On the other side of the battlefield, Marcus and his Rhino charged at the big guy with a golem as his forged beast.

The Rhino ramd into the golem but instead of being sent flying, the golem redirected the force towards the ground, causing a massive crater to appear beneath it.

While their forged-beasts clashed, Marcus rushed at the big guy and swung his fist, delivering a right hook to his ribs.

The big guy grunted but instead of stumbling back, he grabbed Marcus’ arm and threw him backwards with an incredible show of strength.

Marcus flipped mid air and landed in a low crouch with a smile on his face "Not bad"

"Sa to you" the big guy said, as Marcus took a standing position again.

"I’m Marcus" Marcus suddenly introduced.

"Jaxon" The big guy, now known as Jaxon, introduced back.

"Now Jaxon, let’s go all out" Marcus said as he rushed at Jaxon.

"I wouldn’t have it any other way" Jaxon replied as he also moved to et Marcus’ charge.

The two t at the middle and swung their fist at each other.

Mirroring the movent of their tars, the golem swung its fists at the horn of the charging Rhino. The impact sent shockwaves throughout the battlefield.

The two looked evenly matched in the strength sector but suddenly, like a raging bull, the Rhino moved with a speed the golem found had to track.

Going behind it, the Rhino attacked its blind spot. The golem swung its fist at the rhino but it was already gone.

Another attack ca from its left side that ssed up its balance and finally, an attack ca from its front which knocked it back, causing the golem to fall.

"You know, you’re really strong" Marcus said to Jaxon who he was locked in a punch barrage with "the only problem is, you don’t have the speed to match so you’re going to lose".

"Is that so?" Jaxon asked confidently.

His golem, that had stood back up, jumped high up, with both its tal hands folded in a fist.

Landing, it slamd its fist in the path of the charging Rhino which sent shockwaves through the ground and unbalancing the Rhino, allowing the golem to move in and deliver a heavy punch which sent it barreling towards one of the buildings.

The advantage that Marcus had gained was suddenly lost and he was in danger of facing both tar and forged-beast at once since Jaxon was pretty sure that hit was enough to knockout the iron hide rhino.

Well that was until a bright flash covered the battle field.

________

"Tch" Lisa clicked her tongue for the umpteenth ti.

Her opponent wasn’t stronger than her, neither was he faster but the problem was,

He was extrely annoying to deal with.

"What?" The twin and his panther rose out of the shadows on ground "Frustrated that you can’t land a hit on , my lady?"

His forged-beast’s ability was shadow control and the most annoying one for Lisa was when they turn into literal shadows.

They beco completely intangible in that form and no matter how much she attack, not a single one landed.

The area around them was filled with scorch marks due to Lisa’s forged-beast’s attacks.

"Why don’t you stay still for a mont?" Lisa said through gritted teeth.

"You see, under normal circumstances, I’d happily grant the request of a beautiful lady," the twin said with a smug grin. "But not when she’s trying to roast alive with lightning."

That was another reason why Lisa found this fight annoying. The twin, who had already introduced himself as Alec, wouldn’t stop flirting with her which quickly got on her nerves.

"You sure you don’t want to tell your na my lady?" Alec said but quickly turned into a shadow and a second later, a bolt of lightning crashed on the spot he was standing.

"I’d happily give up this fight if you agree to go on a date with after this" his voice ca from the other side of the battlefield.

"I see now" Lisa said and jumped down from her wyvern and landed gently on the ground.

"Oh, are you giving up my lady?" Alec asked.

"No" Lisa said in a calm voice which surprised Alec, since he was sure that he had annoyed her enough "just to do this."

She pointed at her wyvern that was flying higher and higher. Bolts of lightning coated around the dragon the higher he went.

Alec looked at the wyvern, that had stopped ascending, in awe "Okay I’ll admit, that’s pretty cool".

Lisa smirked. "You like to hide in the dark, right? Let’s see how well you do with no shadows at all."

Alec’s eyes narrowed. "What do you—"

Before he could finish, her dragon unleashed a blinding flash. A storm of electricity surged outward, illuminating the entire battlefield in a white-hot glow.

Instinctively, Alec closed his eyes after being blinded by the glow which was a mistake.

Bolts of lightning dropped from the sky. One of the bolts crashed into both Alec and his shadow panther knocking them completely out.

Smoke rose from Alec’s body. He was very much alive, only unconscious. His hair stood on end, and his face covered in scorch marks.

________

Ethan focused on the opponent in front of him. The determination in his eyes showed how serious he was about proving he could be useful.

"You’re supposed to be a support type right?" The girl asked as he faced Ethan.

"Are you asking because I look defenseless, or are you just curious about my skills?" Ethan asked. His forged-beast, although the size of a komodo dragon, didn’t look intimidating enough so it was normal for him to be underestimated.

"It’s just that I wouldn’t want to hurt a defenseless person" She explained.

"Just co at " Ethan said with a sigh.

"As you wish" The girl said and rushed at him.

Her hawk launched into the sky, disappearing into the blinding sunlight.

’That’s not good’ he thought. Losing track of one of his attackers was the easiest way to get ambushed.

Ethan kept his eyes on the girl, but he was aware of the hawk’s presence above them. The mont he got distracted, he’d be vulnerable to an aerial strike.

’Think. She’s fast, but that hawk is the real threat.’

The girl feinted left before darting to his right, throwing a sharp kick aid at his ribs. Ethan barely had ti to sidestep, but just as he moved, a blur of motion from above caught his eye—her hawk was diving straight for him.

They’re coordinating their attacks.

"Boost agility" Ethan commanded.

The tubes on his Bio-Synth Lizard produced a green glow, and Ethan felt a surge of energy flow through his body. His reaction speed increased drastically, allowing him to twist away just in ti.

The hawk’s talons grazed his shoulder, but before it could follow up, Ethan’s lizard opened its mouth and released a thick Healing Mist. The mist wasn’t just for healing—it created a temporary smokescreen, obscuring the battlefield.

The girl stopped in her tracks, the mist obscuring her vision. "Hiding? That’s not going to—"

She suddenly leapt backward, narrowly avoiding the lizard’s tail and retreating out of the mist.

’Damn she has good instincts’ Ethan thought from within the mist that was clearing up at this point.

The hawk took another dive as soon as Ethan was in its vision but this ti, Ethan was ready.

"Shield"

Taking advantage of the hawk’s diving speed, he deployed a green translucent shield just in ti to absorb the bird’s attack.

It crashed into the shield and rebounded which disoriented it montarily.

That was the opening Ethan needed. The lizard spat out a green fluid at the disoriented bird but nothing seed to have happened, until Ethan explained.

"You see, Rex is not just any simple forged beast" Ethan explained as the girl observed her forged beast go limp and fall to the ground "each chemical it releases has a special use and the one it just released is called neuroflex."

"What the hell did you just do?" The girl was horrified looking at her forged-beast just laying there without moving.

She knew it was still very much alive due to their bond but she didn’t like it being at the rcy of their enemy.

"You see, this toxin affects the muscles and nervous system" Ethan continued explaining "and it grants full control of your forged beast to Rex here and by extension, ".

As soon as he finished explaining, the hawk rose back up and turned, facing its tar.

"Now try your best to win against your own forged-beast" Ethan said, his face adopting a grin.

’f*ck, this guy is dangerous’ she realized too late ’I have to get my hawk back.’

Pulling her from her thoughts was an attack from her own forged-beast which she swiftly had to dodge.

The hawk didn’t stop after one attack, it continued, attack after attack. A couple of minutes later, cuts from the talons of her forged-beast had accumulated on her body.

The hawk dove in for another attack but the girl just raised her hands in the air.

"I surrender" Ethan made the hawk stop after she said those words.

"I surrender, so please give back my partner" she raised her head, revealing the tears that stread down her face.

’I might have gone to far’ Ethan thought but quickly reminded himself that this was a fight and he used the advantage he had.

The hawk flew to the girl still under Ethan’s control. She hugged the hawk in relief.

Due to their bond, she had felt how terrified the forged-beast was when it couldn’t control its own body. She felt its cry for help which forced her to surrender.

"The toxins will wear off in 20 minutes so until then, I’d advise you not to try anything funny." Ethan said and turned his attention to the others that were still locked in a battle, when the whole battlefield flashed white, almost blinding him.

"They should be done soon" he muttered as his the flash of white cleared up.
