"Puff…"

The mystic man huffed into the pipe, and a cloud of smoke billowed out—it slled like cherry tobacco.

"Hello. I heard you're Mystic."

Kael walked to him, pulled a chain from under the round table, and sat down.

"Did I give you permission to sit at the sa table as I?"

The mystic man asked, lifted the corner of his cone-shaped hat, and looked at Kael with his mysterious-looking eyes.

He didn't have a pupil, but instead, he had a swirling mass of black that seed to shift and change with every passing second.

"I heard you're a great Mystic, and I need your help in finding soone."

Kael said, and sweetened him with words—it worked—the mood of the mystic man seed to improve after hearing the word "great" leave his mouth.

The mystic man's eyes twinkled in curiosity, and he asked very mysteriously.

"Who is it that you seek?"

The corner of Kael's mouth lifted up into a smile.

'A man who desires validation—I know he must be a person of no importance back on Earth, but now, with his Mystic class, he is important to so.

'What he wants is for everyone to think of him as a powerful and mysterious sage—with a smoking pipe, wearing a hood and a cone-shaped hat, he wants to look cool.

'If I just keep praising him and feeding his ego, I am sure I can lower the price of his services pretty greatly.'

Kael thought, crossed his legs, laced his fingers, and then said.

"Kang Huang, a friend of my brother. I know that he lived here with my brother, but it looks like he has moved now.

"He should be in Rask still, but I have no clue about his current whereabouts."

Kael said.

"I can do a location spell, but I need a clothing piece of his, preferably sothing he wears often."

The mystic man said.

"…Give a minute."

Kael walked to the bar counter, waited for the bartender to finish serving his custors, and then asked.

"Did Kang leave sothing behind? Clothes or anything like that?"

Kael asked.

"He left everything he owned behind. He left in such a rush that he didn't even pack anything."

The bartender said.

"Wait, everything? Why did he leave in such a rush…"

Kael wondered to himself, then asked the bartender whether he could take a single clothing piece of his from his room.

The bartender hesitated for a mont, but since he was a brother of his deceased friend, he reluctantly agreed to Kael's request.

He went to the backroom and ca back with the keys to his room—he gave them to Kael—and he went straight to Kang Huang's room.

It was a cozy little room, but it was pretty ssy, with the bed not even made and clothes strewn all over the floor.

"Not a single photograph in sight…"

Kael thought, rummaged through a desk in the corner, and found an old, crumpled picture of Kang with his parents at the beach.

However, the faces of his parents were crossed out with a red marker, and it looked like Kang's relationship with his parents wasn't the best.

"He isn't the type of person to have a diary, notebook, or anything like that—his relationship with his parents is strained, and he looks to be all alone.

"Doesn't even have a single photograph about Soul and his friends—I know they took quite a few photos, as Soul has plenty of frad photographs, and so does Arina back in her villa.

"I saw her room once, and she had pictures of everyone—even a picture with Kang Huang, but he doesn't have anything."

Kael found nothing interesting, so he just picked a piece of clothing from the ground that seed most worn out and went back to the mystic man.

The mystic man was smoking the pipe so much that the smoke ford a fog around him—it was hard to breathe around him.

"Here."

Kael put the clothing piece on the table.

"…Before I do anything, let's talk about the price—my services usually cost around a thousand pieces of Iris Coin."

"I know that people are seeking Mystic's services to find people they intend to hurt, but trust , I have no such intentions. I simply want to talk to him about my brother."

Kael said.

"I can't just take your word as truth. Thousand pieces, and I will also ignore your reasoning for why you have to find him."

The mystic man said.

"…I am not a Blessed One, great Mystic. I am new here, and thus, I am just slightly shy of five hundred pieces. I cannot afford to pay a thousand pieces."

Kael said with a shaky voice.

It was clear that he was very desperate to make this deal work, and he was willing to do anything for it.

The mystic man looked at him—his gaze also softened—and he then sighed.

"…Fine, give everything you got. If you have any more future requests, it will be a thousand pieces."

The mystic man said.

"Thank you… Great Mystic."

Kael said with a humble bow, but he hid his sneaky smile and let out a slight sigh of relief.

'The scar-faced man said that he was a low-ranked Mystic, so I took his word for it—it looks like this mystic man hasn't been in Whitesky for long, so he isn't the sa hardened, tough-as-nails person as the others.'

The mystic man took out a pendulum necklace from his pocket, put it around his neck, and then touched the clothing piece with both hands.

The pendulum started shaking side-to-side—it started crackling with red lightning—and it started pulling towards the door.

"Take the pendulum with you. It will take you where the person you're looking for is."

The mystic man said, gave it to Kael, and while he was holding it, it was still pulling towards the door.

"Thank you."

Kael took out the brown pouch from his backpack and put it down on the table.

"How do I know that this pendulum will really take to Kang? What if you're scamming , and I am wasting my ti and money for this?"

Kael asked.

"I am using the divinity of Mystic God, Marlie, to do the location spell for you. I wouldn't waste the precious divinity just to scam you."

The mystic man said coldly and waved his hand.

"Now leave, and bring the pendulum back here once you're finished with it—the pendulum is not cheap, you know."
