As to be expected, the Society of Knowers imdiately shifted the conversation to the Dark Jewel's Corner and checked the situation over there.
The situation there had cald down, and those who escaped to Earth had already started to return back to their burned hos.
There was a lot of sadness over there.
When Kael returned back from Earth, he returned back to Whitesky during nightti and left the Dark Jewel's Corner imdiately.
He walked a little distance to the neighboring town and took a carriage from over there all the way to Kornacis.
With most Dark Jewel's Corner citizens turned holess, they were currently living out in the streets in tents or makeshift shelters.
The mayor of the Dark Jewel's Corner, Chester, took his money and wife with him and relocated to Rask.
The townspeople of the Dark Jewel's Corner didn't take that lightly, as they believed he abandoned them, and in a sense, he did.
While Chester still planned to return once the Dark Jewel's Corner was back on its feet, it was unclear whether the townspeople would accept him back.
"There are a lot of nervous people after the incident of the Dark Jewel's Corner. People's trust in the Guild and Magisterial Yard had been shaken.
"That's never good."
Alec said seriously.
"I don't bla them. Even my trust has wavered quite a bit lately. I don't understand how sothing like this was allowed to happen."
Morgana said.
It was a serious situation indeed, and everyone around the mirror table realized that.
"Does anyone have anything else they want to look at?"
lia asked.
Everyone looked around; no one seemingly had anything, but then one person raised his hand.
"My lord?"
lia asked in surprise.
"…I don't have anything to look at in the Peeking Mirror. And it looks like no one else has either. However, I am in need of help."
Kael said.
"While our knowledge has its limits, if there is sothing we can help with, we definitely try to do our best."
"I have a question regarding Leaders—I've problem with them, and I want to know if there is a way to deceive them."
Kael asked.
"Deceive… As in, deceive their truth-seeking instincts?"
Rune, the only Leader in the Society of Knowers, asked with a frown.
"Yes."
Kael leaned back, crossed his arms in front of his chest, and looked directly in the helt of the Pale Rider.
It was a question thrown to every mber of the Society of Knowers, and if soone knew anything about it, it would be Rune.
However, it was unclear that he would willingly give out that information, as Kael himself might use that knowledge against him!
"Well, there are so artifacts that works…"
lia said, but she didn't want to say any more, and looked at Rune, as it was left to him to tell if he wanted to.
"…There are ways to deceive those abilities. Avoiding truths and lies. Be vague, but of course, so Leaders can tell that you are hiding sothing if you're stupid with it."
Rune said.
"I cannot use my real identity, and I have to get so work from the Guild. Is there a high chance that I will be interviewed by Leader?"
Kael asked.
"A high possibility, if they have any available Leader, they will. If you go to the Guild building in one of the main cities, that possibility is around one hundred percent."
Rune said.
"Hmm…"
Kael nodded.
"…I can help you. I'll be the interviewer, as I know so of the questions that they will most likely ask, as I have gone through those interviews myself."
Rune said.
"Sounds good."
Kael said.
"Hello, my na is Pale Rider. What is your na?"
Rune asked with a sharp gaze.
With his ability, he could force Kael to speak the truth, but he doubted that the Guild's interview would be High Ranker.
It was most likely just going to be so Low Ranker Leader as High Ranked Leaders are quite uncommon.
It was hard to pretend to be Leader, after all, so there weren't many powerful Leaders in the Guild.
"…Reece Leader is my na."
Kael said hesitantly.
"…You lied. That's no good. Even Low Ranker Leaders can tell that you're lying if you're so hesitant."
"How can I avoid the lie with the 'What is your na?' question? I can't go and tell my real na, now can I?"
Kael asked with a frown.
"…The Guild will most likely ask you to sign so papers before the interview. Your na, age, and current residence, et cetera."
Rune said, hinting at sothing, and it didn't take long for Kael to understand the hidden aning behind his words.
The rest of the Society of Knowers were just watching with interest.
"Now. My na is Pale Rider. What is your na?"
Rune continued with.
"…I wrote it on the paper."
Kael said.
With a slight lift of the corner of his lips, Rune said.
"I know you did, but I need you to say it. What is your na?"
"Reece Leader."
Kael said.
"…"
Rune looked at him silently, a corner of his lip quirking up in amusent, and he then nodded.
"It was unclear this ti whether you're talking truth or not. So Leaders may let that pass, as that can be a result of nervousness, but so don't.
"It's unclear because you ntioned writing the na on the paper, so what I asked was vague. Whether I asked your actual na or the na on the paper, my Leader powers were tricked into not knowing accurately."
Rune said.
"So like that?"
Kael asked.
"It is highly dependent on your interviewer. Your interviewer can be swamped with work, and doesn't really dig deep into your truths.
"If so, you're a lucky one, but if you get so hardass, soone who's been doing interview work for a long ti, then you might be in trouble."
Rune said.
"Alright… I understand."
Kael scratched his chin, and he thought about other ways to deceive the Leader's abilities, and a plan started to form inside his mind.
'…Then, maybe I should change my na altogether in the Kornacis registery office? I need a guardian there, and I exactly know who.'
