Hu Jiaojiao wore a hat with the brim pressed down low; it wasn’t cold out that evening, but she donned a thick denim jacket anyway.

There was no sign of Mu Hewen beside her, she ca alone, and Gu Qili saw her looking sowhat flustered as she entered the gynecology consulting room.

Gu Qili wondered if Hu Jiaojiao had so gynecological issue that she had to sneak in to see the doctor for? With a playboy like Mu Hewen, who knows how many won he’s been with; it would not be surprising if he contracted so venereal disease.

She was feeling uncomfortable herself and didn’t really want to pay attention to Jiaojiao, but not long after Jiaojiao entered, she ca out and headed toward the ultrasound room down the hallway with a slip in hand.

It seems like her illness is not mild if she needs to get an ultrasound done.

Lost in wild thoughts, Gu Qili was brought back to reality when Mu Shuoqian returned after paying.

"You really are young, quick on your feet," the doctor, who was writing sothing on the computer, complinted him again upon his return, "Youth is wonderful."

Mu Shuoqian was in a good mood; he bent down to pick up Gu Qili and took her to get the injection.

Once her feet were off the ground, Gu Qili couldn’t help but look around, noticing that the hospital was bustling with activity and many people were starting to take notice of them. She quickly nudged his shoulder, but her effort was feeble: "Mu Shuoqian, put down, I can walk by myself, it doesn’t look good for others to see this."

"Be good and quiet when you are sick," he said firmly, carrying her quickly to the injection room.

Once inside the injection room, filled with patients and their family mbers, the appearance of such a breathtakingly handso man imdiately made the small space vibrant with energy. Many of the half-asleep patients sat up, watching him as if he were a celebrity.

Feeling like the center of attention, Gu Qili’s face blushed fiercely.

"Gu Qili, right?" The nurse ca over with the prepared injection, but her gaze kept drifting towards Mu Shuoqian’s face. Helplessly though, that man showed no interest in looking anywhere other than at the girl in his arms.

"That’s ." Gu Qili quickly raised her hand.

"Co over here for the injection," the nurse said as she pulled across the white privacy curtain. Gu Qili looked at Mu Shuoqian with so embarrassnt, negotiating quietly, "Mu Shuoqian, can you go out and wait?"

Although he had seen everything there was to see, she still felt awkward. His staring made her nervous, and when nervous, she might tense up. If the muscles tensed up, the needle might not co out smoothly...

Gu Qili felt like a child who couldn’t take care of herself, needing to be held by an adult for an injection, and the nurse looked at her as if she were simple-minded.

"Be gentle." Mu Shuoqian watched the nurse’s fine needle with an icy warning in his voice that carried both coldness and caution.

The nurse wasn’t nervous at first but started to feel tense under his gaze. This striking man emitted an aura of chilliness from head to toe, yet when he looked down at the girl in his arms, his gentleness resembled the soft breeze of spring brushing across one’s face.

It was just an injection, yet he seed to be more nervous than the one getting the shot.

Inwardly, the nurse envied Gu Qili, then she shifted her focus back to giving the shot intently.

"All done, just press gently for a while and then you can let go," the nurse instructed Mu Shuoqian, implying he should hold the cotton swab on the injection site.

Gu Qili shrank her neck like an ostrich, only looking up to see the nurse’s white shoes walking away. She attempted to lift herself up but was forcefully pushed back down by him: "Don’t move, the nurse said to press for a while to prevent bleeding."

"You haven’t answered my question yet?" Gu Qili persisted in her questioning.

"What question?" He looked at her innocently as if he had never heard her ask anything.

Gu Qili repeated it: "Have you always been this good at taking care of people?"

He fell silent for a mont, a very brief few seconds, but Gu Qili still saw the depth in his eyes, as if he was reminiscing about sothing from the past.

However, he quickly picked her up from the chair: "Wait for here, I’ll go get the dicine."

Watching his retreating figure, Gu Qili pouted and muttered softly, "No response ans there is sothing, it’s that Xiao Yu, right? Hmph, there’s nothing shaful about having an ex-girlfriend, acting all secretive as if it’s sothing scandalous, do I seem that petty?"

Unable to help it, Gu Qili felt a surge of jealousy, probably a common ailnt all won suffer from.

As Gu Qili was murmuring to herself, she saw Hu Jiaojiao again. Through the huge glass window of the injection room, she witnessed Hu Jiaojiao coming out of the ultrasound room with a piece of paper in her hand, likely the results weren’t good as her complexion was terrible, with her eyebrows tightly knitted together.

She walked to a corner of the hallway, looked around to make sure no one was watching, then tore the ultrasound report into pieces and threw it in the trash, before putting on sunglasses and hurrying away.

She would have to pass by the injection room to get to the main entrance, so Gu Qili quickly pulled the curtain in front of her, waiting until she was certain that Hu Jiaojiao had left before peering out from behind the curtain.

If Hu Jiaojiao was here for a gynecological issue, she should have given the ultrasound report to the doctor after the exam. Ordinary people can’t understand those reports, and without a doctor’s diagnosis, the patient wouldn’t know how to proceed with treatnt.

Since she threw away the report, it indicates one thing - the contents were so clear that no doctor’s diagnosis was needed to understand it, and...

Gu Qili suddenly had a flash of insight and walked out the door.

When Mu Shuoqian returned, he was holding a plastic bag with dicine, each box had little tips written by a doctor, and the doctor had especially cautioned that she must never drink alcohol again in the future.

"Still feeling unwell?" Mu Shuoqian held her hand with the one that wasn’t holding the dicine, "The doctor said to take the dicine when we get back, take it for two or three days, and the rash on your body should go away."

"Did the doctor say that I can never drink again?" Gu Qili, looking down with her lips pouted high in disappointnt.

Mu Shuoqian suddenly paused, his gaze deep as he looked at her, as if he had made a particularly important decision, and slowly said as she lifted her head: "I will have Luo Shangqing contact a specialist in this area tomorrow, I heard there is a desensitization therapy..."

He stopped halfway through his sentence, struggling to continue as if it went against his own desires. In his mind, she should never drink again because of her alcohol allergy, but seeing her disappointed face and thinking of all the effort she had put into learning about wine, his heart grew heavy with pity - half for her discomfort when allergic, and half for not wanting her dreams to be abandoned halfway. At that mont, Mu Shuoqian found himself in an indescribable conflict.

Gu Qili could hardly believe what she had heard, he hadn’t sternly ordered her never to touch alcohol again, but instead told her there might be a way to cure her alcohol allergy.

Gu Qili felt like she was in a dream, couldn’t help but pinch her own face, then cried out in pain: "Ouch, that hurts."

Mu Shuoqian watched her self-harm antics with an exasperated look, then she giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck like a koala, swinging left and right, her voice filled with joy: "Mu Shuoqian, if you ever stop being nice to , I won’t be able to live."

She lifted her dewy eyes, "Your attitude is a matter of life and death, so you have to keep being this good to ."

While no one was around, otherwise, you would be a murderer."

Mu Shuoqian was both amused and touched, his previous dilemma seemingly evaporated into steam by her happy smile. He hugged her with a resigned sigh: "If I’m not good to you, who am I good to, silly girl."

After getting back into the car, Mu Shuoqian took out a bottle of mineral water from the trunk, and following the instructions written on the dicine box by the doctor, he popped the pills out of their packages, so were four pills, so two, and finally, a small pile of colorful pills laid in his palm.

Gu Qili’s body was still very itchy, but she dared not scratch, only rubbing through her clothes, looking visibly distressed.

Mu Shuoqian spread her palm and placed the dicine in it, unscrewed the cap of the mineral water bottle, and said seemingly casually: "When I was there, I couldn’t get used to their Western fast food, I felt like throwing up at the re sll of fried chicken and bread, but there was no Chinese food to eat, so I had to get used to it. I can’t rember how many tis I’ve eaten salad with chicken and ended up throwing up until my stomach hurt, but later, I miraculously adapted, now I can eat these things without feeling the slightest discomfort."

He watched her swallow the dicine, then patted her head: "If you like it, I’ll be by your side. As long as you keep trying, I won’t give up."

Suddenly, Gu Qili’s eyes reddened, she sniffled hard and nodded vigorously: "Okay."
