Although it requires passing through the main gate from here to off-campus, the distance is not far.

Gu Qili walked slowly, wishing she could turn into a turtle.

Until she reached the car and opened the door, she was even fantasizing that maybe it was just his driver, not him himself.

But the mont the door opened, this extravagant hope was dashed.

The black roof of the car had absorbed enough sunlight, making it sowhat hot to touch; she didn't know how long he had been parked here, and whether he had witnessed the earlier debacle, as being humiliated by money is not sothing to be proud of.

Gu Qili carefully closed the car door, trying to be as gentle as possible, wanting to minimize her presence.

The spacious Maybach 62 boasted luxurious and extravagant space, yet there he sat, his long legs slightly curled, making it seem cramped.

With his back to the light, he appeared sowhat casual, his left arm propped on the window, and his other hand skillfully operating the laptop on his lap, likely browsing so docunts, his expression extraordinarily focused.

He didn't look at her, as if he didn't know she was sitting on the side. Originally, there was already a considerable distance between them, and his side face exuded a cold indifference that seed to keep people at a thousand miles distance.

Gu Qili hugged the dictionary in her arms tighter, subtly moving towards the window under the guise of straightening her skirt until she touched the car door, only then did she feel secure.

"Young Master Qian, shall we go to the old house?" the driver Yuan Yi asked respectfully, while also giving Gu Qili a gentle nod.

"Hmm." A single syllable slipped from his thin lips, his gaze still focused on the computer screen, only his long legs shifted directions, this slight movent tensing every nerve in Gu Qili's body. Although she was far from him, his aura seed to flow around her unknowingly, making her feel extrely uncomfortable.

The old house was a distance from the school, nearing evening, the traffic gradually increased, and they were caught in a jam as soon as they reached downtown. The car lights stretched tens of ters ahead, horns blared intermittently, and the air was filled with an impatient distress.

Gu Qili suppressed the nausea rising in her chest, silently reciting the words she had just reviewed.

The car moved a short distance forward again only to stop soon after. The stop-and-go motion made Gu Qili's stomach churn.

She never gets car sick, today was an exception, probably because she hadn't eaten anything, adding to her discomfort. Moreover, the well-sealed luxury vehicle made it easy to feel isolated. With the car moving and stopping repeatedly, she felt like throwing up would be the only relief.

But she could only grit her teeth and endure it, not wanting to beco the center of attention amidst the traffic, nor wanting to embarrass herself in front of him.

Unknowingly, her face had turned pale.

Just as she was so uncomfortable she could barely continue morizing the words, a cool breeze suddenly swept by her ears, and the windows on both sides were lowered to the lowest point.

With a sideways glance, she noticed that he had already closed his laptop, a cigarette held between his long fingers, he took a couple of puffs before resting his arm on the window, letting the smoke rise outside.

The Maybach 62 was already conspicuous in the traffic flow, and now with his infuriating face revealed, Gu Qili felt the road was even more blocked.

However, with the fresh air coming in from outside, her stomach felt much better.

Finally, they moved out of the congested traffic, both Gu Qili and Yuan Yi breathed a sigh of relief.

The Mu Family's old house was located near the seaside in the southeastern part of Aus City; this area, filled with villas, was ho to the local elite. Although the villas were not far apart, it still took a while to drive between them.

For Gu Qili, the most depressing thing each week was returning here; the Mu Family's family banquet was nothing more than walking on thin ice for her.
