Chapter 40: Chapter 36: Death of the Cobra
In the room, Mia held Yaoer, covering her ears, and huddled with Bai Wei in the corner.
“Xu Mo.” Mia looked outside with so worry and called out.
“Miss Mia, I’m fine.” Xu Mo returned to the room, fully donned in his battle armor. He pushed open the door and said to Mia and Bai Wei, “Everything will be okay.”
Seeing the fully ard Xu Mo, Mia was clearly stunned for a mont. Bai Wei also seed like she didn’t recognize him.
“Brother, Yaoer is scared,” Yaoer whispered.
“Yaoer, be good and stay with Sister Mia,” Xu Mo said to her.
“Okay, Yaoer will be good.” Yaoer nodded obediently. Xu Mo smiled, closed the door, and then walked downstairs, a gleam of cold light flashing in his eyes.
Master Batu stood behind Xu Mo, watching him walk past.
At this mont, Xu Mo activated his powerful perception, and the entire surroundings were imprinted in his mind. Cobra and two gunners stood outside, while two other figures broke in through the door and entered the departnt store.
“Bang, bang…”
Just as the two entered, unable to adapt to the dark environnt, their heads were shot and exploded, and they fell at the entrance of the departnt store.
The night had no effect on Xu Mo.
Cobra’s eyes were fixed inside, and the gunners on both sides raised their guns, firing into the departnt store continuously. The sound of gunshots echoed, but it seed like they didn’t hit anyone.
“Bang.” As soon as the gunfire ceased, one gunner was shot in the head and fell, while the other trembled at the sight.
“Bang…” Another shot rang out. He fixed his eyes inside and saw Xu Mo’s figure erge before falling as well.
Cobra’s gun was also knocked away, but he was fully ard, and bullets couldn’t threaten him.
Xu Mo put away his gun, holding a war saber, and walked out.
Cobra’s arms transford into long scimitars, his eyes fixed on Xu Mo.
“It’s you.” Cobra obviously recognized Xu Mo as the one who had killed Moke.
There were so things he couldn’t figure out.
But it didn’t matter, he wanted everyone inside dead.
“Screech…” The sharp, piercing sound echoed as Cobra’s chanical feet scraped against the ground, propelling him forward like a spring, launching into the air.
Cobra’s long chanical scimitar descended like a cold moon toward Xu Mo below, the blade carrying a chilling intent.
The chanical scimitar slashed down, and Xu Mo raised his war saber, blocking the long scimitar above. Sparks flew as the war saber slid forward, aiming at Cobra’s body.
Cobra, borrowing the force of Xu Mo’s saber, leaped up again. Xu Mo’s war saber struck air as Cobra, now upside down, slashed his scimitar toward Xu Mo’s back.
Anticipating his move, Xu Mo dashed forward, spinning to slash. The chanical scimitar and the war saber clashed again, sending Xu Mo reeling backward. The two swapped positions.
Cobra squinted, surprised by Xu Mo’s combat power, noticing he was hiding sothing.
Moke’s death was still fresh in his mory; he couldn’t be too careless.
“Screech…” Cobra charged forward again, the long dual scimitars slashing down.
Fast, accurate, ruthless.
Xu Mo unleashed his spiritual power to its maximum, sensing Cobra’s every move. He wasn’t panicked, entering a calm and uncanny combat state.
Under the dim lights, blades glead as Cobra’s scimitars grew faster. Xu Mo remained in a defensive stance, though it was strenuous; he managed to block many strikes.
In this peculiar battle state, Xu Mo’s energy sensing intensified, forming an energy field around him that wrapped over his war saber. His power grew stronger, his blows more forceful, allowing him to barely hold on.
Despite being on the defensive, Xu Mo’s combat resolve was stronger than ever.
If he couldn’t even keep his confidence, how could he fight?
Especially against a stronger opponent.
Mia stood at the window, sneaking a peek below, seeing Xu Mo and Cobra in battle.
“Xu Mo.” Mia whispered, feeling distressed as she saw the frail figure erupt with power.
But Xu Mo was fighting; she didn’t call out, fearing it would distract him.
Bai Wei, noticing Mia’s reaction, also ca to the window and glanced outside. The cold blade light caught her eye.
Bai Wei gasped, covering her mouth, her eyes instantly turning red.
“It’s him.”
She now realized Xu Mo was the Hunter, always secretly protecting her.
The brave youth she admired turned out to be the one who saved her, always by her side without her knowing.
Thinking back on these days, the boy always gentle with a smile, tears stread down Bai Wei’s face uncontrollably. She felt both comforted and more worried.
What should she do?
She found herself helpless, unable to do anything. Cobra’s attacks were extrely fierce, giving her an intense sense of danger. His chanical arms, fully ard body, and eyes cold like a serpent; every move he made radiated a killing intent as if born for slaughter.
“Slash…”
The sharp sound echoed as Cobra’s chanical scimitar slashed through Xu Mo’s battle armor, creating a crack. The armor was clearly not robust enough to withstand such powerful attacks, and Xu Mo’s body was jolted back to the departnt store entrance.
“Xu Mo.” Mia and Bai Wei’s faces changed, but Xu Mo’s gaze remained fixed ahead. He appeared with a tallic poker in his left hand; Cobra stopped his advance suddenly, warily eyeing Xu Mo’s hand.
Moke’s death haunted him, making him extra cautious.
The tallic poker shot toward Cobra, who slashed it down with his right chanical blade. Then both his hands retracted, the twin chanical scimitars guarding his eyes, stepping forward towards Xu Mo, clearly learning from Moke’s fate.
No retreat in battle.
Xu Mo took a deep breath, gathering energy on his war saber. He charged forward, the saber slashing down with a whistling wind.
The blade was sharp; Cobra’s scimitar swung to block.
In another fierce clash, Cobra was forced back several steps, but the other chanical scimitar slashed upwards. Xu Mo couldn’t dodge in ti, and the scimitar struck his battle armor, shattering it and leaving a bloody gash, staining the armor red.
His body was jolted back.
Cobra, eyes locked on Xu Mo, advanced once more. Without the threat of hidden weapons, Xu Mo stood no chance. His battle armor shattered, and he was dood.
But Cobra was imnsely impressed by Xu Mo’s combat ability, noting he seed much stronger than during the day, as if transford.
“Xu Mo.” Mia rushed downstairs, arriving at the departnt store entrance, only to be blocked by Master Batu’s large fra like a wall. The battle outside erupted again.
Master Batu glanced back, saying to Mia, “Mia, why did you co down?”
“Dad, Xu Mo…” Mia’s eyes were red, afraid sothing would happen to Xu Mo.
Master Batu saw Mia’s expression and sighed; his daughter was growing up.
Turning back, he watched Xu Mo and Cobra’s fight.
This kid was surprising him; it reminded him of himself in his youth.
Ultimately, a burning heart never cools!
Another ear-piercing sound rang. Xu Mo’s battle armor cracked again, being jolted back outside the departnt store, but his cold eyes stayed fixed ahead. He had no retreat and couldn’t back down.
Master Batu’s large fra descended the steps, causing the ground to tremble slightly.
“Dad.” Mia called out. Master Batu responded, “Don’t worry.”
He placed his hand on Xu Mo’s shoulder. Xu Mo looked back, seeing a figure like a mountain.
Then, Master Batu effortlessly lifted Xu Mo, holding him by the shoulder, moving him behind the departnt store entrance.
Xu Mo hadn’t fully reacted…
Master Batu already walked towards Cobra.
Xu Mo realized he might still not fully understand Master Batu.
“Batu.” Cobra recognized Master Batu from the casino. Seeing the large figure, his eyes glead with cold light. He stepped forward, slashing with his right chanical scimitar, imagining it slicing through the fat.
Master Batu raised his right hand; the scimitar struck his palm.
Master Batu’s hand clasped like steel, firmly gripping the scimitar.
Cobra froze, unable to react. His other scimitar moved to strike, but he was lifted into the air. Master Batu grabbed his chanical scimitar and hurled him to the ground.
“Bang…” The ground echoed with a loud noise, like an earthquake, causing Xu Mo’s heart to tremble.
“Take Mia back to her room,” Batu said to Xu Mo.
“Alright.” Xu Mo, shocked by Master Batu’s combat power, wondered if he had underestimated him.
Perhaps the upcoming scene wasn’t suitable for Mia. He turned to Mia, saying, “Miss Mia, let’s go upstairs.”
“Ah…” Mia looked outside, still in shock. Xu Mo pulled her hand, leading her upstairs, his perception still on the scene outside. Master Batu steadily approached Cobra.
Cobra got up, glaring at Master Batu, his expression grim.
“Genetic Warrior!” Master Batu was neither a cyborg nor a pure Source Power Transcendent; he was a Genetic Warrior.
As Master Batu approached, Cobra leaped up, dual scimitars slashing towards Batu’s neck, aiming to decapitate him.
“Clang…” The long chanical scimitars struck, but the neck wasn’t cut. Master Batu’s hand grasped Cobra’s arms, a crack sounded, and the chanical arms shattered.
Master Batu lifted him with his right hand and slamd him into the ground.
“Bang, bang, bang!” Terrifying noises echoed in the night. Cobra’s body was deford, the chanical body shattered, and his head tilted within his helt.
Master Batu dragged his body, then pulled the bodies Xu Mo had killed earlier. Holding the five corpses, he walked away, muttering, “Ti to move again!”
Xu Mo had brought Mia back to her room. Hearing Master Batu’s muttering, he was speechless.
