"—GH!"

The cloaked figure completed his scream before he suddenly stopped, confused as to where he currently was.

But before he could make sense of anything,

Beel transford in a form similar to the Voidspawns and completely enveloped the cloaked figure.

He tried fighting back to it was too late as Beel had already started absorbing him.

The absorption didn’t take long and soon enough, Beel had completely absorbed the figure.

With the figure gone, the rift started destabilizing before it wrapped into itself and imploded, sending an invisible shockwave through space.

Luckily, everyone was standing a bit far from the rift so the shockwaves only reached them when its force was only enough to ruffle their clothes.

"Tasty!" Beel comnted with a satisfied smile on its little face.

"Did you get his mory?" Reid asked.

He wouldn’t make the sa mistake as with Darren. He would gather every single lead that points towards the cult, no matter how insignificant.

"Of course, papa" Beel answered "should I transfer them to you now?"

"No, not yet" Reid said "let’s return to base first."

"Alright," Commander Ajax who was silently observing said "since everything’s resolved, let’s get back to base."

"Yes Sir" Owen and the rest of team 7 answered.

The commander turned to leave first before he suddenly paused and said "officer Fletcher, I’d like to have a private conversation with you later."

"Yes sir" Reid answered with a salute.

He understood that by ’later’, Ajax ant after his mother was gone and Reid didn’t mind, after all, he also needed to discuss the cult’s presence.

Ajax nodded and turned to leave and was followed by Owen, who had a nap to catch up on since he hadn’t rested enough since the first alarm.

He was only quiet in the first place because he had found a way to comfortably sleep even while standing.

Reid was left behind with his mom and team.

Vivian, still in the white phoenix form was suddenly hit with a wave of dizziness.

{You have to deactivate the form now} the phoenix warned {I don’t know how you managed to gain your emotions back but doing that seed to be using up a lot more phoenix energy and you’re almost out}.

As soon as the phoenix finished its warning Vivian’s white hair reverted back to its normal golden blonde and her silver eyes went back to their normal blue.

Before Reid could realize what was going on, Vivian had already passed out. Luckily, he was able to move fast enough to catch her before she completely fell to the ground.

[Don’t worry, she just passed out due to exhaustion] Evo assured before Reid could start panicking.

Reid sighed in relief, seeing that she was only sleeping before he turned to his teammates,

"Let’s get back to base, she needs to rest" they nodded and Lisa imdiately summoned her wyvern.

"Let carry her there" she requested and Reid just nodded, placing his mom gently on Lisa’s Wyvern’s back and climbed on with Lisa.

The wyvern took off, heading to the base, with Clara, Marcus and Ethan followed behind on Marcus’ Rhino.

At this point, the morning sun had already risen and its rays cast on the field full of primals burnt ash thanks to Lillian.

_______

Lillian was knocked out for hours and when she woke up, it was already noon.

Conveniently the military base had a VIP like room for special guests so she was allowed to rest there.

Groan,

She let out as she slowly opened her eyes.

"Are you okay, mistress?" Ellie rushed to her side.

"My head is killing " she muttered.

She had never overused the phoenix energy before since she hadn’t been pushed far enough to since she ascended to Mythic rank.

Trying to stand seed like too much work so she just lay back down since the bed was comfortable enough.

Ellie placed the cold damp towel in her hand, on Vivian’s forehead.

"You were having a fever while sleeping so I had to prepare a cold towel" Ellie inford "and Young master Reid told to inform you that he’ll be preparing your al so he’s currently in the ss hall."

"Reid can cook?" Vivian asked in surprise but it soon made sense.

After all, living in the Scrapyards for two years would’ve forced him to learn even if he didn’t want to.

Soon enough, a knock ca and Ellie was a bit hesitant to open. After all, while Vivian was asleep, a couple of professional ass kissers from the military’s higher ups ca.

They wanted to win Vivian’s attention or support since his favorite son was in the military but they were only t by a cold and non flinching Ellie at the door.

They had no choice but to return with a promise to visit later since she was sleeping so Ellie thought it was one of them again.

"May I co in?" The person requested and Vivian imdiately recognized the voice and replied "Co in, Lisa."

Hesitantly, Lisa opened the door and took a peek first before entering.

Vivian sat up and leaned on the headrest despite her headache.

"I-I ca to check on you," Lisa said, stepping inside, holding sothing behind her back. She looked a little nervous, which wasn’t like her.

Vivian tilted her head slightly. "Is that all?"

Lisa fidgeted for a second before revealing what was behind his back and adding "And I, uh... brought sothing. It’s nothing fancy, just so honey-glazed tarts from the base bakery. "

"Reid ntioned you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth too, so... I thought they might help."

Vivian blinked, then smiled softly "You brought sweets?"

Lisa nodded, suddenly feeling nervous. "Y-Yeah... I wasn’t sure if you’d be in the mood, but—"

Vivian chuckled lightly, interrupting her. "That was thoughtful of you. Thank you, Lisa."

Lisa bead and moved closer, placing the box on the side table. "They’re still warm. I kinda bribed the guy in the kitchen to get them fresh."

"Co sit by " Vivian chuckled and tapped the space beside her, "I want to hear how much progress you’ve made with my son."

Vivian’s plan was simple, play wingman...woman for his son and gain herself a daughter in law, after all, Reid was already eighteen.
