Above the ruinous battlefield, nurous flying devices were present.
Besides the machines for dia live broadcasting, there were patrolling machines responsible for surveying the battlefield and conducting rescue operations for the injured.
As ti ticked away, the patrol machines in the high skies unfurled a flag. Then, a loud boom echoed through the air, signaling the start of the battle.
Both sides entered the ruinous battlefield.
This wasn’t a single combat operation, so there wasn’t a direct frontal charge. Instead, they chose a section of the ruinous battlefield.
The battlefield wasn’t too large, but it wasn’t small, either.
If both sides charged straight ahead, they would soon et in the middle of the ruins.
The students from the Eight Extraordinary Colleges ford their ranks, advancing forward simultaneously.
They didn’t all cluster together but spread out as they moved forward.
Long-range attackers in front, chas in the middle, and lee fighters in the rear.
However, after the exchange of fire began, the long-range attack and lee teams could switch positions at any ti. Moreover, many long-range attack students were also proficient in close combat.
The hundred-person team advanced mightily, without splitting up.
In terms of tactics, they were undeniably no match for the military district’s combat troops.
Therefore, they intended to adopt the simplest combat strategy, advancing in a group, forcing the Southern Military District to engage them in a direct confrontation which would slightly increase their chances of winning.
Previously, during special training with the military district, they had dispersed for guerrilla warfare and were disastrously outmaneuvered by the military’s tactics.
Those from the Extraordinary Academy were still confident in their combat power, certain they weren’t inferior to the military teams—they were, after all, the elite chosen from the Extraordinary Academies.
In Steel Do City, countless citizens watched the live broadcast.
The collective advance of the students from the Eight Extraordinary Colleges was a spectacular scene.
anwhile, the Southern Military District adopted a completely different strategy.
The Southern Military District’s ten chas and a ten-person team collectively moved towards both the left and right flanks, heading in the direction of the flanks while the rest of the troops continued to advance forward.
At this mont, both sides were actually unclear about how the other would advance; they could only guess.
"What battle strategy is the military using?" the civilians pondered silently.
The equipnt on the flying devices captured images from throughout the battlefield, laying everything in sight.
The reporter kept speaking as the cara switched and surprisingly moved to the command center of the Eight Extraordinary Colleges. A reporter asked, "Both sides are advancing, and in a few minutes, they might collide and exchange fire. The outside world has been pessimistic about the Extraordinary Academy’s chances. Does the Extraordinary Academy have anything to say?"
"Let’s see the real deal on the battlefield," the spokesperson for the Extraordinary Academy responded indifferently. He didn’t say much, very official.
The screen switched again, this ti to the Southern Military District’s headquarters.
A reporter stepped forward and asked, "Commander Shen has personally co to the front to watch the battle. The military seems very confident. Where does Commander Shen’s confidence co from?"
"The students of the Extraordinary Academy, despite their seemingly strong appearances, are in fact nothing but pets raised in the city. Every elite soldier of the Southern Military District has been baptized in blood, ventured alone deep into the ruins to hunt Monsters, they are Ruins Predators. These students, on the other hand, need instructors to protect them even to attempt trials in the ruins, equipped with powerful gear. Otherwise, left in the ruins, they wouldn’t even have the ability to survive," said Shen Qianzhong. "They are not worthy to be compared with my soldiers."
Imdiately, there was a buzz of discussion among the populace of Steel Do City.
The pride of the Extraordinary Academy was devalued to nothing.
But his words seed to be the bare truth.
The outco would have to be decided on the battlefield.
The cara switched back to the battlefield.
Within the ruinous battlefield, the distance between the people was closing in.
The soldiers who had previously taken a detour to the flanks were Reconnaissance Soldiers. They crawled forward with binoculars in their hands, lying in the ruins and observing the distance, advancing bit by bit.
"Ten soldiers on reconnaissance, and they all have backpacks—they’re firearms."
The spectators felt a bit of alarm, but to confront the students, high reconnaissance capabilities were not necessary. Those combat-capable soldiers could also complete reconnaissance missions.
Additionally, in such a small battlefield, for the elite of the Southern Military District, it wouldn’t take long to comprehend the opposing forces’ formation.
Indeed, it wasn’t long before the Reconnaissance Soldiers had occupied all advantageous positions, observing the opposing side collectively advancing—very simple combat strategy, looking for a head-on clash.
Suddenly, the Reconnaissance Soldiers started to disperse, each one followed by a cha going in different directions.
Soon, they appeared in different positions relative to the Eight Extraordinary Colleges, as seen from the aerial footage.
The ten chas had ford an encirclent around the students of the Eight Extraordinary Colleges.
However, just ten chas and ten soldiers were certainly not enough to defeat the Extraordinary Academy; would they wait for other soldiers to advance and join before starting the battle?
"The students of the Extraordinary Academy know nothing about the military’s actions," the citizens watched this scene and sighed internally. The gap in warti sophistication was just too great.
The only chance for the Extraorary Academy was to prevail through their individual combat talent.
But these soldiers from the military district were also selected elites, and their personal combat power certainly wouldn’t be weak.
"Contact is about to be made; the chas are advancing at the sa ti," the civilians were seemingly more tense than those on the battlefield, holding their breath, not daring to blink as they stayed glued to the screen.
At that mont, a cha positioned itself atop the ruins, raised its chanical Arm, aid at the Extraordinary Academy’s group, and fired.
"Boom..." Both arms were equipped with long-range attack weapons; the chanical cannons fired straight into the encampnt of the Extraordinary Academy, exploding in the midst of the crowd.
At the sa ti, from different directions, ten chas simultaneously appeared, all with the sa modified equipnt, opening fire.
"There’s an ambush, spread out, counterattack," the ranks of the Extraordinary Academy were sowhat chaotic, but still remained calm. They clearly understood this was war and naturally prepared themselves psychologically.
Long-range firepower targeted the chas, but they discovered that the enemy chas simply turned and walked down from the ruins’ high ground, refusing to engage them head-on.
"Damn it..."
Soone cursed angrily.
"Bang."
The sound of a gunshot resonated, coming from a sniper rifle. Those reconnaissance soldiers lay beneath the ruins; they were responsible not only for scouting but also for sniping.
Powerful gunfire directly hit a student’s helt, and even though the helt was on, being hit by a specialized heavy sniper rifle caused excruciating pain and cracked the helt.
From different positions, the previous reconnaissance soldiers were sniping at the sa ti.
The Extraordinary Academy seed to be held back by a twenty-person team, stuck in place.
"cha units charge, everyone else keep moving forward," soone commanded.
If that was the case, then they would let the chas collide with the Military’s chas in one-on-one combat.
One by one, chas moved out, charging towards different directions.
The chas from the Eight Extraordinary Colleges, mainly sourced from the Sierge College, were very strong individually, and they did not fear the Military’s chanical Masters.
The Military’s chas stood atop the ruins, firing at the charging chas.
anwhile, the snipers switched weapons, taking out another type of chanical gun, aiming at the oncoming chas of their opponents.
"Buzz." Intense light shot out; so chas from the Extraordinary Academy dodged it, while others did not.
The enemy fired repeatedly, and in an instant, so chas were hit consecutively. It wasn’t a direct attack, but rather, glowing tal objects that stuck to the chas upon contact, emitted a shrill noise, and then exploded simultaneously, blasting the chas.
Lin Jue’s body was also hit by one of the explosives, but a single one was not strong enough to blast through the cha’s shell.
"We’ve got trouble," Lin Jue thought to himself. These explosives seed sticky, capable of adhering directly to a cha and exploding. It was better to be hit on the outer shell of the body, but if hit on the cha’s head or continuously hit, the cha might not withstand it.
The enemy shooter directly lay on the shoulder of the cha, while their own cha began to retreat, creating distance for continuous shooting.
Lin Jue’s piloted cha was not equipped with gunnery devices; he pushed the energy to the extre, running swiftly through the ruins, having to dodge at high speed as he moved.
On another battlefield.
The Extraordinary Academy’s team continued to advance when suddenly, several shells shot from afar exploded in front of them, creating a smokescreen that covered the entire area.
"Boom, boom, boom..." A succession of firing sounds ca, and the school’s regint enshrouded in smoke descended into chaos, with so even firing blindly ahead. However, the spectators were shocked to discover that the Military’s personnel were just intimidating them; they were not yet within firing range.
At the sa ti, they began to encircle them from three sides.
"Break out."
Soone from the Extraordinary Academy shouted loudly as they started to charge forward, but the enemy continuously fired smoke grenades, and they remained surrounded by the smoke as they ran ahead.
By then, the Military had already ford a three-sided encirclent.
Everyone picked up their weapon systems.
In the Military, there was no one unskilled in firearms; that was a compulsory subject.
"Fire..."
At a command, an eighty-person squad collectively opened fire towards the front, with artillery shells and energy guns at their disposal.
Any mber of the Extraordinary Academy who broke out of the fog was blasted away imdiately.
The Extraordinary Academy’s forces were being encircled.
Several volleys of fire later, quite a few had fallen.
However, so returned fire from within the smoke, shooting blindly outward, but to little effect.
The Military’s encirclent tightened from three sides, relentlessly advancing. Even as so fell, they did not care; they were like fierce beasts baring their terrifying fangs.
After several rounds of gunfire covered the area and the smoke partly dissipated, blurry figures could be seen. Many from the Eight Extraordinary Colleges had already fallen.
Following another round of covering fire, the Military then put down their firearms and drew their War Sabers, like a pack of hungry wolves pouncing towards the remaining mbers of the Extraordinary Academy.
The countless people of Steel Do City fell silent as they watched the scenes on the screens.
They had thought it might be an intense skirmish, but in reality, it was not.
The entire situation was completely under the control of the Military, like a one-sided siege.
No overly complex tactics or strategies were required, but perhaps to deal with these students from the Extraordinary Academy, such simple tactics were enough—to lure and isolate the chas to prevent them from charging.
Then proceed to encircle and annihilate the others.
The Extraordinary Academy was likely to suffer a crushing defeat.
