Jian Si said, "Nan Yu seems drunk again."

"Yeah, I’ll take him back, you and Zhengzheng should rest early." Nan Zhan stood up and helped the completely inebriated Nan Yu.

Jian Si walked them to the door, hesitated for a long ti before saying, "When are you planning to tell Nan Yu about our relationship?"

Nan Zhan glanced at Nan Yu’s closed eyes, extended a hand to touch Jian Si’s sowhat worried face: "He already knows."

Nan Yu is so perceptive, he probably noticed their subtle actions the mont they entered the door. That’s probably why he suggested drinking, to drown the sorrows in liquor—a way to escape the contradictions and sadness of facing the girl he likes and his own older brother.

"Then he...?"

"He’s my little brother, I’ll handle it, don’t worry about it."

Jian Si humd in acknowledgnt, right, with him around, what problem couldn’t be solved?

A huge weight lifted off her chest, she smiled radiantly at him: "Goodbye."

Because Zhengzheng was there, Nan Zhan suppressed the restlessness in his heart and hoarsely said: "Goodbye."

After washing up, Jian Si sat on the bedside to sort out so docunts, while Zhengzheng sat across from her reading a book; mother and son both engrossed in their own things, not bothering each other, the atmosphere quiet and harmonious.

A while later, Jian Si’s phone rang. She picked it up and saw a ssage from Nan Zhan: "Nan Yu has been safely delivered."

"You should also rest early." Jian Si put down her book and quickly replied with her fingers.

"Today is a pity."

His abrupt ssage made Jian Si a bit puzzled: "A pity about what?"

"Regret not kissing you."

Jian Si’s face blushed instantly, panicked like a thief, she hurriedly looked up, thankfully Zhengzheng was already lying in bed, asleep with a book in hand.

She walked over to remove the book and properly tucked him in with the blanket, then returned to her own bed. Looking at the ssage that made her blush and heart race, she didn’t know how to reply.

After much thought, she could only send a sleepy emoji.

She wanted to steer the conversation away, but instead received Lawyer Nan’s more explicit confession: "Jian Si, when can I sleep with you?"

Jian Si rubbed her forehead, his intentions couldn’t be more transparent if he tried, couldn’t he be a bit more subtle?

"Oh, don’t get wrong, I just want to sleep across from you like Zhengzheng."

Pfft, such an explanation was a bit too far-fetched.

Of course, Jian Si did not believe Lawyer Nan’s "nonsense"; ever since the day he took an interest in her, he never gave up the idea of sleeping with her.

This shaless man.

In a blink of an eye, the court date for Jian Si’s lawsuit was approaching. Normally, the court would need a long period for review, but due to Helan Ying’s position, the case was quickly scheduled.

Even with Nan Zhan’s assistance, Jian Si was still nervous. The day before the court session, she happened to have a day off, so she decided to just stay at ho and review the sorted case files to distract herself.

The phone rang while Jian Si was morizing a particularly dense and difficult legal clause.

"Hello." She flipped through the book, taking notes with a pen in hand.

"Miss Jian, I’m downstairs at your building. Let’s talk."

Jian Si recognized the voice, and her heart tightened – it was Helan Ying.

Helan Ying stood by the flower bed of the residential complex, dressed in a gray business suit, looking very capable.

"Miss Jian, we et again." Helan Ying’s lips curled into a sarcastic smile, her deanor proud.

Jian Si said, "Hello, Mrs. Helan."

"I think there’s no need for us to beat around the bush, and my ti is limited, unlike Miss Jian who seems to have plenty."

Despite Helan Ying’s vexing words, Jian Si maintained a proper smile, silently chanting to herself: She is Nan Zhan’s mother, she is Nan Zhan’s mother.

"Miss Jian, let’s get straight to the point. I advise you to give up the lawsuit and hand over custody of Zhengzheng to ."

Jian Si was firm: "Mrs. Helan, I will not give up on Zhengzheng’s custody rights."

Helan Ying seed to have anticipated her steadfastness, and hence sarcastically remarked, "What is your relationship with my son?"

Jian Si was taken aback and didn’t answer straight away.

"Do you love him?" Helan Ying stared into her beautiful eyes, "Regardless of your feelings for him, if you had any consideration for him, you would not let him take this case and go to court against his own mother. Do you understand the impact this could have if it gets out? He will be labeled unfilial, ostracized by everyone, and furthermore, you will break his undefeated record, because in this lawsuit, I am almost certain to win, and he is undoubtedly going to lose."
