Nan Zhan walked up to Zhengzheng’s room door, which was also left ajar. He pushed the door open, and the warm morning sunlight fell onto the spacious bed.

In the middle of the bed, Jian Si was curled up, holding Zhengzheng in her arms, the little red face bearing a serene smile.

Seeing such a scene, four words suddenly erged in Nan Zhan’s mind: tranquil and peaceful tis.

He didn’t disturb the two peacefully sleeping individuals, took a step back, and gently closed the door.

Arriving in the kitchen, Nan Zhan opened the fridge to take a look. He didn’t know how to stir-fry, but there were frozen dumplings available. Thinking that dumplings also required boiling, he found it a bit troubleso, but ultimately he took out a bag anyway.

Jian Si had nightmares frequently last night, so she got up a bit late in the morning. Opening her eyes, she saw sunlight filtering through the curtains and was so shocked that she imdiately sat up, pushing Zhengzheng who was beside her: "Zhengzheng, get up, we’re going to be late for school."

Zhengzheng rubbed his eyes, "Sis, you must be muddled from sleep, today is Saturday, I don’t have to go to school."

"Oh, it’s Saturday." Jian Si sighed in relief, but imdiately got up in a hurry.

"Sis, where are you going in such a rush?"

"To cook." Now that she was asking for help, she couldn’t be as casual as when she was at her own ho; als had to be on ti.

Jian Si quickly tied up her hair and washed her face, and when she arrived at the kitchen, she was startled by the white smoke billowing inside. Her first thought was that there was a fire.

Once she took a closer look, she saw a tall figure amidst the white mist, making sowhat clumsy movents.

She approached him, looking incredulously at him, "Mr. Nan?"

Nan Zhan looked impatient and tossed the spatula into her hand, "Wasting my ti."

Jian Si looked into the pot and saw that the dumplings had sunk to the bottom, with water bubbling noisily.

She hurriedly moved him aside, "You need to keep stirring, otherwise the dumplings will stick to the bottom of the pot."

He always prides himself on high intelligence, doesn’t he understand such a simple principle? Oh, that seems to have nothing to do with intelligence. Books say that people with high IQ often have low EQ and lack common sense; it seems to be their common trait.

"I’ve never cooked before." Nan Zhan snorted coldly, with a tinge of annoyance, "If you hadn’t slept till the sun was high, would I have had to boil dumplings?"

Listening to him, Jian Si couldn’t help but laugh.

At this mont, she actually found him quite endearing. He could have just waited for her to wake up,

"Mr. Nan, a friendly reminder," Jian Si raised her hand and turned on the kitchen extractor hood, "Turn on the extractor hood when cooking, otherwise, people might think you live in the heavens."

"What a bother." Nan Zhan lifted his head with a look of disdain and walked out of the kitchen with his hands behind his back.

Jian Si shook her head helplessly: "Really not open to learning."

Nan Zhan arrived at Zhengzheng’s doorway, where he had already finished washing up and was squatting in front of the wardrobe fiddling with sothing. Probably too engrossed in what he was doing, he didn’t even notice Nan Zhan behind him.

"Like it?" His voice suddenly sounded above Zhengzheng’s head, low and deep.

With a guilty conscience, Zhengzheng’s hands went weak, and a box fell onto the floor.

This was a Transforrs toy Nan Zhan bought for him the other night. Worried that Jian Si would find out, he had been hiding it in the wardrobe. Seeing it while changing clothes in the morning, he couldn’t resist taking it out to admire for a while.

"Big brother, I’ve decided to return it to you. If my sister finds out, she will definitely be unhappy. She has taught from a young age not to take things from others casually," after struggling internally for half a day, Zhengzheng had decided to painfully part with it.

Facing the toy box being handed over by the little hand, Nan Zhan suddenly sat down on the bed, "I have a question I want to ask you."

"What question? Is it about a case?" Zhengzheng’s eyes imdiately lit up.

Nan Zhan laughed softly, not knowing how such a little guy could be so interested in things like murder and arson. Genetic factors are indeed powerful.

"If soone could give you a better life, such as mountains of toys, endless seafood, cakes, snacks every day, and the best schools in the country,"

After Nan Zhan finished speaking, he stared at Zhengzheng’s little face, where in those bright, clear eyes, he seed to see a flicker of yearning. However, it was fleeting and quickly returned to its usual calmness.

Zhengzheng shook his head, "Although the conditions you ntioned are very tempting, I won’t leave my sister."

"Why?"

"Big brother, haven’t you ever heard the saying, ’A child does not despise an ugly mother, a dog does not despise a poor ho’? My sister is the best sister in the world, and she has always been working hard to provide with a better life. Although I really like those toys and cakes, they’re nothing compared to the handmade toys and cookies my sister makes for ." Zhengzheng placed the box in his hands, smiling at him, "And you think my sister is a good person too, right? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have taken us in when our ho beca a murder scene, and she beca the pri suspect."

All the child could think of was this reason, but Nan Zhan’s purpose for bringing them back had nothing to do with whether his sister was a good person. Even he himself was unclear why he suddenly decided to bring these two people back; if he was to take anyone back, just taking the child would have sufficed.

Even the little master detective can make mistakes, because he is still a child and doesn’t understand the intricate complexities of adult relationships.

"Dinner’s ready, you can eat now," Jian Si’s voice ca from outside.

Nan Zhan placed the box back in the boy’s cabinet: "I never take back what I’ve given away. Just throw it out."

Zhengzheng paused for a mont without speaking.

"Are you two not eating?" Jian Si’s voice grew slightly louder, clearly becoming impatient.

Nan Zhan walked out and said, "I’m worried it’s too hot."

The dumplings were frozen but tasted good, Jian Si also made two light salads, and sliced so soy sauce beef.

Right after dinner, Jian Si received a call from Jian Hedong. Jian Hedong sounded slightly out of breath, as if trying hard to suppress his anger: "Sisi, where are you?"

"At... ho. Uncle, what happened?"

"It’s nothing other than your aunt, that wretched woman. I ca to confront her about the house today, but she and her son, along with a lawyer they paid for, lectured as if interrogating a criminal, saying the house is hers and told to stop fantasizing about it." Jian Hedong grew angrier as he spoke, "Sisi, did you ask for ?"

Jian Si looked up at Nan Zhan, who was elegantly wiping his mouth corner, and hesitated before stiffening her resolve to speak: "Uncle, I’ll be right over."

"Property dispute?" Nan Zhan let out a contemptuous smile upon hearing her request, "Miss Jian, I’m not interested in property dispute cases. You’re underestimating my intelligence."

Jian Si had mustered a lot of courage to ask for his help, only to be flatly refused.

At last, pushing her luck, Jian Si sneered through her nose, imitating his usual condescending deanor: "Oh, I see now. Is the great lawyer Nan clueless when it cos to property cases?"

Jian Hedong was driven out the door by several people, angrily cursing: "You despicable woman, you won’t end well. Don’t think I don’t know what’s going on between you and that lawyer,"

Normally, Jian Hedong was a man of integrity and ekness, it was only because he was driven to extres this ti that he spoke without restraint. After his cursing spree, Li Ronghua opened the door and threw a bucket of water at him: "Get out of here!"

Drenched in dirty water, Jian Hedong shivered with fury.

"Li Ronghua, I’ve wasted years nurturing you, you ungrateful wretch."

"Say another word about my mom and see what happens!" Dong Jin, Li Ronghua’s son, sprang forward, clenching his fist and ready to swing at Jian Hedong’s head.

"Uncle!" Jian Si rushed over in a hurry, "What are you doing? You’re going to hit soone in broad daylight?"

Dong Jin backed off when he saw soone approaching, but still sneered with a foul mood: "Oh, the niece has co to supply her uncle with argunt. Quickly take your uncle away, otherwise, I’ll hit him every ti I see him."

Jian Si ignored him and started wiping the dirty water off Jian Hedong’s face with a napkin: "Uncle, are you okay?"

"I’m fine, Sisi, thank goodness you’re here." Jian Hedong seed to see a savior, pointing at Li Ronghua and the lawyer at the doorway, he said, "They’re trying to seize my house."

Li Ronghua snickered: "Oh, what do you an seize? This house has always belonged to , okay? Didn’t I give you the money for your half long ago? And now you have the nerve to co asking for the house."

Li Ronghua nudged the lawyer beside her: "You listen up, Lawyer Liu here is a famous big shot lawyer in Aus City, if you want to fight in court, I’ve got one word for you: lose."

The lawyer, in his suit and leather shoes, arrogantly addressed the uncle and niece: "According to my investigation, even though Jian Hedong and Li Ronghua aren’t legally married, they’re in a de facto marriage. During that ti, the property belongs to their communal marital assets, and Li Ronghua paid Jian Hedong his share of the property cash in full years ago. Therefore, the property now belongs to Li Ronghua."

"Uncle, did she give you money for the house?" Jian Si asked, puzzled.

"He’s spouting nonsense. Li Ronghua did give a sum of money, but that was for my sister-in-law’s life-saving treatnt, it had nothing to do with the house money. She’s talking nonsense," Jian Hedong countered angrily.

"I’m talking nonsense? I have the receipt you wrote, and it’s perfectly intact. Do you want to take a look?" Li Ronghua said shrilly.

Jian Hedong’s chest ached with anger, and Jian Si had to support him.

"Since it was during the period of de facto marriage, then this so-called ’property money’ is also communal marital property. Did Mrs. Li obtain Mr. Jian’s consent for this?"

At the sound of this voice, Jian Si’s face lit up with joy; she knew that Nan Zhan would certainly co up.
