Mu Chenxi really experienced what it ans to borrow soone else’s power. She followed Luo Shangqing with bouncy steps, and all the way people nodded and greeted Luo Shangqing. When their eyes turned to her, they were also filled with kindness and politeness, and soone even said to her: "Miss, hello."
This "Miss" made Mu Chenxi’s body shake trendously, and she shivered three tis as goosebumps dropped like rain.
Once inside the private room, the waiter brought over the nu, first handing it to Luo Shangqing, who was sitting in the main seat.
Luo Shangqing took a sip of tea and gave a glance towards Mu Chenxi. The waiter, sharp as a tack, imdiately passed the nu to Mu Chenxi, who was sneakily checking out the room’s decoration.
It was Mu Chenxi’s first ti at such a high-end club, and she had no idea how to order, so she hastily passed the hot potato to Quan Jin.
Quan Jin, not standing on ceremony, picked a couple of dishes with moderate prices at random, then flipped through the nu from start to finish, and asked Mu Chenxi in a low voice: "How co they don’t have your favorite blueberry yam?"
The waiter, with keen ears, heard this and hurriedly explained politely: "We don’t serve that dish here."
The combined reasons were because it was too cheap; such a high-class club wouldn’t sell it.
Mu Chenxi was about to say it was fine without it when Luo Shangqing on the side put down his cup and instructed lightly: "Let the kitchen make it."
As soon as the waiter heard Luo Shangqing speak up, he imdiately recorded "blueberry yam" on the electronic nu.
Mu Chenxi felt sowhat uneasy and sneakily pinched Quan Jin below the table. However, Quan Jin just gave Luo Shangqing a aningful look.
"Bring two servings of ice cream," said Luo Shangqing. "Their ice cream is quite famous here."
By the end of the al, the two girls had enjoyed themselves imnsely, especially with the ice cream, which was scrumptiously delicious.
"Number Four, do you know how much that ice cream costs?" Quan Jin asked mysteriously in the bathroom.
Mu Chenxi pulled a paper towel to dry her hands, and with great effort she stuck out a finger: "One hundred?"
Quan Jin burst out laughing: "Ten tis that."
Mu Chenxi’s eyes widened more than brass bells, her lips trembling: "How much?"
"I glanced at the nu. The ice cream is their signature dessert here, one cup sells for 1888."
"Is it mixed with gold, so pricey?" Mu Chenxi had thought the ice cream was super delicious, but now she felt as though she had swallowed a gold ring – oh my goodness, she had downed nearly two thousand in a few bites.
"Why the heartache, it’s Professor Luo’s money after all. What he doesn’t lack is money, to him, 1188 is like 18 cents to us," Quan Jin wiped her hands. "Let’s go, the makeup I want to buy is on special offer today, and if we delay any further, it might get snapped up."
"Professor Luo’s money is still money," Mu Chenxi shook her head repeatedly. If she had known the ice cream was so expensive, she definitely would not have eaten it.
The two girls had just reached the entrance of the private room when they heard laughter coming from inside, a very pleasant and stately female voice. It seed that sothing interesting had been said, resulting in giggles.
Mu Chenxi peeked her head in and saw at the seat opposite Luo Shangqing – where she had been sitting – a woman in a white wool sweater, black mini skirt, and over-the-knee boots was seated. Her slightly curled long hair draped over her shoulders, gently swaying as she talked.
When Luo Shangqing turned his head to look towards the door, the woman’s gaze also drifted over. Her expression was especially cold, showing an aloofness that kept others at a distance. The smile that had graced her face disappeared slowly when she saw strangers.
"Who are these?" the woman asked curiously.
"My students," Luo Shangqing said with a wave of his hand to the two of them: "What are you spacing out for?"
Mu Chenxi had not expected to bump into Luo Shangqing’s friend here, so she quickly grabbed her backpack off the coat rack and tried to make a quick exit: "Professor Luo, we’ll be taking our leave then."
"Hmm." Luo Shangqing nodded slightly.
Not until the two of them had left did Luo Shangqing turn his gaze back to the woman opposite him: "I have things to do, so I’ll be leaving first as well."
"When do you plan to return to take over the Luo Family business? You can’t be planning to stay at that rundown school and be a teacher forever," the woman said, tucking her hair behind her ear as she spoke the words ’teacher’ with a clear hint of disdain.
Luo Shangqing appeared indifferent, simply getting up and taking his coat: "When you have ti, visit the teacher, he misses you."
"Is the teacher well lately?"
"He’s quite robust, but he often feels lonely without his children around. He hopes that we, his students, can visit him more often, perhaps discuss a new topic or sothing of the sort."
