Facing Qi ihui’s sarcastic tone, Mu Shuoqian’s expression remained coolly indifferent, as if he didn’t recognize such a person at all.

It was Mu Haotian, with his back to the window, who instinctively turned his head, following Qi ihui’s gaze, and saw Gu Qili and Mu Fan standing face to face, with Mu Fan looking down earnestly into her hand, no one knew what they were whispering about.

"Outrageous." Mu Haotian slamd his hand heavily on the coffee table in front of him, causing the tea tray on top to jump, spilling half of the tea from the cup.

He glared at Mu Shuoqian furiously, his voice raised in anger, "I was strongly against you marrying her from the start. Out of everyone you could marry, why did you have to choose a social butterfly? If people from the six major families knew she was my daughter-in-law, where would I put this old face of mine?"

Mu Shuoqian remained indifferent, righting a fallen teacup and pouring another cup of tea, savoring it unhurriedly.

Only after taking a sip did he reply in a composed voice, "A social butterfly? What’s the na of this social butterfly you know?"

Qi ihui imdiately interjected, "Ruyan."

Everyone in high society knew her, the fad Ruyan, who was notorious for a while, not because she had a good reputation, but because of how severely she was denigrated. Many ladies from prestigious families even considered her a thorn in their side.

"Her na is Gu Qili." Mu Shuoqian took a sip of tea, his expression unchanged; the two outside the window had already left.

"They are the sa person, identical in appearance; ’Ruyan’ is just a false na she uses to hide her identity. I’ve heard that even mbers of the six major families were among her intimate acquaintances," Qi ihui snorted with disdain.

Impatiently waving his hand, Mu Haotian said, "Enough, stop talking, this is truly embarrassing. Don’t bring her to family banquets in the future, I feel ashad just by seeing her."

Mu Shuoqian set down his teacup and rose smoothly, exchanging a calm gaze with Mu Haotian - one as still as still water, the other fierce as fire.

"Fine, then there’s no need for to co either."

Having said that, Mu Shuoqian turned and walked away.

Mu Haotian stood behind him, his hair practically standing on end from anger, cursing furiously, "You and your damn temper, just like your mother, a rock in a latrine—stinking hard."

Upon hearing this, Mu Shuoqian’s tall fra suddenly tensed, his face instantly turning ominously gloomy and fierce, like a wild beast suddenly roused to fury.

As soon as Gu Qili entered, she caught sight of his face enveloped in rage.

He was angry, like a furious caged beast.

Having known him for so long, the most common expressions she had seen on him were indifference and sarcasm, usually without any expression. Witnessing such an expression for the first ti, Gu Qili froze at the doorway, forgetting to move.

He walked straight towards her, firmly gripping her wrist with his right hand and briskly walked her out.

Clearly, Mu Haotian hadn’t expected him to leave without a word, and while he swore furiously, he could only sigh helplessly. He had always been at a loss with this son, who was like an untad mustang, beyond his control.

"Dad, you see, the second brother now has no regard even for you; he only has eyes for that woman," Qi ihui seized the mont to fan the flas," In my opinion, he’s like an ungrateful wolf that cannot be tad."

"Enough, shut your mouth. Spend ti taking care of the hotel work, and pay more attention to the kids."

After receiving a rebuff, Qi ihui pouted, "I got it."

Gu Qili buckled her seatbelt, stealing a glance at him cautiously. It was just an instant, but he had already returned to his usual cold deanor, as if nothing had happened. However, she was certain that sothing must have provoked his thwarted fury.

Gu Qili opened her mouth, but ultimately said nothing. Ever since that ’heart-to-heart’ conversation, their relationship had been very delicate. Although they lived under the sa roof and ate at the sa table, there was little communication between them, and besides, he was not soone who talked much. It was difficult to get him to initiate a conversation, and she would not make assumptions anymore.
