was terrifyingly powerful.
“Bang, bang, bang!” Firepower struck sweeping.
Wings that Elsa had grown shielded her body, curled up on the ground.
Was she going to die?
If she were to die like this, perhaps it would be a good conclusion for her.
Tears fell from her dark eyes.
She rembered her parents.
Her father’s smile, her mother’s warmth.
She rembered the first ti she t Xu Mo, the departnt store servant.
He was skinny and seed a bit foolish.
She rembered tonight’s birthday when Xu Mo gave her that piece of music.
Perfect World!
Even though these events had just happened recently, why did they feel so distant?
So distant they were almost untouchable, like sealed mories.
She was going to join her parents now.
There were just so regrets left.
Xu Mo might not know she loved him yet.
Hoping Xu Mo would live well.
The continually firing City State Guard mbers grew impatient; this monster simply could not be killed.
This could exhaust their resources.
“Move in.” the Commander ordered, and several mbers of the City State Law Enforcent Team approached Elsa.
They wielded Source Power Weapons, slashing directly at Elsa’s body.
“Hiss…” A sharp sound ca out, a bloody mark appeared on Elsa’s wings but healed at a speed visible to the eye.
The sting awoke Elsa, she spread her wings, staring at the two n in front of her.
“Buzz!” Elsa lunged at the two n, recklessly fast.
The two City State Guard mbers wanted to run in fear; they had never seen such a monster.
The claws directly slit their throats, and Elsa’s gaze fixedly stared ahead.
Now that she had beco a monster, what was there to fear?
Kill them all!
Violent thoughts surged in Elsa’s mind, her eyes gleaming red as she pounced forward.
“So fast.” A mber of the City State Guard noted Elsa’s swiftly moving figure.
Her body had undergone a strange transformation, growing wings, boasting rapid healing, explosive power, and terrifying speed.
Was this so other species’ genes?
The City State Guard mbers fired frantically again, but Elsa recklessly lunged forward, ignoring her injuries, retreating only to charge again.
mbers of the City State Guard began retreating, their firepower nearing its end.
The Commander’s face was extrely grim; he was aware of the existence of Genetic Evolution Liquid.
Was this stuff so horrifying?
“Puh…”
Finally, Elsa lunged to the forefront, her claws piercing through a helt and killing a man.
“Retreat.” The others sprinted away, Elsa chasing after them.
The fleeing mbers of the City State Guard left a trail of bodies.
The street of the pub seed a repeat of what had happened before, the ground stained red with blood.
After so ti, Elsa returned here, once again digging through the rubble.
She did not find Xu Mo’s figure.
She seed sowhat relieved, hoping Xu Mo was still alive.
The red gleam in Elsa’s eyes faded, and her fingers returned to normal; she dragged her weary body away from the place.
Without direction.
She had no ho, nothing left.
She didn’t know where to go.
Like a walking corpse.
She was a monster, a winged monster.
A monster everyone was terrified of!
