Chapter 646 – The Scum Is Bewitched
"Oh, geez! Your disciples are so wasteful!" Tang Li exclaid as he looked at Xie Lan while pointing at Wen Yan throwing the Exploding Pills everywhere.
Xie Lan proudly smirked. "It isn't wasteful if it is for revenge!" he said.
Everyone nodded in agreent while Jing Rui smiled. Sun Yu sighed in relief and his tense muscles finally relaxed. He also wanted to avenge his disciples, but Xie Lan's disciple already did. Wu Tong almost cried, since he felt aggrieved on behalf of his son who is still unconscious like the Shanliangde Sect disciples. Even their condition has worsened!
Sun Yu and Wu Tong felt their hearts clenched as they watched, extrely tense, the Shanliangde Sect disciples and Wu Tie, respectively, bathed in their sweat while Cui Xiang and Cui Xiao busily fed them with potions while Chen Yu and Sun Ri helped the two press the Shanliangde Sect disciples and Wu Tie down the bed when they, the patients, tried to struggle for so reason.
"What is going on?!" Sun Yi asked, panicking, as he watched the Shanliangde Sect disciples struggling while Sun Ri is crying silently, suppressing back her sobs.
Sun Yi's eyes are red and his tears fell. Wu Yuan comforted him.
"Could it be, the potions are harmful to them due to their condition, thus they are struggling?" Xi Ming asked and looked at the sleeping Cheng Sheng.
"It shouldn't be! Xiang-er won't carelessly feed them potions, especially if she knows that it would be bad for her patients!" You Rou said.
"Then… what is going on with the patients?" Shan Lu asked, feeling bewildered.
"Could they be… bewitched?" Lei Ling suddenly exclaid.
They all turned to them. "'bewitched'?" they asked.
"Not that kind of bewitchnt of a demon seducing them!" Lei Ling imdiately said, shaking his head while frantically waving his hands.

Lei Ling turned to him. "That kind of being under a spell!" he answered.
They felt even more bewildered. "'spell'?" they said.
"But, they were attacked by demons, didn't they? How can the demons use spell?" Qian Lin asked.
"Have you forgotten that leader of the demon which have the other talisman, that is used as a dium to control it?" Lei Ling asked.
"… ah!" they exclaid when they recalled it.
"But, this leader of the demons only have a talisman. How can it use a spell to bewitch the participants?" Hui Qiu asked.
Lei Ling shook his head. "It is only like a kind of spell. I fear, what that talisman is for is to make its targets fall into illusions." He told them.
"'illusion'?!" they exclaid.
Lei Ling nodded. "En. Spells also can be used for illusions, so how can the talismans can't?" he said as he looked at Li Tian, then at his fellow talisman mages Jing Kang, Xiao Le and Guo Cheng.
Guo Cheng nodded in agreent. "Creating illusions out of talismans is possible." He said. "To make a talisman, aside from the paper, brush and ink, the other thing that you use is your thoughts. You infuse your thoughts in it." He explained.
Everyone now understood. They already heard this from Cheng Sheng before when Cheng Sheng taught them in making talismans. But, due to that the things were urgent before, they only had a single thought infused in the talismans, which is to disable their targets. Now, they learned that there can also be other thoughts to infuse into the talismans. No wonder there are different kinds of talismans!
"So protective talisman charms are also using illusions." Lei Ling said.
"Did Cheng Sheng turn pale after he activated that talisman… is due to him suppressing the illusions the talisman of that culprit is giving him?" Jing Cheng asked.

"What's wrong?" Li Yan asked as he and Zhu Xi were back-to-back to guard their backs against the demons' sneak attacks.
"We are already here, yet why are there still demons on Chen Wu's and the others' sides?!" Tang Li asked as he looked at the two balls of strings still emitting light, clearly indicating that Chen Wu and the others are still in harm because the demons are still surrounding them!
Chen Wu and the others noticed this the most since they are the ones being surrounded.
"Are they picking on the weak?" Wu Lian asked.
"It must be!" Jing De sighed in depression. He has never been called 'weak' before! These demons are definitely provoking him!
"Don't be too impulsive." Jing Xu, sitting beside him, said. "Don't you think it is good to have others protect us for once?" he asked and smile.
"Hey! I heard that!" Tang Li said and frowned in complaint. "Do you think that we are your servants?!" he asked, mad, though he continued to hack down the demons.
Jing Xu chuckled. He is obviously in a good mood. Well, who wouldn't be since others are doing tasks for you while you just lie down and rest?
"Zhu-shixiong. Please." Fei Yinzi spoke in a hoarse voice and pushed down the blood in his throat while he clutches his chest.
Zhu Xi turned and saw the demons trapped by Fei Yinzi using talismans. Zhu Xi, Li Yan and Tang Li imdiately moved, but Wen Yan is faster than them since he directly threw an Exploding Pill to that side. But, who would have thought that as soon as the explosion died down, the demons suddenly froze. Then, after a second, they scattered!
The participants were stunned. "What… what just happened?" Jing De asked as they all looked at the demons that are fleeing.
The ball of strings imdiately shrunk and woven themselves before they returned to the wrists of the participants like charm bracelets.
"It's… over?" Ling Yun asked and sighed.
But, no one answered since everyone felt an unsettling feeling.

"The… patients have cald down?!" Chen Yu exclaid in surprise when they saw that the Shanliangde Sect disciples and Wu Tie have finally stopped struggling and returned to sleep.
Sun Ri cried in relief and hugged her elder brother Sun Yan while Cui Xiao's brows raised in surprise.
anwhile, Cui Xiang frowned. "I… don't think so." She said as she looked at the patients.
Cui Xiao, Chen Yu and Sun Ri looked at her.

Xiao Bao and xiao Ling, as well as Bai Tan the Shapeshifting Blanket, also saw that the demons have scattered and fled in all directions, as if nothing happened.
