Mu Shuoqian answered the phone, and Mu Hewen’s sowhat hoarse voice ca through: "Shuoqian, where are you now?"
"Central Hospital."
Qi ihui was also being treated at Central Hospital, so Mu Hewen should be in the sa place as him.
"Shuoqian, ihui might not make it." Mu Hewen’s voice carried a helpless sadness, "This morning, her condition suddenly worsened, and she’s currently in ergency treatnt, but the doctor said the chances of her pulling through are next to none."
Mu Shuoqian smiled bitterly, not expecting that both brothers would end up so tragically, guarding their critically ill wives in the sa hospital.
"Qili is also in ergency treatnt."
Mu Hewen was shocked, "How is the situation?"
"It’s still unclear now."
"Shuoqian, actually I called you because there’s sothing I need to tell you. When ihui heard about Qili’s illness, she made a will. If she dies, she wants to donate her liver to Qili. At that ti, I didn’t take it seriously, because I always felt she could survive." Mu Hewen sighed, "If possible, let the doctor co to do a matching, she always felt guilty about how she treated Qili before, never expected Qili would visit her without holding a grudge. Unfortunately, she can’t even save herself now, nor does she have the energy to make up for the past mistakes. If today, she really doesn’t pull through, I hope we can donate her liver, as a fulfillnt of her last wish."
Although Mu Hewen ntioned that Qi ihui was willing to donate her liver, Mu Shuoqian had experienced this too many tis. Every ti a donor was found, he was full of hope, but every ti the result was the sa: not a match.
Moreover, even though he had reservations about Qi ihui in the past, now that everyone had put past grievances behind, he didn’t really want Qi ihui to not make it.
"Okay, I will have the doctor do the matching first." After pausing for a mont, Mu Shuoqian slowly said, "Big brother, everything will get better."
This address of ’big brother’ made Mu Hewen’s tears burst out. Though they’ve known each other for more than a decade and were real brothers, he had never called him ’big brother’ before. This sudden address was so unexpected and precious that it caught him off guard and hugely moved him.
Over the phone, although he knew Hewen couldn’t see it, Mu Hewen still nodded heavily: "I won’t give up, as long as there’s hope, I will not give up on ihui."
After hanging up, Mu Shuoqian returned to the ergency room, just as the red light went off and the green light ca on. Soon after, the doctor ca out.
"How is it?" The crowd waiting outside stepped forward to ask.
Doctor Lv shook his head: "Although she was temporarily saved, the sa old advice stands: without a transplant, there’s always danger. This ti her strong will to live saved her, next ti she might not be so lucky."
"Doctor Lv, first let your people do a matching." Although he didn’t want this outco to co true, Mu Shuoqian still decided to do a matching first. If Qi ihui could pull through this, it would be a great joy; if not, it would an creating more hope for Gu Qili.
"Okay, I’ll have soone do it right away."
After being moved to the ward, Gu Qili hadn’t woken up yet, and Mu Qinian had been lying beside her holding her hand all this ti, silent, but with ever-red rims around her eyes.
"Mr. Mu." Doctor Lv suddenly appeared at the door, speaking in a lowered voice: "Could you co out for a mont?"
Mu Shuoqian glanced at the comatose Gu Qili, stood up, and walked out.
Shutting the door of the ward, he saw Doctor Lv’s face full of joy, knowing that Doctor Lv, a usually very serious person, would only show such an expression for a certain reason, Mu Shuoqian could guess why.
"Mr. Mu, the matching is a complete match, and even better than I expected. If the transplant really goes ahead, the success rate will definitely increase significantly, and the patient’s post-operative rejection will be minimized," Dr. Lv was sowhat elated, but quickly straightened his face: "The patient is still in ergency treatnt, of course, as a doctor, I hope every patient can recover. Mr. Mu, although the matching is suitable, still, maintain an even temper, hope and disappointnt coexist."
Mu Shuoqian nodded, he of course understood this principle.
"I’m stepping out for a while."
"Alright, I’ll notify you imdiately if there is any update."
Mu Shuoqian went to Qi ihui’s ergency room. Mu Hewen was standing against the wall, extrely tense, constantly staring at the red light, his anxiety clearly visible.
Hearing footsteps, his movent a bit delayed, he turned his head and saw it was Mu Shuoqian, he asked, "How is Qili?"
