Chapter 488: Chapter 88 Battle Song

For centuries, the people of Byron Star have always felt a sense of crisis, under the backdrop of interstellar wars, as weaker planets are in fact very vulnerable.

Above Byron Star, a sword of Damocles always hung.

Now, the sword had descended, and it could once again destroy Byron Star—if the cities were to be destroyed, the ard forces wiped out, then humanity would not even have the capacity to resist the Monsters, and they might very well repeat the disasters from hundreds of years ago.

Chuanxing City now lay beneath those ominous clouds, with no one able to predict what would happen tomorrow, no one knew if they would even have a tomorrow.

The suffocating feeling was terrifying, shaking even those who had previously supported the war.

This was particularly true for those with families, with children.

Under this cloud, one of the Federation’s flying devices flew towards the sky above Chuanxing City, heading straight for the Lancelot Star warship.

This was the envoy going to negotiate.

Aboard the warship, in a rest area, several Lancelot Star People were comfortably leaning back in their chairs, with red wine placed in front of them

This group consisted of people from Lancelot Star and other planets; they were participating in this action. In truth, this fleet was a United Fleet, but it was carrying out the war in the na of Lancelot Star, under justifiable pretenses.

“General Hayes, we have quite a few industries on Byron Star, as well as properties from other Alien planets, so be careful in your actions and don’t really destroy Chuanxing City,” said a middle-aged man with silver hair.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Feng Lun, I know my limits,” Hayes replied. “Moreover, even if I wanted to, with the interstellar alliance watching, I wouldn’t dare commit a massacre. Although the people of Byron Star are nothing but vermin that could be crushed at will, the interstellar treaty still protects these weak creatures.”

“Their life or death doesn’t really matter, as long as we control Byron Star, that will be enough. Later on, the resources of Byron Star will be ours to use, giving us an additional stronghold, and they are currently researching Superpower Weapons, which we can take over just in ti,” another person said. The tone of the entire party was exceptionally relaxed, not at all like they were in a war.

This would be a war without suspense.

“That’s right, the life or death of those vermin doesn’t matter. But there’s one person who must die,” Hayes said, a cold glint in his eyes, followed by a smile, “Co, let’s toast in advance to the success of our alliance.”

“General Hayes, the negotiation envoy from the Byron Star Federation Governnt has arrived,” soone ca to report.

“Oh?” Hayes showed an interested look and said to the others, “Shall we all go take a look?”

“Sure,” several agreed with a nod.

“Let’s go.” The group left and went to an area of the warship. This place was pitch-dark, surrounded by tal, exuding a heavy, oppressive feeling. In front, there were several dark steel chairs, and Hayes and his party sat upon them.

When the Federation Envoy arrived, he saw the scene and felt a strong oppressive force.

“This is General Hayes,” soone nearby said.

“General Hayes,” the Federation Envoy said politely, saluting, “I’ve been sent by the President’s Mansion to negotiate.”

“What do you bring to negotiate with?” Hayes scrutinized the envoy, his voice echoing in the vast space, making the envoy tremble with fear.

“What would it take for Lancelot Star to withdraw its forces?” the envoy asked.

“One, hand over all individuals involved in the incident that day; two, hand over the team researching super-energies and their findings for us to dispose of; three, from now on, officials of the Byron Star Federation Governnt must be appointed by Lancelot Star People,” General Hayes stated, making the envoy’s face turn awkward.

The envoy couldn’t agree to any of these three conditions—it was an attempt to completely swallow up the Byron Star Federation.

“I do not have the authority to respond to the conditions posed by General Hayes,” the envoy began, without any rebuttal. On enemy turf, a single murderous intent from them and he would die right there.

General Hayes displayed a mocking smile. He knew they would never accept the conditions. Without going through war, how could they control Byron Star?

The war was not a matter of chance but inevitability.

It was just a matter of ti.

“Since that’s the case, let propose a simple condition. If the Federation delivers Xu Mo to my warship, Lancelot Star can promise the Byron Star Federation that we won’t intentionally attack the ordinary people of the Federation. We will spare them and not deliberately destroy the cities. How about that?” General Hayes said with a derisive smile.

They never intended to wantonly attack the general populace, so by offering this condition, they essentially wouldn’t have to give up anything.

They were simply curious—wasn’t Xu Mo a Federation Hero?

He was eager to see how the Federation and its people would treat their ‘Hero.’

Would they personally hand over Xu Mo?

Of course, this was also about the Super Energy Body and settling scores with Xu Mo.

This ti, Lancelot Star had brought along so formidable individuals from the Star Lord Knight Order, the topmost Transcendents; they would not let Xu Mo slip away.

Under the might of Lancelot Star, the envoy’s visit was essentially a waste of ti—and perhaps the envoy himself understood it was futile. With things having gone this far, the war was inevitable.

The Lancelot Star People deliberately gave Byron Star three days to let them collapse internally.
