Chapter 617: Chapter 49: The Battle of the Super God Machine

When Mr. Ross arrived at the golden banquet, the sight of the luxurious flying devices outside and the golden palace ahead involuntarily instilled a sense of nervousness within him.

At the entrance, mbers of the Royal Knights stood guard on both sides, solemn and stately, like statues.

Mr. Ross, holding his invitation, stepped forward and handed it to the Maid, who took it, glanced at it, and with a smile said, “Welco, Mr. Ross. Please, co in.”

Following the Maid inside, Ross observed the elegantly poised guests casually chatting with glasses of red wine in hand. He took a deep breath, fully aware that each person present wielded imnse power and influence, the kind only great nobles could command to be invited to such an event.

Although Blue Star Energy Technology Group was growing aggressively, by strict standards, it was still not sufficiently prestigious to be invited. Compared to titans like the interstellar bank and the Aerospace Union, Blue Star Energy Technology was still small fish, albeit with significant future potential.

Only when Blue Star Energy Technology’s business had spread throughout the Star System Alliance could it truly join the ranks of the giants.

Many glanced over at Ross, but recognizing no one familiar, they did not linger, rely sweeping their gaze past him.

Despite the casual conversations of these nobles, their intentions were clear, they would not waste ti on unfamiliar minor figures, unless you possessed value or status to match theirs.

At that mont, a figure walked straight toward Ross, a chilling aura surrounding him, his eyes fixating on Ross like sharp swords. Ross’s heart tightened at the sight of the approaching figure.

Douglas.

Previously, at the chanical King Guild, Douglas had been severely beaten, and even now he had not fully recovered.

“Mr. Ross,” Douglas recognized Ross, the founder of Blue Star Energy Technology Group, the one who had collaborated with Miss Elizabeth and Ize.

Ross, feeling a bit nervous, replied, “Mr. Douglas.”

“Who invited you here?” Douglas asked with a cold tone, squinting his eyes at Ross and deliberately lowering his voice.

“Miss Elizabeth invited ,” Ross said, looking up at the other, trying his best not to show any signs of intimidation. His current public role was as the president of Blue Star Energy Technology Group, and he couldn’t disgrace Miss Elizabeth.

“Miss Elizabeth was rely being polite. Don’t you have any self-awareness?” Douglas sneered, “Despicable and cunning Tard people were already destroyed and reduced to wanderers. How dare soone as lowly as you co here?”

Ross looked up angrily at Douglas upon hearing the insult. He could sense the profound disdain in Douglas’s eyes and words, as if in Douglas’s view, he was no more significant than an ant.

This filled Ross with a strong sense of humiliation, sensitive as Tard people were to their race’s plight. Douglas’s sarcastic words pierced him like thorns, wounding his pride.

“Douglas, what are you doing?” A voice called out, and Ize walked over. Douglas turned, gave Ize and Carter a glance, and then scoffed, “Nothing, just chatting with a Tard.”

With that, he turned and left, knowing that since Elizabeth had invited Ross, he couldn’t really harm him—it wasn’t his territory, and he was rely a guest.

“Ross, what did he say to you?” Ize asked, noticing Ross’s upset expression.

“It’s nothing,” Ross replied.

“Ross, you were invited by Miss Elizabeth, don’t let Douglas affect your mood,” Carter said softly, “Regardless of what Douglas said to you, if one day you manage to grow Blue Star Energy Technology Group into one of the top technological groups on Lucas Star, you’ll reap fa and status, and Douglas won’t be able to touch you.”

If the company truly beca a giant, then as its president, Ross’s influence would also be imnsely significant.

Ross, still not fully recovered from the conversation, understood clearly that he was just a Puppet.

“If Xu Mo trusted you with the company, it ans he believes in your capacity. If that day ever cos, do you still fear being wronged? Moreover, since he prefers staying behind the scenes, as long as you perform well, you will always be at the forefront, and the glory will be yours, like today at the golden banquet,” Carter continued, and Ross’s deanor started to ease.

He took a deep breath and felt a firr resolve within him. The Great Demon King might be despicable, but he had not treated him unfairly: the honor would be his, wouldn’t it?

Looking at the royal banquet before him, Ross knew that under normal circumstances, it would have taken years for him to set foot in such a place, yet he had just completed his freshman year at Lucas University.

“Carter is right, Ross. Let introduce you to my father, and if you need any assistance in the future, you can co directly to him,” Ize said, then led Ross to his father, the head of the interstellar bank.

“Father, this is Mr. Ross, the president of Blue Star Energy Technology Group,” Ize introduced.

“Pleased to et you, Mr. Ross,” Ize’s father said, extending his hand to Ross, his smile warm. “I’ve heard about you from Ize before, and I’m surprised by how young you are. So promising at such a young age, the Tard people truly are the most intelligent human race. In Blue Star Energy Technology Group, I can see unlimited potential.”
